"Everything is so bright, where am I?"
that was the first thought, he had as he opened his eyes. Raising his body up to survey the area he was in all he could see was an empty room in white shining colour
"Hello there, and welcome to the order"
Correction he wasn't alone, he wasn't even sure how he missed whoever it was that made that voice, but he was sure something was wrong.
'I don't remember, I don't remember anything '.
Turning to face the voice that spoke to him earlier he asked
"Who are you? Who am I? Why don't I remember anything?"
He really was confused, even as he gazed upon the woman who he now confirmed was the one who had spoken to him earlier.
She had silver hair and her pupils had a silver shade to them, she wore a black gown with her hair covered, somewhat of a nun outfit.
Her voice sounded soothing like a mother's tune, yet could do nothing to calm the anxiety growing in his heart. He looked at her hoping for an explanation.
But he failed to notice the faint wrinkle in her brows.
'This is quite complicated, but there's nothing I can do about it'
Thought the nun to herself.
******
She had a strange feeling to walk the woods on the other side of the village earlier today, perhaps it was one of the whims of the God they served or just another one of the rare occurrences of her womanly intuition working at its best.
Behold not too deep into the woods, she found young man laying on the ground not too far from the trails. The strange part was that a silver wolf was lying not too far from him as if to keep watch over the youth and prevent anyone from approaching.
"Come closer, I see you received the call"
That was the voice she heard in her head, It wouldn't be the first time she heard such as an Oracle of the order. But this the first time she would get to hear such a voice outside of a temple or a site of power, she looked around to see if there was something that could serve as a point of contact with the heavenly realm and eventually locked eyes with the wolf.
"Perhaps the wolf"
She thought noticing the silver coat, with a slight bow, she uttered
"The oracle listens"
She didn't dare raise her head anymore, if the wolf was what she thought it was perhaps locking eyes with it was already a sin.
"Worry not"
The voice resounded in her head, as if it heard her thoughts
"Look after the boy, take him, protect him until the time is right, teach him. My work is done, I take my leave"
The voice continued.
A slight shudder ran through the nun's spine, 'perhaps the Lord has decided to act once more, but it is not my place to have such thought' so she asked
"What shall I tell him when he awakens? Will you not see him and what answer do I give when requests for you?"
A faint silence pervaded the area but she still did not look up to see if the one she was speaking to was still there, his powerful presence alone was confirmation to her.
"When the time is right, we shall meet again, until then"
And the presence abruptly vanished. Staying in the position for a while before she lifted her head to gaze upon the one on the floor.
"As he wills"
She muttered under her breathe
"I'm sorry for any inconvenience you might be facing"
The nun said snapping out of her thoughts. She looked at the young man in front of her as he got in a seated position right in front of her.
He had dark hair and dark eyes, his body seemed to be just alright, couldn't be said to be fit or shabby, just a right balance between muscle and fat but definitely had areas it needed to be improved on.
His hair was long enough to cover his eyes on the front while the sides and the back were flowing down to the base of his neck. Perhaps she had lingered on his appearance a little too long as his expression seemed to be that of discomfort.
"I am Daria, a priestess of the order of faith, I serve as the oracle of the Lord, and we found you outside of the forest laid on the floor"
She didn't tell him of the encounter with the wolf, she didn't deem it necessary as he did't ask, but that was the least of the young man's worries.
"Thank you priestess, for rescuing me and bringing me here but I can't remember anything at all"
The young man finally said after he listened to the explanations of the priestess. His vision was finally clearing up and the fog in his clearing, his eyes unfocused for a few seconds before he finally mutured
"Noah, that's my name, Noah".
Perhaps not everything was forgotten Daria thought to herself, atleast he remembers his name and he hasn't forgotten the language
"Please calm down, and since you are in a better situation, how about you take a walk with me, I'll answer any questions you have to the best of my ability?"
Daria had performed a check on the young man Noah during the time he was unconscious and found out he had no injuries, perhaps he had fallen in that state from exhaustion or the wolf had put him in that state on purpose. But how was she to treat someone with obvious lapses in his memories.
'let your will be done, I can atleast raise him like we do the others here'
Oblivious to the thoughts going through Daria's mind, Noah could only follow after the priestess. Apart from his name and his age he had no other information about himself, he really had no idea what was going on and hoped the priestess could at least help him out.
Following her out of the room the walked through a corridor before reaching a set of stairs that seemed to snake upwards
'Hmm, seems we're underground, that seems to explain the inherent lack of windows'.
Stepping on the last set of stairs he found himself in a hall with a lot of space and a few people moving about.
Everywhere looked so pure and holy with the colors of white and silver all mixed together. Those who noticed the priestess gave a slight bow to her before continuing with whatever it was they were doing.
'It seems he's to deep in his own thoughts to even have a good glance of whats going on around him'
Daria couldn't help but chuckle to herself at the thought of that. They were currently in the main hall of the temple and the ones who were inside were the chosen, those ordained by their lord to serve as his hands and feet in the human realm.
Although this was a small temple with only a few chosen they still provided a lot of services but now was not the time to explain this.
"Follow after me please"
Daria reminded Noah as she responded to the fellow chosen before leading him into an office at one end of the temple. It seems that this was her personal office. She sat down and offered him a seat at the opposite side of the table before declaring
"Now shall we get started"
