Chapter 25: Ainz's Plan

"An adventurer of orichalcum level. Captain of the 'Last Defender of the Way' expedition team."

"Is this all the information?" Ainz looked at the scroll made of sheepskin from the Roble Holy Kingdom in front of him, the red light in the eye sockets of his skull shining brighter.

His slender finger bones lightly tapped the emerald armrest of the golden chair as he pondered carefully. He dared to affirm that this girl, whose strength was unknown, definitely had a combat power far beyond orichalcum level.

This was the first time Ainz had encountered such a situation in this world. Before this, the Great Tomb of Nazarick had been developing smoothly.

Even when faced with local powerful forces like the "Eight Fingers" or the "Frost Dragon," after Ainz's fierce and tense maneuvers, everything would settle down, only to realize that it was just a mental duel with thin air. Reflecting on everything that happened afterward, it seemed that although the process was relatively easy, it all made sense logically.

"Yes, sir!" Sebas Tian led his subordinate combat maid team away.

"Yes, Lord Ainz," Albedo nodded in agreement and quickly walked outside. Ainz didn't think much of it. What he didn't see was the jealous fire burning in Albedo's eyes as she turned away from him.

"To think that Lord Ainz is so concerned. Damn third party, if you dare to interfere with our relationship, I'll destroy you!" Albedo clenched her slender hand wearing white silk gloves, and the black wings behind her quivered slightly as she walked step by step toward the depths of the Great Tomb of Nazarick.

EeDeChi was still unaware that someone wanted to kill her, so after teaching the emperor of the empire a lesson, she was in a good mood.

She leaped lightly on the roofs of the houses in the capital of the Baharuth Empire, looking for members of her "The Last Defender of the Way" adventurer team. They had agreed to meet in the outskirts after passing through the western gate of the capital.

After leaving the palace, she headed straight to the agreed location but found no one there. So she returned to the city and searched around.

It had been almost a whole morning of searching, and the girl was a little annoyed. She wished she had bought some short-distance communication magical devices and distributed them to her team members so she could give orders more efficiently.

EeDeChi climbed up a tall tower of a temple and looked around. Her eyesight was excellent, and she saw from afar, at the southern gate of the city, a group of well-armored guards surrounding a sturdy man.

The sturdy man was Barrett.

"Madam, the warrant has been canceled," Barrett, with his hands gripping a longsword, licked his lips. At his feet lay five guards holding their arms and groaning incessantly. On the opposite side of him was a noblewoman surrounded by several guards, her eyes somewhat hysterical.

This noblewoman wearing a lace corset was the wife of Marquis Felix Luffman.

When Marquis Felix vented his dark desires in the Forbidden Paradise, unfortunately, he ran into EeDeChi. Then this noblewoman of wealth and glory became a widow. And Barrett and his group became wanted criminals.

"Damn it! It was EeDeChi's did, why am I getting stuck with this?" Barrett gripped his long sword tightly, the fire of gripe burning in his heart.

After parting ways with EeDeChi, he fled the city alone, while Sean and Stella left the capital with the twin girls from another direction.

Barrett quickly disguised himself with simple makeup, barely avoiding several inspections. Afterwards, he was pleasantly surprised to find that the sheriff's warrants plastered all over the walls were being torn down one by one! Their charges had been revoked!

Although he didn't know why, Barrett was still happy to see his wanted poster disappear. He kept walking outward until he ran into the noblewoman who had mobilized her family guard to search.

This wealthy family employed magicians and used range magic that could see through low-level disguise arts to search, and they quickly found Barrett, who had let his guard down.

Enemies meeting, no time for idle talk, they drew their swords and fought. Barrett, being alone, was quickly surrounded, but with his excellent Martial Art skills, he managed to take down five guards in succession. The rest of the guards didn't dare to approach, so they could only temporarily surround Barrett.

"Don't think I don't know, you're an accomplice! You lowly adventurers! Engaging in dirty deeds, making those old fogies in the judiciary withdraw the charges, but my family and I won't let you off! Guards! Get him, interrogate him and find out where that female thief is!"

The guards with thin swords took a step forward, tightening the encirclement a bit, but no one dared to be the first to rush up and fight Barrett. Barrett, wielding his two-handed sword sword, took a step in a certain direction, and the guards in that direction took a step back.

Suddenly, in the midst of the encirclement, a heavily armored guard stumbled backward and fell out, followed by another guard retreating and falling to the ground. It was as if a giant elephant had wrapped its trunk around the guards' waists and threw them out one by one, creating a gap in the encirclement.

But there was no elephant here, only a solemn black-haired girl walking into the gap in the encirclement.

EeDeChi glanced at the Marquis's wife. "I'm right here, no need to interrogate him."

Barrett sighed at the words. With the impulsive captain here, things were going to get even more complicated.
