I was right about her heading to this guy Alec's house. I waited outside until Alec and Sophia left, I crept around the back of the house. I had to admit, it was a beautiful home. I planned to break in through the back and get her out.

But when I saw her walk on the back deck wearing a white dress that flowed with the sea breeze it stopped me in my tracks. She looked beautiful; I knew I had work to do but I couldn't help it. I would grab her in just a few moments.

When she reached the black ocean, I could see her bright silhouette against the obsidian waters. I stood out of sight and just watched her while she admired the ocean. She was sitting where the ocean meets the sand, her feet were getting splashed as the tide rose. I knew I would grab her at any moment and drag her back to Mr Stone.

After a few minutes she walked into the water, I thought it was funny. Why would she wear a dress in the water and then she just kept walking further in. For a moment I got nervous, what if the weight of her long dress pulled her under. But why was I scared? I wouldn't get my money... yeah, that must be it.

But what I saw next made an unfamiliar feeling rise in the pit of my stomach... Was it fear? Pity? I don't know. Her bright silhouette disappeared beneath the calm waves and she was gone, it wasn't the weight of her own dress, she just walked and walked until she went under. All I knew was that I needed to get her out, I needed to save my money.

So, I ran into the ocean and grabbed her. It wasn't the way I thought I would be grabbing her. No, not at all. I was gentle as I carried her lifeless body in my arms and towards the shore.

She wasn't breathing and my breath got stuck in my throat.

I laid my hand underneath her head to gently lay her down on the sand that was still warm from the sun. I thought of trying CPR but that wasn't in my job description, but my money was on the line. After a couple of air giving, she finally started coughing violently. I sat her up so she won't choke on her saliva or the water she might have swallowed. I looked into her eyes, they looked broken, defeated, like I just stopped her from achieving her goal.

My eyes drank in the sight of the sad and broken girl laying on the sand in front of me and it made me wonder...

What did Hunter do to her to make her want to take her own life?

....
