Chapter two

"How is she?" came a deep male voice.

"Mr. Zeke, she just woke up today, but we can't get any more details about her," came a female voice from the other end.

"Okay, watch her, I will come later in the evening," after he finished speaking, he hung up the phone and pressed the bell. The office door was opened and in came his assistant, Mike. "Did you get any information about her?"

"Her name is Cassie Baker, she is nineteen years old. She lives with her aunt and uncle who owns a scientific lab, that belonged to the Bakers. After they died, the uncle took over. She has missed school twice, once when she was in grade four and this." said the assistant.

Zeke gently massaged his chin with his thumbs, "so you mean she hasn't gone to school for this whole year?"

"Yes, after her uncle picked her up from school on the first day of the year, she never went back. The school said that the guardians reported that she ran away from home and hasn't been seen from that day."

"Do you think that story is adding up? Can you dig further, I am in no hurry," he said. after all, after looking around for her for fourteen years, he finally found her. Just the thought of it made him smile. "Take your time. Forward all my schedules till tomorrow, I am going to the hospital." 

Mike looked at him ," Sir, you have a blind date at the Miranda Hotel."

Zeke paused whatever he was doing , "who gave you the permission to arrange a blind date for me," he banged his hands on the office table in anger, producing a crack. One thing he hated was being scheduled to do something he was not interested in.

He trembled at the deep voice that his boss emitted, "sir, it was your father's idea."

"Cancel it, and next time when he tells you what to do, tell him I said he should mind his business!"

"Sir..."

"It's either you are working for him or me," after that, he picked up his coat and left.

At the hospital, Cassie had gone back to sleep a few minutes after the nurse had left, but in her sleep she started seeing images. The images were not familiar to her, it was like she was watching someone else's life and it made her feel terrible. The girl in her dream had the same face as hers and their name was the same. The same pain that the woman in her dream faced, she faced it too, it felt so real that she wanted to escape the dream, but it was as if she could not escape, she was stuck there like a glue. It became too long and too painful that she started trembling, then the girl tried to run away when suddenly, something hit the back of her head causing her to wake up from her sleep.

The moment Cassie's heartbeat had increased the nurses received the warning and had rushed in the room, at the same time, Zeke had also arrived, "what's going on, did I not tell you to take good care o her?"

"Sir, Miss Cassie was fine a while ago, the fever has just started acting up." Mary, the nurse who was left in charge of Cassie reported. She could not look at him in his face, in fact not many people could do that, everyone was afraid of him. Just the thought of his presence in the room would make one tremble.

"Do your job properly, I give you ten minutes to reduce her fever," he sat down at the far end of the couch not caring to bother with the doctor and the nurse who were shaking, "and make sure you do it well," he concluded without blinking.

After a few minutes of struggling with no results, they did not know how to break it down to Zeke that the fever was increasing instead of decreasing. When they were at the verge of loosing hope, they saw her wake up, her eyeballs had popped out as if they seen a ghost and the next thing she did was punch the doctor right at his face, making him fall backwards with a thud!
