AN UNLIKELY SAVIOR

Commotion had broke out in the royal camp. There was chaos everywhere. Parele informed the guards about Joz's outrageous doings.

Leomere was semiconscious, lying in a pool of his own blood and Joz, by his side holding a pocket knife.

It was eminent that he stabbed Leomere.

"I promise... nothing happened between the two of them." The panicked Parele explained to the guards. "This maniac is out of his mind! He almost killed me yesterday."

Leomere was still alive so he was rushed to the medicine man that resided in castle's quarters. Accompanied by Nyeren and Parele.

The herbal doctor on camp was on leave due to mohieazttha's case. He wanted to be away from such trivial issues. So he left without any replacement - something that shouldn't have been allowed but who cares about the warriors health.

Joz on the other hand was locked up in the dungeon awaiting hogalbar's judgement.

It all happened so fast...

Mohieazttha looked at the dark walls of the dungeon carefully - It had started to crumble a little. It looked ancient and unkept. "Turns into YHÀKADÉI has a lot of prisoners... this place looks overused sheesh."

Mohieazttha still couldn't bring herself to accept her sentence. She paid no heed to it. Her poor heart couldn't accept it. It felt unreal. The whole world felt different. She felt lighter than a feather. She recalled the day she gave her word to chi...

...FLASHBACK...

The oil container was too far. She brought it closer to herself.

"Chi!"

"hmm." He didn't look up. Obviously enjoying his head massage.

"I really appreciate that you'd allow me to go through with this." Mohieazttha poured the last bit of oil on chi's head.

"You're fulfilling my dream to be the princess's royal guard. It's an honor." He replied.

After the head massage from his beloved sister, she laid him to rest on his back. She stared into him big orb eyes and smirked. "It literally took forever to convince you." She laughed. "So... don't talk like that." She raised her left eyebrow.

"Pfttt...you know I can change my mind don't you?"

Mohieazttha held his pretty face with both hands and smiled. "No you can't!" She ran out of the room.

"Ugh! Be careful!" Chi screamed at the top of his lungs.

Mohieazttha laid in the grass - in front of their beautiful home. She looked at the glittering night sky and admired every bit of it. The tiny stars shone like diamonds. The night was peaceful and calm. She missed the old days when her now bedridden brother would chase after her, and her mom would pull his ears for making his little sister run. Eight months have passed since the incident, but mohieazttha always felt a lump in her heart every time she thought of it. She despised the fang that ruined her brother's life...

After three days of intense searching. The great fisherman's prayers were finally answered. One of the locals had spotted chi in the red river. (The river that separates fang peak and clippers pond.)

Chi received immediate medical attention from the best doctors in the village. Unfortunately, the harm was already done. He was thrown off the cliff - the impact from the height of the fall had completely damaged his spine.

He became paralyzed from the neck down. His family was devastated. Mohieazttha had to become the man in her family. Chi's family was broken. However, they didn't lose hope. They invited the best wizards and witches from delu, expert herbalists and sorcerers from Gibbs farm and they didn't leave the doctors out of it.

As time passed Chi began recovering from his paralysis, and could now move his body from his head down to his waist. Unfortunately, his legs remain paralyzed and wouldn't move. His ambulatory functions remained significantly compromised by his traumatic accident, so he couldn't ambulate independently.

His ill fate didn't stop him from being the best big brother to mohieazttha. He taught her everything he knew about martial arts and swordsmanship. "Anything that breathes needs to know something about self defense." He told her.

At first mohieazttha didn't like it - but chi is a good influencer. He trained his sister to become a great warrior. Because of him, mohieazttha grew up to become the woman she is today. Fearless, brave, strong and true...

Now back to the main story...

As mohieazttha sat in her cell, she heard the jangling of keys and the sound of someone attempting to unlock the door. It seemed as though the person was unfamiliar with the keys, as they fumbled and struggled with the look for a while before finally getting it open. "Probably the guards." She thought aloud.

Once the door swung open, she gazed up at the person with trepidation. He wore a guard's uniform and half of his face almost completely covered with the helmet.

Mohieazttha stood up in shock. "Joz??!" She called out. He took off his helmet. It was really him. JOZ. But how? Why? How did he manage to get off the royal camp? How did he get into the dungeon.

These were questions mohieazttha was dying to ask but her ego got in the way.

They locked eyes for a brief fifteen seconds - mohieazttha eyes sparkling.

Joz lost himself for a second.

Until... mohieazttha squeezed her pretty face in anger.

"How did you recognize me?" He asked not looking away from her face.

Mohieazttha looked away. "I sensed the bad energy. Plus...I can see your freaking red hair underneath the helmet you dummy!"

He smirked looking more attractive than ever!

Mohieazttha rolled her eyes inward to protect herself from his charm.

"MOHEZA..."

"It's mohieazttha you idiot!" She cut in. She hated the fang accent so much.

"MOHEZTA? MOHEEZTA??"

"Yeah yeah close enough..."

"I'm here to help. I can get you out of here unharmed."

"Why?? Isn't this what you wanted? To completely ruin my life? Just like fertio ruined Chi's?? Wasn't this all part of your evil schemes?"

Joz swallowed hard. "let's not talk about the past...I never give explanations. But I'm giving you one today. I didn't steal your VSP to get you exposed or anything..." He paused for a while then continued. "Lustros did. Yes, I knew from the beginning that you were a girl. But I didn't have any intentions of getting you exposed...nor did I share this with anyone. I don't know how he found out, so please stop being stubborn and let me help you." He said just as rehearsed...YUP! He rehearsed every word.

For some reason mohieazttha believed him. She could see the truth in his eyes. "How did you find out in the first place?" She asked.

"I saw the sparkle in your eyes..."

Mohieazttha's cheeks was flushed with embarrassment. "Sparkle huh?" She snorted.

"Yeah, plus... I saw your..."

"Yeah let's not go too deep here." She cut in.

Mohieazttha kept mute for a while. "Maybe I believe you. But I don't need anyone's help." She insisted.

Joz started loosing his patience. "Okay I'm done here! You saved my life the other day...I'm just returning the favor. So I'm giving you two options: you can either walk with your legs...OR... I can knock you out, carry you IN MY ARMS." He emphasised. "And get you out of here." He stated firmly.

Mohieazttha shook her head and turned away. She couldn't believe what she just heard. Neither option was appealing - but deep down she didn't want to die, well at least she didn't want her body to be eaten by dogs.

"Guess what?" She asked.

"What?"

"Turns out I have legs... I can walk YAY! so let's run for it.

Joz couldn't stop himself from laughing. He let out a sigh as he heard the words come out of her mouth. He felt as if a burden had been lifted of his shoulders.

"Let's go."

Mohieazttha stopped him. "How did you get in here?"

He shut his eyes. "God! You ask too many questions. It's a long story but turns out...four mere palace guards aren't able to face a single fang. Jeez they need to tighten security really."

Mohieazttha hummed and rolled her eyes. "Cocky I shouldn't have asked." She said under her breath.

"I heard that."

"Yeah yeah whatever. We can leave now."

"Hope you're good with swords?" He asked with a smile. YEAH a smile.

"Ha! I thought you'd never ask. It's been a while since I fought actual humans..."
