I approach the doors to the hanger but the doors don't budge. I look around for a key hole or some kind of card swiper. I fond a panel on the right side of the door, but i have no ID or keycard. My comm bracelet starts to blink giving me an idea i hold my wrist the bracelet up to the panel. And with a beep the door opens allowing me to move into the lobby of the hanger. I'm met with a very car mechanic like lobby I see a receptionist sitting behind a desk looking at HLS coming out of the desk. I'm guessing it might be a PC of some kind. She heard the doors open and looks up seeing me she puts on a big smile. Her eyes lit up in excitement upon seeing me she jumped up to greet me.
Beth- "Zala how are you! it's been weeks since I last saw you. Are you feeling better I know you weren't feeling so well last time we met."
Not expecting such warm and energetic greeting made with you a little nervous.
Zala- "ya I've been taking care of my self and feeling a lot better. Thanks for caring though it means a lot."
Beth- "well I'm glad your ok it's been so boring around here with out you to brighton my day."
Zala- "haha well I should be back to full brightness in no time so you won't have to wait long. By the way is my uncle here.
Beth- giggles "my my what a come back you have such a silver tongue little guy in a few years you're going to be such a heartbreaker. And yes he working on his latest project and hasn't come out for like two weeks. I've brought him food every day just so he doesn't starve himself you know how he gets when he's in the mood.
Zala- "is he in such a mood he can't talk or interact with any one."
Beth- "for me and his crew but you know that he always makes time for you. but be careful like I said he's been in there for 2 weeks it's probably really bad in there you might need a gas mask."
Zala- "it can't be that bad can it or Are you over exaggerating."
Beth- "sometimes it's that bad, one time I had to wear a hazmat suit to deliver his food."
Zala- "that's really bad are you sure it's okay to go in there."
Beth- "it's fine just hold your breath every thing should be fine good luck."
Whit that she sits back down and starts working like she was before. I let out a deep sigh and head into the belly of the beast theat is my uncle's personal workshop. As the door drifts open I smell fresh cut metal and oil everywhere and a slight hint of sweat. But I only notice it because I was looking for it or else I might have missed it. I start to look around and my eyes go wide it like I walk straight into a gundam anime except the mechs look completely different. The designs and flows of the mechs were so unique and gave off a more futuristic military vibe with a little bit of flair. Kind of like they were designed as a personal mech for some people high up in the military maybe a general or captain. I kept walking further in and saw more machs some finished, some halfway started then there was just random bits and pieces sprawled out everywhere. Looking at a table I saw some old fashioned blueprints which surprised me since almost everything has been so high tech so far it was kind of weird to see.
Suddenly I hear some banging coming from a really old looking mech it could be from like over hundred years old based off the rust and design of it. compared to the overs this has a vibe of simplistic utilitarianism. Sorry it looks like it was made for general jobs like mining or cargo moving. the outside design looks like it's modular for easy repairs and replacements. If I had to give an overall description of it in 2 words it would be the "basic bitch" of mechs. There no flair or uniqueness it's so plain it makes me bored just looking at it. The only that stands out about it is it's age and why it is still in good condition.
More banging noises come from the mech bringing me back from my thoughts. I walk closer as the banging gets louder then I start to hear murmuring from inside the mech. Right as I reach the foot I hear a loud smash!
Then "Fuck!" Comes from inside the mech. After the sudden sream a head pops out of the cockpit in the chest. Just from his face I can tell he's in a lot of pain. He moves further out of the mech trying to get to the ground but it a hard task with one hand. Looking at the hand on his chest I can see he must have hit him hand with a hammer and pretty badly to. Then suddenly out of nowhere my body moves on its own as It head to one of the drawers on the blueprints table. My hand reaches out and opens it. I'm surprised to find what I guess to be a med kit of some kind. My hands take it and I start heading back to my uncle. And again I feel this weird tug on my mind as the words come to my mind.
Zala- "Uncle Ven how many times do I have to tell you to be more careful when working. Especially when using your hands, medicine can only go so far. Sooner or later we might have to get mechanical ones. And I know how much you hate cybernetics so treat your body better."
I let out a sigh as my body moves on its own to push my uncle in a chair and start to treat his hand like I've done it a thousand times. Even though I have never done it before leaving me wondering what the heck is going on.
