Nicholas looked around, trying to determine the best course of action. The mist was thick, and visibility was low, making it difficult to navigate. He knew they needed to find a way out of the mist quickly before they encountered more dangerous creatures.
"I think we should try to find higher ground," Nicholas suggested. "If we can get above the mist, we might be able to get a better sense of our surroundings and find a way out."
Lyle nodded in agreement, and they began to climb a nearby hill, using vines and tree branches to pull themselves up. As they ascended, the mist began to thin, and they could see the outline of the forest below them.
Even though they had the item that pointed them in the direction they had to go to reach Nicholas's friend, it only pointed in the friend's direction, many times they found themselves in front of trees, hills, and even monsters when walking a straight line.
