Master Berlin And Augen-oniisan

"Mifumi-sama, Felin, please don't say anything about the monsters' room to Misaki-sensei."

"Sheesh... I know, Vier-chan. Besides, as long as Arenea-sensei is looking out for those monsters, nothing will happen. But next time do it outside the town."

"Arenea-sensei is super strong, she can beat those monsters easily."

"Thank you Mifumi-sama, Felin. If Misaki-sensei learned about this I'm sure she'll hang me again."

After leaving Master Arenea's shop, our group is now headed towards Master Berlin's shop which is located in the southern part of our town.

Master Berlin is a famous Blacksmith of the Elemental Dwarf Race and a High-Rank Forgemaster of the Adventurers Guild. But even though he is super famous, he doesn't decline any commission from rookie adventurers like us. After all, he's also one pof our teachers at the Adventurers School.

Since there is no Mine-type Dungeon around the Green-Dale town territory, Master Berlin can't make many weapons here in our town. His work is mostly focused on the maintenance of the Mana-Train Railroad and doing his Dwarf-duties of healing any infected or destroyed land around our town's territory due to monster's activities.

"The Mana-Train is coming next month so the Adventurers Guild will soon start gathering adventurers for Master Berlin's escorts and to clear the monsters near the Railroad."

"Then maybe we should join Berlin-sensei's escort after the Exam, right Vier-chan, Felin-chan?"

"Mhm! I also want to fight the monsters in there and I want to see Berlin-sensei fighting."

"Well, since I'm one of Master Berlin's apprentice, I need to help him during the inspection of the Railroad. It would be nice if you would be there too, Mifumi-sama, Felin."

Master Berlin took me as his apprentice after the Adventurers Guild and Mifumi-sama's Baron House decided to protect my identity as a Dream-Holder.

Back when my family noticed that I might be a Dream-Holder, they asked Mifumi-sama's family and Misaki-sensei for help to protect me.

Since Dream-Holders have Memory-Fragment of the 2nd-World, it means we're the ones who know how to use those 2nd-World Relics found in the Floating Islands. It also means that some greedy people might target us, hoping to gain profit by using our knowledge.

Since my family was Mifumi-sama's family retainers, they decided to help to protect my identity. With Misaki-sensei's help, the Adventurers Guild also decided to protect my identity in exchange for sharing my knowledge about those 2nd-World Relics.

That's how Master Berlin learned about my identity. He decided to take me as his apprentice and teach me blacksmithing so I could replicate those Relics.

But it's not like I know how those Relics work so I don't think I'm doing much help for the Guild or to Master Berlin.

After arriving at Master Berlin's shop, we enter and find Augen-oniisan working at the shop counter... Huh?...

"Ohh!... Vier, Felin-chan, Mifumi-sama welcome! Are you here to buy something?"

"Why are you here, Augen-oniisan?"

"Did you start working for Berlin-sensei, Augen-oniisan?"

"You're not an adventurer anymore, Augen-oniisan?"

"Wait... Just one question at a time, okay?"

"""Why?!"""

The three of us were quite surprised to see my second eldest brother working at Master Berlin's shop.

Augen-oniisan is also an adventurer like me and he has taught our group many things about the ways of being an adventurer. He and his group are Iron-Rank adventurers... Wait, that's not important. What matters is why he is here. Did he quit being an Adventurer and decided to work for Master Berlin?

"Jeez... First, I'm still an adventurer Felin-chan. Second, Berlin-sensei posted a helper request at the Guild and since my group is off today, I decided to take the job. That's why I'm working here Mifumi-sama. And third, Vier, didn't I tell you at the house this morning that I will be working here at Berlin-sensei's shop?"

"Huh?... Did you say something like that, Augen-oniisan?"

"I guess you're still half asleep while eating breakfast."

"Of course not! I remember we had egg, bacon, and fried rice this morning for breakfast!"

"Jeez... That was yesterday's breakfast!"

"Huh?"

"Anyway, if you're all looking for Berlin-sensei, he is at the forge building in the back of the shop. Just go there if you need something from him."

"Okay, we'll go there now."

"Thank you, Augen-oniisan."

"Bye-bye, Augen-oniisan."

"How do you eat while half asleep, Vier-chan?"

"Hmmm... I don't know. I can't remember, Mifumi-sama."

After leaving the shop building, we move towards the backyard where the forge building is.

Master Berlin's forge is a wide building located at the back of his shop. It contains many rooms with many facilities and equipment that a Blacksmith, Leatherworker, Crafter, and Forgemaster would need for all of their work.

...CLANG!...

That's the sound of someone hammering. Is Master Berlin doing some work? I wonder if it's okay for us to come in.

...Knock!...knock!...knock!...

"Master Berlin! It's Vier, Felin, and Mifumi-sama can we come in?"

"Just come in kids, I'm doing something right now."

"it's alright for us to be here if you're doing something, Berlin-sensei?"

"Are we disturbing your work Berlin-sensei?"

"It's alright kids, I'm not doing something complicated. I'm just reinforcing the Magic-Circuit in these Magic-Swords."

Master Berlin shows us the two Magic-Swords he's currently working with. The first one is a red sword and the second one is a crystal sword.

"The red sword looks strong but the other one looks weird."

Well, that's the simplest description of those two Magic-Swords. Good job, Felin.

"What kind of materials are those MagicSwords made from, Master?"

"This red Magic-Sword is made from the Fangs and Claws with the Monster-Core of the monster called Crimson-Hound."

"That is a Rank-5 monster! Did a Silver-Rank adventurer ask you to make this Berlin-sensei?"

Mifumi-sama is right. It's a High-Level Magic-Sword so the owner is probably a Silver-Rank or Gold-Rank adventurer. However, I got another suspicion as to who is the owner of these Crimson-Hound Magic-Sword.

"This is a private request so I can't tell you any information about them. You understand that, right kids?"

"We understand Berlin-sensei."

"Mhm! Private means secret!"

"Next is this crystal Magic-Sword. It is made from Shards with the Monster-Core of the monster called Crystal-Golem. It is a monster that can be ranked between Rank-3 to Rank-5 depending on how much Mana the Crystal-Golem monster has."

Even if Master Berlin doesn't tell us the people who asked him to make those Magic-Swords, I think I already have an accurate guess about the two people who are going to use those.

The Rank-5 Crimson-Hound is a Flame-Element base monster and the higher variant of the Rank-4 Flame-Hound monster. Just one week ago, our group met an Idiot who owned a Flame-Hound Magic-Sword and I'm 99.99 percent sure that he is the one who asked Master Berlin to make that Crimson-Hound Magic-Sword.

Considering him being the Burden King, I'm quite impressed that his Attribute in Flame-Element has the Affinity that allows him to use the Rank-5 Crimson-Hound Monster-Core.

Next is the Crystal-Golem which is a Light-Element base monster. There are not many people who have an Attribute for Light-Element, so I'm 100 percent sure that the Imbecile, Mr. Burden No.1, is the owner of this Crystal-Golem Magic-Sword.

Since Light-Element base monsters are mostly HighRank monsters, a person with an Attribute with Light-Element will have a hard time finding Light-Element base Monster-Materials and Monster-Core.

Light-Element users might have a disadvantage in terms of weapons but their output in Magic is very highly efficient like the Elemental Elf, Dwarf, and Undine. Also, if they enhance their body using Mana-Flow they will have incredible strength like the Guardian Beastkin, Phoenixkin, and Serpentkin

But even with all of those talents, all they did during the cover-up quest was act like an idiot/imbecile and become a burden to the group and to their friend, Ms. Karna.

"Felin-chan, look at Vier-chan. She's doing the cat-staring face again."

"Mhm! Vier, stop thinking weird things."

Felin and Mifumi-sama then held my shoulders and gave me a shake which brought back my thoughts from thinking about the owner of those Magic-Swords.

"Anyway, do you need something from me, kids?"

Ohh!... Right. We have our reason for visiting Master Berlin's shop today.

"Master, do you have any new weapons for Felin and Sorceress-Staff for Mifumi-sama?"

"For the Mana-Steel Dagger and Knife, the Monster-Materials I'm planning to use will arrive together with the ManaTrain next month. So you have to take the Exam using them."

"Mhm! I'll do my best using them."

"And the Four Attributes Sorceress-Staff can withstand all four Elements of Wind, Flame, Water, and Ground Monster-Core up to Rank-3, so unless you find a Rank-4 or higher Monster-Core you don't need to replace that. Just keep using that Rank-3 Sorceress-Staff."

"I understand. Thank you, Berlin-sensei."

"And what about you kid? Are you planning to make any new Mana-Tech or Magic-Item for the Exam?"

"We have a new Monster-Core from the Rank-2 Light-Eater monster but I'm still thinking about how to use it."

"It's the monster that has the Shadow-Curtain skill right? Can't you just use that like those Light-Grenade and Sound-Grenade Mana-Tech that you made before?"

"But we only have one of it. What if we can't recover it after throwing it during the battle?"

"Just use it for trial, your group can hunt more Light-Eater monsters during your travels or after you arrive at the Floating Island of Liber."

"Okay. I will follow your advice then, Master Berlin."

I guess there are no new weapons for Felin or new Sorceress-Staff for Mifumi-sama. All that's left for us to do today is to check the Open Market. Maybe we will find something good there.

"By the way kid, do you have any new dreams about those 2nd-World Relics?"

Ohh!... I almost forgot. I'm supposed to tell the Adventurers Guild, especially to Master Berlin if I see a new Relic in my dreams of Memory-Fragment. Hmmm... Any new Relic?... Hmmm... Ohh!... There's that one!

"Mhm. I did see a new one in my dream last week."

"It's already been a week. Why didn't you say anything to the Guild and me, kid?"

"We're quite busy last week so I forgot."

"Did you dream of a new story, Vier-chan? When did it happen? Why didn't you tell us about it?"

"What kind of story it is, Vier?"

"It's on the day when you're so excited about the new ArtPhone, Mifumi-sama. So I kind of forgot to tell both of you. And it's not a new story, it's the continuation of the story about Mister Soldier and those Undead humans."

Upon hearing what story it was, Mifumi-sama grabbed both of my shoulders and shook me back and forth like she couldn't wait to hear the continuation of that story.

"Tell us what happened, Vier-chan!"

"Relax, Mifumi-sama. Stop shaking me, I'm getting dizzy."

"Vier, Did Mister Soldier become an Undead?"

"No... Felin... If that... happened... the story... would... be over... Mifumi-sama... please stop... Ugh!..."

Aside from the Immortal Witch story, Mifumi-sama likes this kind of story the most. She always gets excited when it comes to scary stories that I see in my dreams... Wait... Does Felin want Mr. Soldier to become Undead?

After Mifumi-sama calmed down, she stopped shaking me and let go of my shoulders.

"I'm sorry, Vier-chan. I got too excited to know what happens in the story."

"It's okay, Mifumi-sama. I will tell you what happened later."

"Mhm! We want to know if Mister Soldier became an Undead."

"I think you misunderstood what the story is about, Felin."

"Hmmm?"

"If the three of you are done with your talk? Can you tell me now what kind of Relic did you see, kid?"

"It's the vehicle that can fly in the sky. I was finally able to ride it, see what was inside, and fly in the sky."

"Ohh!... You mean that Aero-Plane Relic, right? Good work, kid! It's nice that you can see many Relics in your dreams. So tell me kid, how did the Aero-Plane work? How can it fly in the sky? How big is the one that you see in your dreams? Did you learn what materials it is made from?..."

"Please calm down, Master Berlin. There's a lot of things happening in that dream so I don't have time to properly observe everything."

When it comes to the Relic of the 2nd-World, Master Berlin always goes crazy like this. He likes those Relics to the point that he makes Diagrams based on the records that were found in the Floating Islands.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to answer all of his inquiries about the Aero-Plane Relic so I just told them what happened in that dream.

"I see. So one of the Undead humans managed to ride the Aero-Plane. Then it turned everyone else into Undead humans."

"Mhm! Since there's a commotion inside the Aero-Plane, I didn't have the chance to observe how it works."

"And since your flying in the sky, there's no place to escape, right Vier-chan?"

"That's right, Mifumi-sama."

"How did Mister Soldier beat the monsters? Did he finally become an Undead?

"He didn't become an Undead, Felin. He destroyed the Aero-Plane using a Grenade Relic then all the Undead humans were thrown outside."

"Hmmm?"

"If he did that, then the Aero-Plane would fall to the ground, right kid?"

"Mhm! It was a really scary experience, even if it's only a dream."

"If that happened, how did Mister Soldier survive, Vier-chan?"

"I don't know, Mifumi-sama. All I remembered was me screaming so loud like crazy then at the moment it crashed into the ground, and next thing I know was me falling in my bed and waking up."

"Falling from the sky while riding the Aero-Plane Relic, that's a good experience, kid."

"What?... It's not, Master Berlin."

"Berlin-sensei is right. I wish there was a way for us to experience that as well."

"No, Mifumi-sama. We will be goners if we do that."

"Maybe Misaki-sensei can do something like that."

"You're right, Felin-chan. Maybe Grandma can do something like that."

"Wait! Misaki-sensei might toss us in the sky using her Magic then catch after. But I don't want to experience that again."

"Let's go, Mifumi-sama, Vier. Let's ask Misaki-sensei!"

"Mhm! Grandma should be at the Adventurers Guild by this time. Let's go."
