chapter 86

N/A: If I'm being honest with you, the truth is that I had lost the motivation to write this story, for that reason I only wrote the chapters out of obligation for not leaving without chapters for a long time, but I think I'm getting back to love the story so you're not going to get rid of me.

PS: I just wrote this chapter on August 26th, practically two weeks after the previous chapter I wrote of this story.

Chapter 86

[several hours later]

(Pov Rebecca)

The lights flickered in the quiet hallway in front of Rebecca, the spotlights that were in charge of lighting the entire hallway playing a trick on Rebecca's experience in that place.

It seemed like a bad joke, but all the lights began to flicker in an attempt to keep shining to light up the hallway.

"I'm going to get revenge on Ethan" Rebecca said in an attempt to stand her ground, his stay on his first step that was supposed to lead him to find his father, wasn't going well at all.

Rebecca "Where is Ethan when you need him, look I believed his words...I will protect you were words that really made me feel safe in this hell, but I think that's when I made the worst mistake of my life...I never depended on anyone and solved most of my problems by myself without anyone's help..."

*sigh* "I think throughout my stay I became a girl too dependent on others, I spent most of my life alone after my father disappeared and in all that time I didn't depend on anyone but myself to take care of me, while I felt lonely and now have nightmares I still took care of myself when I had a problem...Rebecca chambers is not a girl who needs to be taken care of by anyone but herself."

Rebecca's resolve was stronger than ever, she seemed to have woken up from the dream she had been going through all the time since the beginning of the disaster in the lab, Rebecca's metamorphosis had reached its final stage.

"Now I must find a way off this floor" Rebecca commented as she resumed her walk, her instincts were now on high alert she no longer had to rely on someone to look after her so all her training in the S.T.A.R.S. forces could finally shine to its fullest.

* Sound

Rebecca's footsteps made themselves heard as she began to reach an area that was apparently more technological, which caught her off guard.

"What's going on here..." Rebecca questioned herself as she began to stomp harder on the floor, only to hear the impact of her boot echoing off the metal of the floor.

"Do I open wrong when I thought this was a forgotten area?" wondered Rebecca as she bent down to see what the sound of hollow metal on the floor is.

The cold and emotionless voice of the artificial intelligence caught Rebecca's attention as she briefly instinctively raised her weapon to all sides.

Rebecca's sense of panic lasted a few seconds when she found nothing anywhere, so she looked down at her feet again, to find a panel of numbers, what appeared to be a hatch greeted Rebecca the moment she saw her feet.

"What is it with the sick mind of the umbrella corporation" Rebecca said to herself as she looked at the hatch in the floor.

Practically throughout her stay in the lab Rebecca had seen a lot of technology, practically in the lab she was in you could see that umbrella had spent over billions of dollars, but the most terrifying thing was that this was just an unimportant lab for umbrella.

"Is umbrella really that powerful, isn't it just a crazy successful company? "the truth was slowly showing itself to Rebecca and it was scaring her more and more, it was impossible for a company to spend thousands of dollars just like that there was something behind umbrella that allowed it to spend so much so easily.

Sometimes ignorance was a virtue that kept many people sane, and Rebecca's head at such information begged for a rest, as she fell to the floor with no strength in her limbs.

Crazy ideas came into Rebecca's head, each one crazier than the next and each idea made the girl on the floor more afraid.

(several minutes later)

"Calm down Rebecca! (several minutes later) "Calm down Rebecca!" mentally shouting at herself was how Rebecca was able to keep calm in the face of the conspiratorial ideas running through her mind.

Sometimes a young man's mind played a trick on most young people and Rebecca almost fell into the conspiracies that were running through her mind.

*sigh*

"I did get lost in that moment."

"Whatever the truth is...my mission in meeting my father and discovering the truth of this world full of deceit."

Getting up from the ground, after her little rest Rebecca started to head somewhere else, she had to look for a key to the hatch she had found so she had a long way to go to get back to Ethan.

(N/A: as I know that most people don't read the last part where the author's note is, I'll say that Rebecca's part will last about 3 chapters or a little more until she finds the code for the hatch and then she'll move on to Ethan, I say this for those who want to see only Ethan's story).

"Let's go over objectives...I'm low on pistol and rifle bullets so I should first get some bullets that are the only way to keep me safe and then find some cures, since it's useless to have medicine knowing that I can die from some creature walking around the floor I'm on" Rebecca right now was in a room looking for some bullets for her pistol, but as she had figured there were only scientists clothes or rather gowns.

"Look at not having any guns...although that's to be imagined since they're scientists and not soldiers...it's actually a very realistic thing to have no guns or bullets in any rooms, so rooms should be crossed off the places I should be looking in."

"How I wish I had a lousy map, so I could get around this place" Rebecca said angrily as she pounded in frustration on the door.

* Thump sound *

* sound*

"What was that!" said an alarmed Rebecca as she turned with her gun in hand, but to her surprise she found a passageway bursting out at her as one of the pictures fell off the wall.

"So I was skipping a few things" Rebecca said before squeezing through the narrow passageway that was as small as an air vent.

"Who thought of making this place so cramped..." Rebecca complained as she passed.

Rebecca's petite body passed right through the ventilation duct, the curves and well-proportioned body of the petite but voluptuous girl really played a trick on her as she crossed into the secret passageway.

(for those who are wondering about Ada Wong she will have a lot of prominence in resident evil 2 and after that she will be in most of the times Ethan will travel so don't worry if she is on the cover is because she will be, I just want to take care of placing the girls without rushing too much slowly).
