Rise of Luo Ping

There was a commotion in the Gu Worm Academy, where the peak rank 1 Gu Master, Jiang Ya, distributes weekly resources to the students.

"Mo Bei, the Class Chairman, is to receive 10 primeval stones", he shouted.

Shi Feng and Tang Chi, both Vice Chairmen, received 5 primeval stones each, while Luo Ping received only 3. These primeval stones are critical for the students' growth since resources, not just talent, limit their cultivation progress.

After Mo Bei, Fang Zheng, and Chi Chen, Luo Ping was the first to break through to the next level, thanks to the additional primeval stones he has earned. Thereafter, only Shi Feng, Tang Chi and three other students managed to break through. However, Mo Bei's protection fees and Luo Ping's banditry hinder the students' growth.

Mo Bei waits until everyone has received their share of primeval stones before making an announcement.

"Those who wish to leave with me, unharmed, it is time to pay up. I will wait for five more minutes and then I will leave!", he shouted

Forty-six students stand up with apprehension, knowing that if they don't give Luo Ping their primeval stones or pay Mo Bei, they risk being beaten up and lose even more primeval stones. Fang Zheng was strong enough to protect himself, and Chi Chen has enough connections to make Luo Ping think twice before extorting him. However, the rest are easy prey.

As always, Luo Ping would ambush them on the academy ground, beat them until they faint, and take two out of the three primeval stones they received from Jiang Ya. It's clear that primeval stones are in short supply, and most students use them up quickly.

For most households, the primeval stones they receive are equivalent to growth, as they're the limiting factor in their cultivation progress. It's a tough situation for the students, and without primeval stones, their cultivation progress is slow.

This goes to show the importance of resources in one's growth and how a lack of resources can hinder progress. The students are at a disadvantage because of their circumstances, and it's evident that they need more support to succeed.

Mo Bei had already secured the heart and hope of his class, dominating them all. The teachers knew the situation, but they could do nothing about it. No one was complaining about Mo Bei, and some even praised him for protecting him from Luo Ping.

Occasionally, Luo Ping would challenge Mo Bei to test out his skills and keep the appearances, but Luo Ping would always end up defeated, even when he gave his all. However, as time passed, it became increasingly more difficult for him. The strength path obviously suited him more, and with his huge build, he now possessed more physical strength than Mo Bei, even though he still had room for growth with the white boar gu!

Mo Bei, however, had made considerable progress in proficiency with the moonlight Gu. Even without the Liquor Worm and Little Light Gu, his proficiency allowed him to suppress Luo Ping, something that even Fang Zheng could not do.

Unknown to all, the more time passed, the bigger the gap between the talented and the rest grew.
