the beginning

"Are you sure this way is safe Ayana?" Amy asked in a quiet and weary voice.    Her breathing was soft but heavy in my frost-bit

"I walk this way home on my working days, so don't be a chicken."

I told her, to insure her that she was indeed safe, we then past the popular café I worked at every other day. It's not that I needed the money; it was just something to help keep me busy and learn the value of hard work and dedication, according to my mother. I came from a rich family, so I was never sort of paying the bill, but it's nice to be able to do it with your own money as well. We wanted to get home quickly before our parents became worried, not that mine really cared, and they were never around the house during the working months. We had to stay late because we were caught talking and passing notes to each other during lessons. Amy and I were best friends, even though I was a year younger than her. We only became friends in our first year of high school, even though we lived right next door to each other. We first met on our first day of high school.

I was sitting in our home classroom anxious about meeting all these new people, since I was home schooled until then, when a girl wearing black eye colour contacts walked up to me. She asked if I knew about the rich prodigy that was supposed to be joining the class that year. Never mind that she had never seem me before. I asked her why she wanted to know, she slammed her hand on the desk and said,

"It is for me to know and that girl to find out." I then said,

"That's what I'm trying to do". She smiled and said

"I like you already!" She just burst out laughing. When the teacher introduced me as the daughter of the famous actor, Liam Scarlet, she was dumb-founded to find out that I was in fact his daughter. Since then we began to become really close friends. Our families were also closely connected in the entertainment business, my dad being and actor and hers being a movie producer, so our parents were pleased with our new found friendship.

We finally reached the start of an alleyway that lead to the back entrances out both our houses. The passageway reeked from corner to corner of rotting meat. The smell was coming from the waste bins outside the café. We were only a few steps from reaching the other side of the toxic passageway when two ominous men, one with blonde hair and the other with brown, appeared from between the crack of the two side standing buildings. Their arms were covered in ink and their hands were stained with blood,

"What are two pretty ladies like you doing in a place like this?" the one with the blonde became very impatient with the other and threw himself up against me. I could feel his energy turn into my fear as it passed over to me, through his tight grip. "You're a very cute one." He said as he grabbed the collar of my white shirt, staining it with his filthy hands. "Get your hands off me!" I yelled, pulling away from his flimsy grip.

"This one has got some real guts to be pulling away from me." He grabbed the skirt of the uniform I was wearing. I could hear the sound of ripping threads, coming from my skirt; he then again pulled me in his direction.

"What's this?" He stuck his hand down my shirt and pulled out my necklace, ripping some of the skin off my neck with it.

"A cross, you don't need this." He pulled it off my neck.

"How dare you, you filthy vermin." He just laughed and said,

"No one can save you now." He tossed it to his left side, on the floor. He grabbed me and pushed my head into the wall, so I could not see his face. At that moment I could hear Amy calling out to me. But the more I struggled the harder he pushed my head into the stone of the wall.

"I don't know if you should be doing that." The voice rang throughout the alleyway. The following silence was broken by the sound of my sweat, dripping off my face, hitting the floor. The man dropped me to the floor, I managed to open a single eye, so I was abled see the face of the stranger. He was a fairly tall man, who looked to be in his late teens maybe early twenties. He stood in the same crack between the buildings the two men had come from. He was leaning up against one wall and faced the other.

"It would be better if you went home to your mother kid." The blonde man said to the stranger.

"It would be best for you to leave; before things become out of control." The stranger commanded. He got up and faced the two men,

"Hurry up and leave." The stranger said; not even with the slightest bit of worry or anxiety seemed to echo in his voice.

"Who do you think you are?" The second man demanded.

"I'm your worst nightmare; the monster under your bed and the devils right hand man. I will give you until the count of ten to leave with your pride still intact." He said slowly, letting every word sink into their thick skulls. The first thing I noticed about the man's face was his enchanting eyes. A bright blood red with a dark black outline filled in the colour space. The bright colours pierced throw the darkness of the moment.

"What the! What are you?" the blonde man's voice had a quake to it.

The stranger just laughed, "Like I said before; I'm a monster."

Only later in my disrupted life did I find out the true meaning of his words. The two men attacked him with their hidden knives. The stranger defended their first attacked them, and then advanced with his own attack. The two men left in fright of the insane strength of the stranger. In less than a second the stranger was standing in front of me,

"You should stay out of dark corners. That is where the predators wait for the innocent and weak to stroll by." He glanced over at Amy and said,

"You two should get home before the streets you use become dark too." Amy grabbed his arm and whispered;

"You just saved me. How could I ever repay your kindness?" He shoved her off in one push. "You shouldn't latch onto strangers. I could have more dangerous intensions than they did." She quickly blurted out in response,

"But you just saved us!" He seemed to ignore her as he walked over to where my necklace was lying on the floor; picked it up then returned,

"Red, over here was just to pretty to just stand back and let some messed up guys destroy that precious little face of hers." He held out my cross, and examined it closer. "You don't need this; it is useless." He said dragging it through the air to his face. I ripped it from his hands and yelled.

"It is none of your concern what religion I am." I turned to face the end of the alley and focused my gaze on the end of the passage way when he grabbed my wrist tightly and said,

"I'm only trying to help you." He spun me back into his direction and kissed me. I thought it would have been a harsh and aggressive kiss, but it was nothing like that. Realizing that the kiss had gone on for too long, I had only pushed myself away from him when he disappeared and Amy said she didn't remember any of it happening.

Six regular, or, rather bring months passed and I still had not seen the stranger. I could not forget that day. That day a complete stranger stole my first kiss from me but saved a lot more. I knew it really did happen; it was too real not to have been. I had been avoiding the alleyway behind the cafe; but that day I was running extremely late. I needed to get to a marriage meeting that had been planned by my absent mother. It was also part of our family's tradition to be in an arranged marriage by eighteen. I had no choice but to go through the alleyway to get to the extremely upper-class dinning establishment were the meeting between the two forced lovers would take place. I ran down the passageway when I stopped to glance at the crack where the stranger stood when I first encountered him. The day's memories flashed through my mind. I felt shivers down my spine. Then I began to run when I was stopped by someone grabbing my hand and pulling me to them. I had learnt a few karate moves, growing up and I decided to refresh them. I was just about to hit the stranger in the neck when he grabbed my hand. "

What are you doing?" he asked

"It's you! Sorry I didn't mean to hit you." He let go of his tight grip and said,

"So you were just going to high-five me or something? You need to work on your moves a little bit more." he said emotionlessly. I picked up my small hand carrier that I was carrying from the floor. "Where are you going in such a rush like that?" I did not know how to respond to his question. No one, in their right mind, tells a random stranger were they are going. "How about your name." I asked as my reply, trying to avoid answering my question.

"I asked you a question Red, but if you must know... its Cartar." He said uninterestedly. "And mine is -" "Ayana Scarlet; grade 11; you are in fifth year high school, but you are only fifteen turning sixteen, in three days, you also skipped eighth and ninth grade." All he said was one hundred percent correct.

"How did you know all that?" I asked him. He just smiled a sadistic smile.

"You'll find out when the time is right." He whispered into my ear, I felt the hairs stand up on my face. I gave him an indication that I was leaving then I turned around to leave but I was completely interrupted when he kissed me tenderly once again and just like before he disappeared.

That night I felt excruciating pain rushing through my whole face, crawling down into my neck and spine and then lastly my legs. I couldn't walk or call out for help because the pain would be unbearable if I tried. I just have to lie in my bed and endure the pain. About five hours later the pain subsided, I could breathe more easily again and I could stand. When I into the bathroom to wash up the sweat dripping from my body. My legs were still shaking underneath me. I gazed into the mirror hanging right above my sink when I lost my lower strength and head for the floor when I felt someone underneath me.

"Isn't it a bit late for you to still be up?" Cartar was the person who had saved me from a concussion from hitting my head on the tiled walls.

"Thank you; what-" I started to shake, and I could hear chattering. He interrupted me to say

"interesting. Purple that's very rare and I'm not totally convinced you have your true colour."

I was very confused with what he was saying.

"My colour?"

"Your eyes are red." He said pointing out the source of his comment. I shot up to look into the mirror.

"Don't get up so quickly you might fall back down again." He said. I wasn't paying must attention to what he was saying. My eyes had changed from a deep yellow brown, to a bright purple.

"What is going on?" He rose from the ground and stood behind me and said, "You and I are not human. There are others just like us." I could not believe what he was saying.

"I'm here to bring you with me back to our land." I still could not understand his simple English.

"And how do I know you are telling the truth." His eyes reformed themselves so that they pieced into the depths of your soul. His skin began to shed and his scales had become clear. I was frightened and ran into the other room closing the door behind me.

The next morning I over slept and way late for school and in all the commutation I forgot all about my eyes and ran to school. That morning I was greeted by my loving and harshly honest friend Amy,

"I don't think the green contact lenses suite you." A light bulb went off at that moment then so did another. I ran to the bathroom to see my new eye colour.

"Green, what next..." I was interrupted by a voice behind me

"We need to leave now." I soon found out was none other than Cartar.

"What are you doing here?" He glared at me with a straight face.

"Like I said yesterday; I have to take you back with me... Wait hold still." He grabbed my face and looked at my eyes.

"This is new, pigtails we have to leave right now." I wiggled my face from his hands and ask,

"Where are we going?" he grabs my arm and bits it with his fangs.

"Somewhere safe okay." Just then I blacked out.

I woke to the sounds of people arguing. I sat up in the bed to see where I had been taken to. I saw Cartar taking to an old man with grey hair and shining gold eyes. A young man in a white lab coat came to my aid after seeing my attempt to sit up in my bed. "I'm glad to see you awake. My name is Delson." He had beautiful bright green eyes, not like you would usually get, and when I attempted to answer nothing came out if my mouth.

"Don't worry your voice will be back in a few minutes. Cartar and I will tend to you until you have completely healed again. You should also try not to walk too much. If you need anything feel free to ask me or Cartar." And with that the young man left. He reminded me a lot of Cartar. Their faces and body shapes are almost identical.

"Oh and by the way, I'm Cartar's younger brother; just thought you might want to know." And just like that he was off. I felt like I had been hit over the head with a shovel. I could barely sit up when two women in white dresses approached me. "So you are Cartar's newest Resenter." The woman with stick straight blond hair commented. The other woman had wavy dusty brown hair; she also was wearing oval shaped glasses.

"My name is Katara." Said the brunet. "And mine is Trixie." Murmured the blonde. "What is yours?" asked Katara.

"Ayana." She knelt down to my eye level. "So beautiful. Would you like some help sitting up?" I was just about to accept her offer when Cartar showed up behind me.

"She can do it herself." He gave Katara a death stare. Almost telling her to back off. She stood back up and smiled at my direction.

"It was nice to meet you." She then nodded her head and her and Trixie walked off. "She seems nice." He sat down on the 80's styled chair beside me.

"Looks can be deceiving." He said not even looking at me. "So you are telling me she is not." He combed his black hair with his hand.

"I never said that; but it's something to keep in mind. The people around here are not the same as the people back in the human world." He got up and shoved his face into mine.

"You're not allowed to walk yet so if you need the bathroom I'll take you; okay." He began laughing.

"Your face is red. What don't you want help?" I opened my mouth to reply but I could not think of anything to say. He just smiled.

"Could you please not traumatize the fragile girl." Not too much surprise it was his younger brother Delson.

"I will have to have you removed, again." Cartar stood and towered over him.

"Why do you have to be so formal Delson? I was just having some fun." Cartar grabbed Delson's clipboard.

"Let's see what is wrong with pigtails." Delson snatched it back.

"You are not supposed to be messing with my stuff. And her name is Lady Ayana" Delson fixed his coat.

"There is nothing wrong with Miss Ayana." He said looking at his clipboard.

"Then why are her eyes continuing to change even though her transformation is done." Delson took a moment to catch his breath.

"Well that's simple; she is a Resenter. I thought if anyone figured it out it would have been you, big brother" Cartar's smile sank back into his face. I dragged my body up the bed to be on a higher level so I could join the convocation.

"What is a Resenter?" I asked after I have overcome the pain in my torso.

"They are snakes that are refusing their transformation. But I was more than sure by now you would have given up and changed." Cartar grabbed my face.

"I told you before." He stuck his hand down my pure white dress.

"You pervert!" I yelled at him.

"Get rid of this." He said pulling out my necklace.

"This is probably the reason why she has lasted so long." Delson seemed to be studying the object.

"You can't wear that thing anymore." Delson commanded. He then directed he gaze at Cartar.

"See that it is returned back to the human world." And after that they both left without another word. I had fallen asleep not long after I was left to rot there by both Delson and Cartar. I was then soon woken up by Katara.

"It's so nice to see you again." She whispered.

"Is Cartar still here?" I rapidly shook my head.

"Good; this is for you." She held a sliver tray full of the most delicious looking food I had ever seen.

"Cartar is overprotective sometimes. So you don't have to worry and think it's just you." I felt the weight of a brick land on my shoulder.

"What mustn't she think about me?" Cartar muttered. She just smiled and said,

"It's just girl talk; no need to worry. I wasn't saying anything bad about you." His face was motionless.

"You know more than well I won't let her eat crap hospital food." Her smile drifted into the deep dark corners of her soul.

"But I want to!" I felt his grip tighten; then he let go.

"As long as you are fine with it I can't stop you." And with those final words he left. "I'm sorry to have dragged you into that." Her face looked so apologetic. "No there was no reason for him to act like that. Please accept my apologies." She bent down and grabbed my hand. "You really are to kind." She then gracefully rose from her stance and left. The next morning I was woken up by Cartar. "You need to get ready to leave." So I slowly climbed out of bed and fell onto the floor. "I still can't walk."

"You are becoming a real irritation; you know that." With those words he picked me up and smiled at me. "I guess its bath time." I could only wiggle like a helpless earth worm being put onto a hook. "Could you please hold still?" He then carried me to the bathroom. Just as we approached the door to hell I said, "You can't be serious." He just grinned as said, "But I am-" He swung open the door. Inside the bathroom stood Katara. "She will be helping you. You didn't have anything to worry about." He placed me on a chair that was next to the bath. "I'll see you later." And without looking at me he closed the door. The water was cleansing in two ways. Both my body and my soul felt renewed.

"You are more developed than I thought." Katara pointed out. I felt my face burn in every corner. "You know what, you're just as perverted as Cartar." She laughed. "You should really wear more fitted clothes." When I was being changed into my outfit I noticed how long my hair had grown since two days ago. "Dose your hair grow quicker here than in the human world." I asked. "No it only grows double in length on your birthday. Is it yours; now that I look at it, it had grown quite a lot." It made more sense after she had said that. "Yes it is. It is my sixteenth birthday today." She smiled the most beautiful smile.

"That explains your larger breasts too. On your sixteenth you have become legible to get married." She said. "Married! I don't know about that. I was going to be wed at eighteen." She tilted her head to one side look at me. "Well in this world you are one of the many people who are ready to get married." After I had been dressed into the most beautiful summer dress by Katara I was helped up by her. "You have also grown in height." I felt so different to how I was two days ago. "I noticed." I said as I took my first steps in my completely new body. I felt like a new person. "You have a real shot with Cartar now." I pushed of her. "What do you mean?"

"You like him don't you?" I felt the heat make a return to my face. "I don't know what you are talking about. I barley even know him. " I said avoiding looking into her crazy eyes. "But then why are you blushing? Fine I'll let this one go; for now anyways. By the way you seem to be able to stand on your own." I looked down and she was right. I was standing on my own again. She walked out first. Because she said something about wanting to introduce the new me or something. "Now ladies and gentlemen..." I only head those words before I realised she had included the whole hospital, "Today is the sixteenth birthday of a wonderful and beautiful woman named Ayana." My heart wouldn't stop racing and I had no idea why. I only took three steps before I was smothered with applauds of both staff and patients. Delson and Cartar looked the most amazed. "Don't you think she looks amazing in the dress Cartar? Who knew you had such taste." I looked up at him. "You bought this for me?" I couldn't believe it.

"It's a birthday gift. Don't mention it." He said without a smile. The next thing I was surrounded by the nurses and they all could not stop playing with my long fire red hair. They all told my how they envied it. After about three hours of harassment from the nurses they left me. Delson and Cartar where they next people I saw and I ran to them. "Happy birthday Lady Ayana." Delson said. "Thank you." I said. "Enough with the birthday wishes we have to get going." Cartar interrupted.

"Where are we going?" I asked. "To your estate." Delson said. "My what!" I said in utter confusion. "Your estate. You are part of the royal family. You can see the grey in your eye." I ran over to the full length mirror hanging on the wall. I was surprised to see that my eyes were purple, green and grey. "Why are my eyes more than one colour?" Delson walked over to me and said. "Because you are a Resenter." I glanced over to Cartar. "So I am royal because I am a Resenter?" He just stood there and brushed back a piece of his hair. "No you are the first cousin of the prince." Delson said. "Because of this you will have to attend the prince's coronation party this evening." Said Delson. "I would not have let you go but Delson..." murmured Cartar. "It is required by ever royalty to attend in respect of his majesty." Cartar silence rang throughout the hospital.

We dove for quite some time before I could really see anything beside a dust road – that but the way was direful to drive on. The only thing I saw before I could see the estate was an old looking sign saying; 'town this way.' We arrived at this marvellous castle like building. "We are here." Said Cartar. "Isn't it magnificent?" I said tugging on his arm. "Just splendid!" I almost face planted the window to get a better look at my new home. "I wouldn't have minded moving you know. But if you really wanted me, you should have just said so." Cartar said with a smirk in his voice. I was complete confused about what he was saying until I looked back. I had climbed on top of him without realising it. "I'm so sorry I never realised that I was on your lap." I slowly climbed off his lap and sat back in my seat. The rest of the ride was mad in absolute silences. We arrived at the main gate when Delson mumbled. "Now that we are here we have a few things that need to be discussed before tonight." I focused my full attention on what he had to say. "And that is?" Cartar asked. Delson looked irritated with him.

"You know what I'm Talking about! I need your help explaining." Cartar brushed back his perfect black hair.

"She is not going to be happy about this." I planted my hand firmly on his leg.

"What is it?" He grabbed my hand.

"You are not allowed to have anything to do with your family or religion while you are staying in this world." I pulled my hand free from his grip.

"Why not?" Delson quickly intervened. "Well because your 'relatives' here don't exactly agree with your higher power." I turned and faced the window.

"Anything else?" I asked.

"Well your eyes are a dead giveaway that you are a Resenter." Cartar explained.

"And what is wrong with that?" I asked, not in the most cheerful of tones. "We don't have time for this right now but let's just say your cousin is not a fan." I sighed and nodded at whatever they went on about after that. When we entered the spectacular building I was greeted by twenty of the two hundred manned staff that I was appointed. But the two people I was the most happiest to see there was Katara and Trixie. "What are you two doing here?" I asked as I ran into Katara's arms to give her a friendly hug. "We were employed as your ladies in waiting." I felt tension gathering behind me. "I thought that only queens got ladies in waiting." Katara laughed for a moment then stopped. "You being serious. Cartar and Delson didn't tell you." I turned around to face a most fake innocent smile from Cartar and a trembling Delson.

"No they didn't." I said hiding my anger. "So why don't you." She smiled as if not to notice the tension between the rest of us and went on to explain the situation.

"All first cousins are entrusted with a section of the kingdom to run for the king. So you are basically the queen of this part of the kingdom." I lose my footing and stumble but just before I hit the ground I find it.

"Are you okay?" Cartar asked anxiously.

"I'm find no need to worry yourself over me twenty four seven." He helped me up to my feet again.

"Anything else you would like to explain to me." Cartar grabbed my arm.

"I think that's enough for today." I ripped my arm free from his protective grasp.

"I will say when enough is enough." I said while glaring at him straight on. "You heard her Lady; anything else." Delson gave Cartar a sad look then looked at me. "Well since you will be attending the party you will need contact lenses to hid your eyes." I looked over at Cartar's direction and he turned his gaze away from me.

"Why? What is so wrong with me being a Resenter?" Trixie finally spoke up.

"Well if you have more than one eye colour that means you have more than one power." I was confused by this.

"You have more physical power than the king himself. People like you could overthrow the king. So people like you have their heads chopped off." I felt unsteady again but refused to fall.

"So is that it?" I asked fearing for more unbearable news.

"No not any I can think of." Said Delson. "Same here." Echoed Katara.

"Well now that, that is over we should start to get her ready for the party." Said Trixie.

"Good idea!" Shouted Katara.

She grabbed my hand and pulled my up the endless staircase to my bedroom. There on the bed lay a very elegant black gown. I was sat down in a chair so I could wait for a bath to be drawn. After about an hour of arguing and shouting I was finally placed back on the chair to have my hair braided into a side French plat by Trixie. Other accessories were added to my hair after it had been completed. I finally was ready; I could barely even recognise the person in the mirror. I was escorted down the stairs to where Delson and Cartar were waiting. Their mouths hung open when I was in their sight. I felt extremely embarrassed.

"You look wonderful my lady." Delson mumbled.

"Here." Cartar said handing me a black box. "Inside the box was a beautiful sliver chain with a white diamond attached to it.

"Is this for me?" Cartar nodded. He was giving me this amazing gift even after I yelled at him for caring about me.

"Would you mind putting it on for me?" I asked. He gave a slight smile and I turned around and lifted my hair for him. He bit my neck leaving fang marks.

"What the hell." I yelled.

"Now everyone there will know your mine and only mine." Cartar said. What did he mean by 'Mine and only mine?'

"Cartar!" Trixie said.

"Look; now you left a mark on her neck." Cartar just ignored her. "I'll get the makeup." Katara yelled for halfway up the stairs. The two girls did their best to cover the purple mark on my neck but you could still see it as clear as day.

"I hope you are happy Cartar." Trixie said to him for the hundredth time. Katara was the angriest with him. I actually didn't mind having people think we were a couple. Delson was constantly checking his watch and I could see we were running later.

"Leave it and let's just go." I eventually said. Delson and Katara travelled in the same car as me while Trixie and Cartar took the other one. The original plan was to have Cartar and me in the same car but after his little outburst the plans changed. When we arrived at the castle we were greeted by many staff and were guided to where the party was being held.

"Okay the plan is simple one of us will be at her side at all times." Delson reminded everyone.

They were all worried I was going to make a fool of myself in front of someone important. My first 'bodyguard' was Delson. Most of the time we chatted to each other than to anyone else. Next was Katara. She spent the whole time explaining who was who and how I was related to them. Then came Cartar we walked and talked as if we were a couple. Some people even asked if we were married. Of course they were shocked to find out we weren't even dating. And up last was Trixie she forced me to mingle with the other lords and ladies. I felt flushed after about an hour and slipped away when she wasn't looking. I found a balcony that had a view over the whole kingdom. Dim lights shone from the towns. There was a meadow with a river running throw it– or so it looked like- not too far from the town by my estate. I was finally alone; or so I thought.

"And you must be Lady Ayana." A voice said from behind. I spun around to see the old man with a short white beard and shimmering gold eyes. He was the same man talking to Cartar at the hospital. I noticed his eyes were gold and Katara told me only the king his wife and their children had those colour eyes.

"Yes your majesty." I said in a panic.

"You are my niece. There is no need for such a formal greeting." I could feel my whole body shacking.

"My, you are very beautiful. My son will surly marry you." I felt my legs giving in so I grabbed onto the railing.

"I'm not sure what you are talking about?" I replied.

"You are one of the eligible bachelorettes for my son. That is why you are here tonight." I felt my legs weaken even more.

"I'm not sure who left their mark on you but you better get rid of him. Do you understand; or I will." I nod my head frantically in agreement.

"A good evening to you Lady Ayana." And with those words he left. Not being able to hold myself any longer I feel to the cold hard ground. Not a moment later Cartar appeared out of nowhere and picked me up.

"Are you alright?" I could not tell him about what had happened. I agreed to get rid of him without even putting up a fight. I then felt him embrace me. His arms were so warm and friendly. I could feel his warm breath on my neck.

"Would you like to go home?" He whispered into my ear.

"I think that would be a good idea." I replied. He pulled me to my feet and we walked together to the car. His coat placed over my shoulders and his arm securing it into place.

"Do you think we should tell rest we are leaving?" I asked as he open the car door.

"Delson is a smart boy. I'm sure he will figure it out." He closed the door and walked around the back of the car and climbed in the other end.

"I just saw Trixie." He said. "But I'm not sure if she saw me." We quickly fled the crime scene before Trixie could get her hands on Cartar. When we arrived back home Cartar insisted on carrying me to my bed. He said he was worried about me ascending so many stairs in my condition.

When we reached the top of the staircase I asked him to put me down but he refused and continued to carry me to my bedroom. He gentle placed me on my bed and pulled out a pair of my night clothes.

"Here change into these. You don't want to mess up your dress." I took the clothes from his hands.

"Well turn around." I said in the sternest manner I could. He did so and I began unchanging. When I was about halfway pulling off my dress Delson and Trixie burst into my room. Delson's entire face turned the same colour as white and he shot around the corner.

"I'm so sorry Lady Ayana." I only laughed. Trixie ran to my side and throw a sheet over me.

"Already pulling the moves on her, and she has been here one day." I felt my face turn red. I peeped my head out of the cover.

"I think you are misunderstanding the situation." I said promptly.

"No she is one hundred percent correct." Said Cartar still with his back facing me.

"Don't tease her like that." Katara said. Pushing Cartar out the door. I knew then and there that Trixie would never leave the two of us alone ever again. I had a disruptive night's sleep that night thinking about what the king had said. 'You better get rid of him. Do you understand; or I will.' I didn't know who to tell about this confrontation to. Delson and Katara would have a hernia and tell Cartar. And Trixie would probably say something like;

"Good riddance." I guess this one is mine and mine alone to deal with. But I just don't know how.
