Although the voice did not carry with it any kind of spiritual pressure, the chill laced with the voice was enough to cause a trace of fear in Wilson's heart.
Suppressing his fear, Trot looked towards Ravien. The carter heir still had his eyes closed.
He opened his eyes finally but did not say anything. He merely glanced at Trot… a subtle gesture to seat down.
Though, extremely unwilling, Trot Wilson had no other option than to seat back. His protector had been defeated even before any actual confrontation and Ravien did not intervene.
Meanwhile, Ravien carter understood that anyone occupying a VIP room could be no ordinary man and must have some sort od status. Even so, he had no change of expression on his face. For him these kinds of things were worth below his attention.
No matter, the status of the person, it could not be compared to him.
With Trot Wilson backing down, no one raised the bid for the sword any further. Amden secured the sword, and while the auction further continued, Amden received the sword in the VIP room after making the payment.
The closer, the sword was to Amden, the more excitement he could feel from the cube. Amden suppressed his curiosity and placed the sword in his storage ring.
He could only wait for auction to end and return home and try to find out the connection between the sword and the cube.
The auction continued for some time before it was, finally, the time for the final item.
"There is no suspense about the last item," the auctioneer declared. "It is the piece of land in north of the city which we have already advertised. The starting bid is 400 D Rank Spiritual Crystal."
Hearing the announcement, Ravien who had been impassive till now shifted in his position.
This piece of land was what he after. The carter family was an elite family with their stronghold in Cablina city.
Incidentally, the Cablina city was not very far away from Azalia town. The distance between the two town was at most covered in few hours by road.
With the base of operations being so close, there always had been this sort of rivalry between the Vantistart family and Carter family. And now this land had provided the Carter family a chance to suppress the Vantistart family.
For elite families, like Vantistart and Carter, clearing and occupying a piece of land as easy as snapping their fingers. But Carter family could not have done it openly so close to Azalia town.
It would be a direct provocation to the authority of the Vantistart family.
But getting a land in the auction through a younger generation could be called as child's whim. And thus, with time, the carter family could build up some influence close to the Azalia town.
The interest in the land was high and many powers were vying for it. the bidding was intense and the price reached 450 D Rank spiritual crystal. Most people, even though, wealthy raised bids in 5 and 10.
"500," Ravien's arrogant voice boomed in the hall.
The steep increase in price startled many people but majority of them were aware that Ravien Carter was the one who had raised the bid. And thus, no one dared to increase the bid.
Ravien could have called the bid earlier and of lesser amount and even then, no one would have dared to go against him. Him waiting and allowing the bid to increase and finally calling a high bid was giving some face to Moonfox Consortium.
Ravien was convinced that the land would belong to him. His face had an arrogant expression plastered on his face.
"600," Amden's calm voice again cut in the silence. A murmur spread in the crowd.
A direct raise of 100 crystals and that too against Ravien Carter.
Meanwhile, Ravien's face turned ugly. He was livid at someone daring to defy him. And Trot Wilson who had been gritting his teeth in annoyance turned happy.
Ravien shouted, "610" and continued in his arrogant and angry tone, "I am Ravien. Leave the bid."
Unlike, Trot Wilson who had at least used polite words and subtle use of his identity to threaten, Ravien did not even pretend. It was direct threat to the person in VIP room.
The moment Ravien issued his threat another round of murmur spread across the auction hall. The Carter family was not something that Wilson family could compare. Even if someone had guts to go against a Wilson, to stand up to Carter was an entirely different matter.
Ravien flashed a content smile after the silence which followed his threat. This was what he expected. His name was enough to deter people.
Inside Amden's private room, Cilia's face had turned frosty. She was about to make a move but Amden raised his hands stopping her.
"650," Amden raised the bid calmly. He did give any reaction to Ravien's threat.
Ravien smiling faced disappeared and an intense rage took over him. This was a blatant insult in the face of Carter family. Like Trot, he felt humiliated… insulted.
Ravien turned around and gave a nod to his guard. The same of Trot's action took a repeat.
Ravien's personal guard directed his spiritual pressure and killing intent towards Amden's room. But Ravien's guard was stronger than Trot's guard. He had a cultivation of mid B Rank.
Ravien had decided to make the bastard pay a price. He knew that this action of his would slightly disturb their relationship with Moonfox Consortium but as long as he did not kill in the auction house, Moonfox Consortium would not draw the matter to great length.
And for the person in the opposite room, he did not care. Even if the person had some background, he was the heir to Carter family. Nothing could compare to him.
It was at the moment when the spiritual pressure was about to reach Amden's room, when there was a sudden flash of sword light.
A simultaneous scream, "Stop" accompanied the sword light but it was too late.
The severed head of Ravien's guard landed with a thud accompanied by a stream of blood.
Cilia wearing a veil on her face was standing at the balcony of Amden's room. At the same moment, a middle aged man appeared beside the dead body of the guard.
He was the protector of the Moonfox auction house in the city. His eyes were glaring daggers at Cilia. His work was to maintain order in the hall but he had failed miserably. And the person who had been killed was the personal guard of Ravien Carter.
He let Ravien do as he pleased because he did not want to offend Ravien. He thought he could use this chance to build a personal relationship with him.
But now the exact opposite of his expectations has happened. This was an utter failure on the part of the protector of the auction house.
Although the matter of maintaining the order in auction could not be now rectified, he could still get into good grace of Carter family heir. And the only method for it was to take down the girl who stood in the balcony and punish the boy who was bidding against Ravien Carter.
