Manga summary

Opening scene, Naruto and Sasuke both attempted to destroy the ice mirrors, but were unsuccessful. This turn of events led Kakashi to believe that Haku was using a kekkei genkai, and that Naruto and Sasuke had no chance of winning. Because of this, he once again revealed his Sharingan, expressing his desire to finish the battle quickly as he is not sure whether zabuza have secretly hiding or not. Zabuza explained that he had learned how to defeat the Sharingan, and disappeared into the mist. As Kakashi instructed Sakura to guard Tazuna and hinata to fight Siff, Zabuza struck, revealing to Kakashi that Zabuza was now attacking with his eyes closed, making the Sharingan's ocular genjutsu useless. Zabuza, explaining that was specialty is killing people based purely on sound, attempted to finish off Tazuna, but Kakashi made himself into a human shield at the last second. Then the Kakashi turn into log showing he had substitute with tazuna . To end the fight quickly ,Kakashi resorted to using one of the attack that he himself had created.

Meanwhile, the fight between Haku and Naruto and Sasuke continued, with the two genin having sustained heavy wounds. Sasuke, however, was starting to dodge Haku's attacks. Haku, noticing this, attempted to attack an exhausted Naruto instead, but Sasuke managed to pull Naruto out of way. A shocked Haku noticed Sasuke's eyes, and it was revealed that, as a member of the Uchiha clan, Sasuke had finally awoken his own kekkei genkai, the Sharingan, which enabled him to see Haku's movements with ease. Haku, fearing for his success at winning the battle, goes for a finishing blow upon Naruto, but Sasuke rushes to Naruto's side to stop the attack with his own body. Only to be substituted by another Naruto.

Scenes change and we see that another Naruto has appeared along side hinata to take down Siff. Hinata actives her byuakugan and locates Siff through mist , but notices that there is chakra around in mist or in better term smoke. Naruto with more of his clone tries to double team and stab Siff only for them to pass through her. Hinata who is looking notices that Siff chakra is some how turning in smoke. Outside Kakashi who notices this and recalles fighting some similar and 2+2 together also concludes that she is member of Iburi Clan . A clan that lives underground secluded in land of fire once. They can turn themselves as smoke and still physically interact with surrounding. Back to hinata and Naruto who fighting together against Siff with no better outcome. Hinata quickly analysis that Siff have bloodline related to smoke and together with Naruto clone uses wind attack on her from all side . Siff unable to keep a balance of herself decided to finally take seriously and not play around start attacking them with her poison daggers. Hinata and Naruto are on their knees poisoned barely able to move. Hinata is about to give when Naruto voice rang out that even in such he will never give up . Hinata hearing Naruto get a new confidence rushing in her and she defends both of them with hyuga taijutsu: Rotation against Siff . Siff keep on attacking and slowly rotation began to slowdown. Use the opportunity Siff is about to stab them only for both of them only for both of them to explode in smoke . Then out of nowhere hinata comes and uses 32 tigram on Siff. Some moments ago , when rotation was slowing down , Naruto suddenly grabs hinata and substitute with transformed clones . Making it look like both have fallen into her attack only for letting her gaurd down so hinata could stop her chakra points . Tired hinata was about fell on the floor only to be caught by Naruto. Naruto pickes her and run to the ice mirror where hinata see sasuke and Naruto are fighting haku . Confused hinata turn on and become suprised that all this time it was Naruto clones who were fighting along side her and Sasuke. Real Naruto is not present on the bridge to begin with .

Now back to Naruto, after help inari Naruto meets Kakashi clone who Kakashi left incase gato try to pull out something and he was right . Clone Kakashi asks naruto to send 50 clones on the bridge to help his team while they transformed themself into thugs that we're sended by gato and his clone into tazuna family. Both of them infiltrated gato company and thug hideout. Frees all the civilian who were forced as slave in mines along with tazuna 's son who is still alive( not kazia). While searching for documents and proofs against gato , Naruto comes to know about gato plan on crossing Zabuza with some other shinobi he hired. Naruto inform this to clone Kakashi. With all this Clone Kakashi orders Naruto to return back to bridge while he pops into smoke returning his memory to Original. 

Back at the bridge , sasuke was about to use himself as body shield in order to save Naruto when suddenly grab by a hand who substitute with him . The person then exploded cracking some of the ice mirror but reconstructed haku. Then he notices that it's Naruto who pulled him out of the mirror. Naruto shouted that they don't need to fight anymore but before he could complete his sentence, haku attacked him with senbon to knock him out. Sasuke pushes Naruto out of the projectiles and hit by all the senbon .

Naruto on ground when asked why Sasuke had saved him, he replied that it was merely instinct, and fell into Naruto's arms. After admitting that he had promised not to die before killing his brother, Sasuke fell unconscious, and Haku asked Naruto whether it was the first time he had witnessed death.

Naruto, enraged by the apparent loss of Sasuke, began to emit a visible chakra, and Haku noted that it was pure evil. As the chakra poured out, he hair spiked out, acquired claws, fangs, and slitted pupils and unpronounced domination aura fell on the bridge. Zabuza and Kakashi both sensed this new chakra, and each initially wondered whether it belonged to the other jōnin, but Zabuza noted that the chakra was far too powerful to belong to Kakashi, and Kakashi was able to recognise it as that of the Nine-Tailed Fox. Kakashi, worried that the seal keeping the nine-tailed fox within Naruto would break soon, decided to pull out all of the stops, and drew a scroll, smeared his blood on it, and told Zabuza that they should now end the battle. Talking with him is out of questions now in this situation.

A transformed Naruto began to attack Haku, who attempted to counter with a barrage of needles, which were easily repelled by Naruto's roar. Haku attempted a physical attack, but Naruto was able to dodge it and grab the now fleeing Haku in an instant. After releasing a large amount of chakra, Naruto gave Haku a deafening punch in the face, sending him flying through a nearby mirror and destroying all the other mirrors as a result. Once Haku's body came to a stop, he rose, and Naruto charged at her so that he could give the finishing blow but by hinata was been stopped. She told him that sasuke is not dead , putted in death like states. Earlier hinata took the body of sasuke removed senbons . She then took unconscious sasuke to Sakura to keep an eye on him along side defending Tazuna. As he did so, Haku's mask began to crack and break away, revealing the face of the girl whom Naruto had met in the woods. Mere inches from Haku's face, Naruto stopped his attack and returned to his normal form. Haku questioned why Naruto is sparing him, only to receive a weak punch to the face. Haku explained that with her defeat had come her uselessness to Zabuza, and that, because she could no longer protect Zabuza, her most precious person, she should die. Naruto didn't understand this reason for wanting death, but Haku began to plead for it nonetheless. Then haku have a flash back and explain of bloodline slaughter in hidden mist and how she was orphaned along side Siff who meet a similar fate in Mist . Siff family abandoned land of fire to leave a peaceful life in land of water where due to bloodline, her family was slaughtered. Zabuza was one of the rebel who gone against kiri in order to end rule of fourth mizukage and saved them while on run.

With the bloodstained scroll, Kakashi summoned a number of dogs to find and restrain Zabuza. Explaining that he had allowed Zabuza to injure him slightly so that he could acquire Zabuza's scent, Kakashi proclaimed that this would finally be the end of Zabuza. With that, Kakashi gathered chakra in his hand, and readied his Chidori for use on Zabuza. 

Kakashi was about to stab zabuza with Chidori when came to an halt by Sakura shout. Suddenly Sakura out of nowhere appeared behind Zabuza who had unknowingly let his gaurd down and punch unconsciously scattering three of ribs. Sakura then begin to tell Kakashi about what she heard from Haku while Naruto was fighting. Zabuza pissed and about to chop Sakura for punching him . When everyone came to an halt hearing a large amount of foot steps.

Elsewhere, Inari was going door-to-door in an attempt to rally support for taking down Gatō and his men. The villagers, not wanting to fight back anymore, refused, to which Inari replied that he would protect those that he loved as crying wouldn't save anyone. Once he got he, Inari's mother pleaded for him not to go against gato but Inari insisted that, as Kaiza's son, he must fight. As he left the house, Inari was startled to find many shadowy figures surrounding his door. The civilian who had be captured as slaves have came to join inari in his rebel against gato.

As Zabuza's defencelessness and tireness was made apparent, Gatō and his forces including 6 chunin C rank and 2 A rank AMBU level bounty hunter shinobi arrived to take the assassination of Tazuna into their own hands. As Zabuza and Kakashi decided that they no longer have a reason to fight each other. Gatō noticed that Tazuna is still alive .

Seeing this he order this goons to bring tazuna family as hostages( Naruto transformed clones). Gato then insult Zabuza along with haku and Siff as nothing more than tools also how after all of this he will sell all the girl as slave after his fun . Goons began to snicker at the thought. Haku and Siff looked down , Naruto notices this.

This, coupled with Zabuza's indifference, infuriated Naruto, leading him to decide that Zabuza is still his enemy. Naruto explained how Haku and Siff had felt about Zabuza, and how they had done anything within in their power to serve Zabuza. After Naruto cries out how even some day Haku and Siff would have died as a tool that had never achieved her dreams in order to fulfill his dream .Zabuza broke into tears, admitting defeat to Naruto.

As he began to reflect upon the pureness of both's heart and the devotion that both had held towards him. Zabuza tore away the cloth covering his mouth and borrowed a kunai from Naruto. Zabuza moves upto haku and Siff held them and says how proud is he about them , his daughters. Before both could reply , give a slight chop on their shoulders knocking them out. By this time Sasuke had woken and covered up about everything that happened by sakura . Zabuza walk up to Sakura , lies both of them in front of her and asks both , Sakura and hinata to look after them . He walks upto Naruto and Kakashi asking them not to get involved in fight . Catching the kunai in his mouth and his sword in hand covered with some energy ( explained in later chapters with detail ), Zabuza charged through Gatō's forces, slaying anyone even ninjas who got in his way even while being stabbed many times .

Sakura and Naruto tries to look other side , can't see so much blood . Kakashi asks them to look at zabuza as showing there back to warrior is a great level of disrespect atleast in his last battle.

Upon reaching Gatō, Zabuza proclaimed that he would not be able to go to the same resting place as his comrades , and that he would be taking Gatō with him to hell. With that, Zabuza ended Gatō's life. Using the last of his energy, he thanked Haku and siff for everything and apologised, falling to the ground with exhaustion.

Gatō's remaining men, meanwhile, were now without a paycheck, and decided to loot the town as their payment for coming. As team 7 we're exhausted other that Kakashi and sakura, tried to figure out what to do. As an arrow fell to the ground in front of the imposing forces. Everyone's attention was drawn to its source: Inari and the entirety of the town's population, who had come to start protecting themselves. To contribute to the already intimidating forces, Naruto and Kakashi used what little chakra they have left to create what appear to be a large number of shadow clones along with Sakura who used mud bullet on goons as target practice causing the mercenaries to flee to the boat that they'd used to get to the bridge.

Kakashi approached Zabuza, who asked to see both of his unconscious daughter one last time. Kakashi complied, and laid Zabuza's broken body alongside his both adopted daughters . As snow began to fall, Zabuza asked Haku whether she was crying, and asserted that, just as both had always been by his side in life, he was now by both's side in death. With his last breath, he expressed his desire to go to the afterlife where he could forever cherish and see both of them . Kakashi remarked that Zabuza will be able to be in death.

 Zabuza were buried after Siff and haku wake up does his funeral . And Naruto, having witnessed the fate of shinobi, decided to live his life in his own way, not letting others tell him how. The bridge was completed, and Team 7 prepared to leave. As they bade farewell to Tazuna and his family, Naruto told Inari that it was okay to cry. Inari, saying he didn't want to, said the same thing to Naruto, who also said he didn't want to. As Naruto walked away, both broke into tears, causing Sakura to call them both idiots. As they all disappeared into the distance, Tazuna proclaimed that the bridge would be called the Great Naruto Bridge to signify the strength that Naruto gave Inari and changes he brought in Zabuza who in turn spread it to the whole town. Siff and haku walk to a different path following there father will to join Kiri rebel forces , once Zabuza talked about .
