Chapter 8 : A Glimmer Of Hope

It was another day, and I woke up to the sound of my door opening. A maid came in with a dress and a pair of heels. "Mr. Kim wants you to wear this today," she said, her eyes cast down.

I took the dress, feeling a sense of trepidation. What did he have planned?

As I got dressed, I noticed the maid lingering in the room. "Do you need anything else, miss?" she asked.

I hesitated, wondering if I could trust her. "What's your name?" I asked.

"I'm Ji-hyun, miss," she replied.

I smiled, trying to seem friendly. "It's nice to meet you, Ji-hyun. Do you work for Mr. Kim often?"

Ji-hyun nodded. "Yes, miss. I've been working for him for a few years now."

I filed that away in my mind, wondering if I could use that information later.

As we went downstairs to the foyer, I saw Kim Namjoon waiting for us. For a moment, I was taken aback by his chiseled features and piercing eyes. Now that I looked at him properly, I couldn't believe how handsome he was. But I quickly cleared the thought from my mind, reminding myself that I hated him.

His eyes gleamed with a cold intensity as he looked me up and down. "Let's go," he said, his voice low and menacing.

We went out to a car, and I realized we were going shopping. As I saw the car and the estate, I realized how rich he was. He wasn't just a vampire, but a billionaire too. His wealth was evident in everything, even the way he dressed. He wore designer clothes and tailored suits that showed off his refined taste.

We arrived at a luxurious mall, and Kim Namjoon led me to a high-end boutique. He spoke to the sales assistant in a low tone, and soon, a rack of elegant dresses and designer handbags appeared before me. He gestured for me to try them on, and I felt a surge of resentment. Who was he to dress me up like a doll?

But I had no choice, so I tried on the clothes, feeling like a prisoner on a leash. He bought me a stunning black dress and a pair of diamond earrings, and I felt like a trophy, a prize that he was showing off to the world.

As we walked through the mall, I noticed people glancing at us. They seemed to know who Kim Namjoon was, and they looked at me with a mixture of curiosity and fear.

But as we walked, I noticed something. He was keeping a distance from me, not touching me or holding my hand. And the maids and bodyguards were always nearby, watching us.

It was a small glimmer of hope. Maybe, just maybe, I could find a way to escape.

I made a mental note to try to gather more information, to look for any opportunity to break free from his grasp. And as we continued shopping, I kept my eyes and ears open, searching for any clue that might lead me to freedom.

As we left the mall, Kim Namjoon's phone rang. He answered it, his expression unreadable. "Yes, I'll be there soon," he said, his voice cold.

I wondered who he was talking to, and what plans he had in store for me.

As we drove back to the estate, I felt a sense of unease. What did he have planned for me next? And how could I escape his clutches?

The car pulled up to the estate, and Kim Namjoon got out, gesturing for me to follow him. I did, my heart racing with anticipation.

As we entered the foyer, I saw a figure waiting for us. It was a woman, tall and slender, with piercing green eyes. She smiled, her lips curling up in a cold, calculated smile.

"Welcome, dear," she said, her voice dripping with malice. "I'm Kim Nam-ju, Namjoon's twin sister. And you are...?"

I felt a shiver run down my spine as I realized I was in even more danger than I thought.
