Chapter 16

Jesse woke up at 5 a.m. and started doing his stretching. He wanted to get in some training before they headed to the dungeon. He was ten minutes into the routine when Ulric woke up and stretched his arms.

"Good morning," the blonde said. "Have you been up long?" he asked.

"No," Jesse said, shaking his head. "I got up ten minutes ago," he said.

"I'm going to take a shower," Ulric said. "You can take one when I'm done," he said.

"That's fine," Jesse said. "I want to finish my training first," he said.

While Ulric showered, Jesse finished stretching and then started doing push-ups.

"I'm done," Ulric said, drying his hair.

"I still have thirty minutes," Jesse stated. "Could you get us breakfast?" he asked.

"Sure," Ulric said, nodding his head. Ulric headed down to the cafeteria while Jesse finished his workout and stepped into the shower. As he showered, there was a soft knock on the door.

"Breakfast is on the table when you're ready," Ulric said.

"I'll be right out," Jesse said.

Jesse came out dressed in a pink sweatshirt and black sweatpants. He grabbed his brush from the nightstand and brushed his long, black hair.

"The highlights look pretty in your hair," Ulric commented. Blushing, Jesse explained, "It was for the new me,"

"I like it," Ulric said. "The color looks fantastic on you," he said.

"Thanks," Jesse said, taking bites of his scrambled eggs.

After breakfast was over, they took the tray back to the cafeteria and headed outside.

"Now is the time to back out if you're unsure," Ulric said as he stood in front of Jesse.

"I'm not wimping out," Jesse said, shaking his head. "I want to do this," he said. Ulric pulled Jesse into his arms and looked him in the eye.

"Get on my back; it'll be faster this way," he said. Jesse nodded and stepped around him. He jumped on his back, and Ulric said to him again,"Hold on tight, I don't want you falling off,"

Ulric made sure that Jesse was holding on before he propelled himself into the air. Two jumps later, they were on the outskirts of the city. He then walked into the forest that was in front of them. He stopped, and Jesse climbed down from his back.

"That was awesome!" he exclaimed. Ulric was surprised by Jesse's reaction. He expected the boy to be terrified, but he was wrong.

"Wait here," Ulric said.

Jesse watched as Ulric walked away and disappeared into the woods. One minute turned into five minutes, leaving Jesse wondering if he had made Ulric angry.

"Stop thinking bad thoughts," he said, mentally slapping himself. His mind snapped back to reality when he heard a low growl not far from him. Jesse stood motionless when a huge wolf stepped out of the shadows and approached him.

The wolf that stood in front of him had gold fur and blue eyes that were similar to Ulric's. The wolf stood as tall as him. Ulric's wolf gave off a powerful aura.

"Your wolf looks amazing!" Jesse exclaimed. Jesse slowly reached out his hand to stroke him. Ulric rested his muzzle on his hand and licked it. Ulric, the wolf, whined and pressed his nose into Jesse's hand.

"Just like the dogs in my world," Jesse stated, giggling. "Begging to be petted," he said, scratching Ulric behind the ears.

Jesse noticed Ulric had kneeled and motioned for him to get on. "Can I really ride on your back?" he inquired. Ulric responded by licking his cheek. Jesse nodded, wiping the slime from his face. Jesse climbed onto Ulric's back and grabbed the fur around his neck, despite his fear of hurting him. Jesse felt the wind rush around him as Ulric dashed through the forest. Jesse was having the time of his life, and he didn't want it to end.

Ulric slowed down and came to a complete stop when they reached their destination. Jesse slid off his back, looked at him, and frowned. "I'm alright," Jesse said, reassuring Ulric, whose eyes turned sad. "I just wanted the sensation of riding fast to last longer," he admitted. About five feet away was a teleportation portal. Jesse walked alongside Ulric. When they got closer, the sound of the system rang in Jesse's head.

[OPTIONAL QUEST]

Team up with Ulric and kill the dungeon boss

Reward 1: 10 stats points

Reward 2: 2000 gold coins

Reward 3: low grade box x 1

Jesse covered his mouth when a giggle escaped. Ulric, in his wolf form, licked his cheek once more. "Let's do this," Jesse said, wiping the slime from his face. Ulric shifted back into his human form and stood completely naked in front of Jesse. Jesse stared at him, amazed at his perfectly sculpted body. Jesse's eyes trailed from the hard abs down to the huge monster between Ulric's legs.

"Do you like what you see?" Ulric asked, stepping up and speaking in a flirty voice into Jesse's ear. Jesse's cheeks heated up.

***cough cough***

"Get dressed," Jesse said, flinging Ulric's magic bag at him and turning around. Jesse mustered up enough willpower to not turn around and see what's going on behind him. His willpower was slowly decreasing as he waited. Jesse was about to turn around and say something when footsteps approached and Ulric hugged him from behind.

"I'm ready if you are," Ulric said seductively in his ear.

They stepped through the red portal and found themselves at the dungeon entrance.

"There are four tunnels in this dungeon," Ulric said.

"Where do we start?" Jesse asked.

"I didn't detect any monsters in this tunnel, so let's skip it," Ulric said, pointing to his left. Jesse nodded, and Ulric continued: "The next one leads to the boss, and I detect strong monsters in it." "The other two have low-level monsters," he explained. Jesse grinned big and said, "Let's start with one of them,"

Monsters appeared shortly after they entered the tunnel. With everything that had happened, Ulric vowed that he'd not let Jesse get hurt.

[STATS]

Name: Goblin

Level 3 and 4

Three goblins were level 4, while two were level 3. Ulric grabbed his sword, while Jesse held his spear. "Remember your training," Ulric said. "Relax and concentrate on your surroundings," he said. Jesse nodded and smiled at him. "I'll take care of the higher-level ones; you take care of the others," Ulric suggested. Remembering the moves that Mac taught him, Jesse proceeded to deal with the goblins.

With all of the goblins dealt with, Jesse opened the holographic screen when the system sounded in his head.

"Bosses are usually way stronger." "So let me handle it," Ulric offered. Jesse looked up and frowned at him. "Babe, I don't want you to get injured," Ulric said, ruffling Jesse's hair.

"Okay, I'll meditate while you handle the boss," Jesse said. "But, next time, we will do this together," he said.

"It's a deal," Ulric said, giving him a thumbs up.

Jesse sat down and made himself comfortable while Ulric grabbed three healing potions and headed into the boss's room. An hour later, Jesse opened his eyes and found Ulric standing in front of him. "How'd it go?" Jesse asked, standing up.

"It didn't take me that long to deal with him," Ulric said.

"We even got a low-grade box," Jesse said cheerfully. "That makes two that we acquired," he said.

"Let's open them up at home," Ulric suggested. "First, we need to see what the boss was protecting," he said. A medium-grade box sat behind a pile of rocks. Jesse smiled and said, "This is so cool." "We can train and do some treasure hunting at the same time." The two boys headed back to their dorm room because they were curious about what surprises awaited them.
