The duo left the campsite as soon as it was dawn, even when they were exhausted. As Geraldt had deduced, the creatures that resided in the dungeon were nocturnal, so if they were going to find the return stones to escape the dungeon, they had to move in the daytime.
Geraldt led the way with his tracking skills and his knowledge while she provided backup and pointed out what he missed with her intuition.
It was a strenuous effort with both members going at it for hours on end, exploring most of the central plains with no results before venturing into the forests on the south.
They both decided against going towards the eastern side as they didn't want to take their chances with the ascendant, even if it was asleep by the day time.
If the forest failed to provide any decent results, they would think about exploring the eastern side.
