Lyle chuckled. "Well, let's just say the wheels have been set in motion. The empire is a vast chessboard, and we're merely playing our pieces strategically."
Ikram sighed. "I must admit, this is quite a bit more intricate than any covert operation I've been part of. But if it's for the good of the empire, count me in."
With their alliance solidifying, they decided to disperse for the night, each returning to their respective quarters. The air outside was cool, and the moon hung high in the sky, casting a gentle glow over the empire's capital.
Lyle and his servants had, of course, already been given fake identities by the prince and were able to enter the capital easily. As for Ikram and Sied, they had their own way of getting in and out.
Truth be told, Lyle could have easily snuck in, as could his servants.
As Titled Knights and Mages, there were only a few places in the entire empire they couldn't infiltrate, and the capital was not one of them.
