Chapter 33 - The Truth

School time ended quickly. And Ryousuke, with the promise to meet Mayu, walked towards the place where they decided to meet. When he got there, he didn't see Sayaka Mayu, which meant she still hadn't arrived. So, he waited for her.

"I'm thirsty"

He stood up and bought a drink at the vending machine beside the bench, *pip. This time he decided to choose Cace Calu, a soda drink. Strange, he only bought one Cace Calu, but two came out instead. Did he have something like a hidden power to get two drinks when only buying one?

Meh, maybe he was just lucky. Again.

He uncapped the bottle of Cace Calu and drank it, while waiting for Mayu to arrive. Well, speaking of clubs, usually the drama club would start their activities 30 minutes to an hour after school ended. Since they had quite a lot of members, and usually their president liked to come a bit late.

He didn't know about other clubs, maybe they did it immediately after all the members gathered, or according to the schedule. One thing for sure, for now he wasn't in too much of a hurry to go to the book club right away, because if they left right away, it might still not be going on when they arrived.

"Pip, sorry to keep you waiting, Toru-kun" as he was thinking, a hand suddenly tapped him on the back. Then he realized that it was Sayaka Mayu, who was currently standing in front of him.

"It's okay. We're not in a hurry anyway" he replied.

"Oh yeah, this is for you. I happened to get two, so you can have them" he also handed over the other Cace Calu which he hadn't opened yet. "Thanks!" Mayu replied. She happily took the soda with a smile on her face.

Ryousuke nodded, then continued. "Mayu-san, since the book club probably hasn't started their activities yet, I guess we should wait here first."

"Yeah, I know. Midori-chan already went to her club right after the bell, but maybe she's just too diligent" Sayaka Mayu agreed.

They waited for about thirty minutes before they thought that it was enough, and they went towards the book club room.

"It's right over there. We just have to go to the third floor in the corner" Mayu explained.

At first, he thought that the book club must be near the school library. After all, that was where he had met Kawajima last week, and for some reason, he thought it would be more suitable there as well. But it seemed that it was no different from the other clubs. It was on the third floor, which was the floor that contained the rooms of the various clubs.

The two of them went up to the third floor of the school building, then walked towards the left corner of the corridor. They also passed through many doors that were other club rooms. 'carving club', 'Photography club', 'astronomy club', 'sewing club', and at the end, they saw it. The door with the label 'book club' on it.

"We've arrived" Sayaka Mayu said, slightly lowering her voice. Maybe she didn't want the people inside to hear her.

Ryousuke nodded, and Mayu continued to approach the door of the club. "Psst, hide your steps. Let's try to hear them from outside, just in case" Mayu, while slightly bending down, put her ear on the club door.

Ryousuke just followed. He too, walked slowly as silently as he could and put his ear to the door.

And, they both heard it.

"A-san, isn't today supposed to be your part to serve in the library~?" (??? B )

"Yes, that's right. A-senpai, you should have gone today! We all feel a bit lonely here, without 'her', you know~"(??? C)

The two of them heard that there seemed to be some girl voices talking to each other from inside. They seemed to be enjoying their conversation.

'Is the person that girl is referring to...' Ryousuke thought. One of the girls said that 'her' not being in the club made them a little lonely. Although she spoke in a coquettish tone that was somehow annoying. If what the girl meant by 'her' was Kawajima, and what she said was true that they were lonely, then maybe this club was indeed good.

'Wait... Don't jump to conclusions too quickly. We still need more information' he reminded himself.

The other girl inside, hearing her words, started laughing out loud.

"Hahahaha! Hahaha~ You're really funny Kouhai C-chan. Do you think I want to serve in that library? Especially with that annoying old lady around? No way~" (member A)

"ehh~~ but~, so we can't have fun with her, and I also still want to bother that girl"( member C)

"It's okay, Kouhai C-chan. We still have plenty of time to make that ugly girl suffer" (member B)

"That's right, Kouhai C-chan. Just let her serve in the library with that old Lady. I can't stand seeing that ugly face of hers here" (member D)

"Well, I guess it's okay? Um!"(member C)

"hey, don't talk so much about that ugly girl. Instead of that, let's go to the cafeteria. Look~~ we also have a good catch today from her~" (girl E)

"Wooah! Just as expected from you! Hahh... This world is so unfair. How come ugly girls like her are living on a lot of money" (member B)

Hearing what the girls had just said inside, Ryousuke and Mayu could only cover their mouths in shock. What they both heard, could already be said to be the biggest proof they could have that indeed, the other members of the book club had bullied Kawajima.

Ryousuke tried to remain calm and assess the situation with a cool head. He thought about the words of the girls inside, which clearly said that they had indeed bullied Kawajima. Then, he looked at the girl beside him,

"?... Mayu-san? " he called out softly.

What he saw in front of him was a girl, who undoubtedly, currently had a face that resembled a demon.

No no, demon is too much. Well.., anyway her face was so scary that he thought that way.

Sayaka Mayu, the girl who usually appeared with a cheerful and relaxed feel as if she didn't care about anything in the world. Except for food.

That Sayaka Mayu, now had a very angry expression. Her relaxed aura disappeared and was replaced with an aura of burning anger. Look at that... Even her eyes are starting to lose their light...

Otto, now that girl even started to grind her teeth. It was as if she was holding back something that could explode at any time inside her.

'Not good!' thinking quickly, Ryousuke was about to grab the angry Mayu. But before he could do that, Sayaka Mayu had already opened the door in front of him.

*bang!

"YOU! HOW DARE YOU FUC*ING HURT MY PRECIOUS FRIEND!!!"

The demon was already raging, and Ryousuke didn't think he could stop it.
