"Ma!" Parele called out as he walked through the door, heading outside. "I'm heading out!" It had been only a week since he'd returned from the contest - and already he was starting to spend more and more time away from home.
From the kitchen window, his mother called after him. "You don't care about your Ma no more?! Come back here!"
Parele walked to the window, where he could see his mother standing in the garden. The garden was filled with beautiful flowers and plants, a testament to his green thumb. Parele's lower lip jutted out in a pout, matching his mother's expression perfectly.
"Ma," he whined. But she wasn't having it.
"Don't 'Ma' me young man! You come back here!"
He shrugged and sighed but there was a hint of a smile on his face. The same expression could be seen on his mother's face too. They were more alike than they realized, down to their matching pouts.
