Revenge of the half-demon cultivator on his second life.

Xie Ra was a stranger who suddenly appeared in the peaceful Yulong village out of nowhere. He had a hard time adjusting to his new environment. Being amnesic didn't make it easy for him. Under the wings of kind elder Mo Xing, Xie Ra started to believe his life would be fine from now on. But, fate seemed to have other plans. Sadly, One tragic incident forced Xie Ra to leave his village life behind. However, fate didn't stop playing with Xie Ra after this. He regained his memory and learned how unfortunate his previous life was. The innocent, childlike cultivator who just wanted to be a swordsman... What happened to him? How would he face the fact that he unjustly condemned and murdered by his own friends? Would he make peace with the fact that he was half-demon? A half-breed offspring of the ancient abyssal race? Would it be easy for him to build his cultivation crumb by crumb, from the mortal realm to above? He cannot forgive. He cannot forget. "They will pay for their sins." For the first time in his life, his smile became malicious. (PS: I don't own the drawing of the cover picture. I sadly couldn't find the artist. Bravery- The beginning of the end 4

"WU JIAN, DID YOU FIND IT YET?" Elder Wan Mingyu's voice bellowed in the room. Not only Wu Jian but Poor sect elder scared their wits out from that unexpected roar. However, both of them knew there wasn't time to get offended. Time was ticking fast as they continued to turn sect elder's room upside down.

"WU JIAN!"

"Elder, We're searching."

"HURRY UP, FOR GOD'S SAKE! I CAN'T KEEP KILL THESE MONSTERS WITH SUPPRESSED SPIRITUAL POWERS!" Elder wan Mingyu's face was red as his clothes stuck to his body with sweat and blood. His breathing pattern accelerated to the point, which made it sound more like the huffing of an exhausted creature which clearly explained his tired status. He slashed another possessed female disciple, sending her back to her already dead state.

Sect leader was shivering from his high fever as he threw everything on his cupboard casually to the floor while searching for the source that suppressed their mana inside the room. If they fail to find it soon, none of them will leave the room alive.

"Elder, There's nothing on this shelf either." Wu Jian's voice sounded so defeated, which he never heard from this pretty but arrogant boy. Nobody would guess he made a commotion on the first day Azealia people entered Phoenix city if they witnessed his current demeanor.

Elder Wan Mingyu groaned and kicked another zombie down the stairs.

If only their door was intact.

No, if Elder Mingyu didn't break down the door, both Wu Jian and he would die at the hands of an undead army surrounding them.

He checked the last drawer. Nothing was there.

"Nothing here as well, Daozhang. Guess we'll have to fight our way out." He sighed.

"B...But, we don't have any spiritual pow-"

"WE DON'T HAVE ANY CHOICE... LET'S TRY OUR BEST. SECT LEADER, IF YOU CAN MAKE SOMETHING LIKE ROPE SO WE COULD CLIMB DOWN SAFELY THROUGH THE OTHER SIDE. WU JIAN, KILL THOSE THINGS IN THE BALCONY. AIM THEIR HEART OR NECK TO KILL THEM." They heard Elder Wan Migyu scream across the room to overcome the slashing noises made by his sword.

Both placed themselves as they were instructed. Sect leader was excellent at this thanks to the experiences he had when creating beast taming ropes. True, he couldn't use spiritual powers to strengthen them but, he is still qualified to make a stronghold for them to escape. Bed covers, curtains, his robes, everything had to part take in the rope-making mission.

Slash, Cling, Clatter, boom, thud, swish.

He managed to make a long rope as the other two defended him from harm. This rope has to be lengthier as possible, as they were currently trapped on the highest floor of the sect elders' pavilion. So, he didn't think twice when he grabbed his outer garment to combine with his work. However, he forgot the pin he was presented by the second elder last week.

Clang.

Crush.

"Oh no, it's finished."

Wu Jian turned his head at the crushing noise only to see a crushed pin under his boots.

"Oh shit! I'm so sorry, elde-"

"BEHIND YOU!'

Slash...

Unlike previous weak slashing sounds, this one vibrated with spiritual power. Both sword holders felt the surging waves of qi through their veins. The mana suppression was gone.

Even the sect leader experienced a huge difference in his body. The weakness that enveloped him for days started to fade away gradually. His eyes widened with realization.

"SECT ELDER, IS YOUR ROPE READY?" Wu Jian's voice brought him back to the present. Even though their powers were back, they both seemed exhausted from fighting for so long.

" Yes, Wu Ji, make some space for me to tie this."

Wu Jian's face darkened when the other pronounced his name wrong. He truly hated when people call him different names. His grip on the sword hilt tightened as he slashed the undead girl who tried to sneak attack on him. Her head rolled across the room, leaving a trail of blood.

Meanwhile, the sect leader couldn't understand what made the youth this energetic. The return of his power made him this happy? Young lads. He shook his head as his fingers tightened the knot on the railing fast and skillfully.

"DAOZHANG, WU JI, LET'S GO!"

Three of them didn't want to wait in that hellish room for a single moment anymore. So, the trio climbed down the rope. No, they slid down. After reaching the ground with bruised palms, Wu Jian asked a question.

"Elders, why didn't we use our sword to come down?"

Both elders were suddenly seemed to interested in sky. They couldn't admit that they forgot the safest way out, specially with a junior. Well, they took this decision when their mana was suppressed, didn't they?

The ground they just hoped on was so lonely compared to the other days. Not a single sect disciple was there. Some eery feeling wrapped their hearts as they entered the ground floor.

So quiet.

Then a scream pierced the air.

The trio looked at each other before rushing into the hallway to find the screamer. But before three cultivators go further into the hall, a young female cultivator raced towards them, screaming,

"RUN! THEY'RE COMING."

"Su Lin, What happened? who?"

"NO TIME TO EXPLAIN, LEADER. THERE'S SO MANY."

Wu Jian grabbed the running girl by her arm.

"What about the other girls there?"

"ALL DEAD. ALL GONE. LET'S GO. NOW!"

"Shijie*, what if there's any..."

"I'll check for survivors. Yall go."

"But, Elder Wan M-"

"Do you have any better plans, Wu Jian?" But, before he answer elder Wan Mungyu, two sharp noises appeared near his head.

Swish.

Clang.

Wu Jian paled when he saw the bloody arrow on the floor. If elder Wan Mingyu didn't block it, this arrow would embed into his brain.

"LET'S GO." Su Lin started to run.

There wasn't any need to tell twice. Three people ran out of the female dormitories as one person ran into it. Yet, Wu Jian's heart ached with each step he took away from their elder.

Elder was already exhausted from the fight. What if something happens to him?

He was so kind and caring.

Wu Jian couldn't run away like a coward when their elders ran into danger to save innocents. He obeyed what others ordered him for the most part in his life. Now, it was time to listen to his heart.

"YALL GO. SHIJIE, TAKE SENIOR TO A SAFE PLACE. WE'LL MEET LATER." He turned back and ran after the elder Wan Mingyu.

He heard the other two scream after him.

"BRAT, WHERE ARE YOU GOING? RETURN NOW!"

"YOU CAN'T BEAT THEM, SHIDI."

"DON'T BE AN IDIOT! COME BACK."

If he has to be an idiot, then let it be. He would rather be an idiot than an ungrateful piece of scum. Wu Jian gritted his teeth as he drew out his sword from the spacial ring.

*Shijie- Senior sister

**Shidi- Junior brother
