With the help of the late Sorcerer Supreme as his mentor, he became the next powerful alongside him, as he also devised some of his own spells.

1. Magic- As the co-master of the New York Sanctum and the next candidate for the position of Sorcerer Supreme, Matthew Strange possesses an extremely high level of mastery over magic, which he used to defend his native reality.

Types of Magic

A. Eldritch Magic -Matthew is able to shape and manipulate Eldritch Magic, forming tangible constructs of energy, such as weapons or shields, as well as cast spells by writing specific formations with the fiery energy. He can also use Eldritch Magic to morph the Staff of the Living Tribunal into several weapons that he wish to use.

B. Portal Creation – Using a Sling Ring, Matthew Strange is able to open portals that lead to different locations, gaining the ability to both move across the material world and to other parts of Remnant, IF he knew the location.

C. Energy Projection – He can project energy blasts, streams, and bolts of fiery energy. He notably generated powerful torrents of energy that ricocheted off numerous floating boulders, melting the surfaces they touched as they went, to attack Thanos.

D. Mirror Dimension Manipulation – After his training at Kamar-Taj, He is able to manipulate Mirror Dimension Magic, he was also capable of conjuring a construct of the in the form of crystalline fractals that acted as a shield, can warp space within the Mirror Dimension, and trap someone inside.

E. Astral Projection – Strange is capable of separating his astral form from his body, gaining access to the Astral Dimension.

F. Conjuration – He can conjure different things that can mimic kinds of items. He can easily create weapons that he had the basic picture of it and use it for himself.

G. Transmutation – He can change liquids with his own will, transform his sorcerer clothes into another and more.

H. Teleportation – Although this is different from using a Sling Ring, this is only used for a short distance and to switch people's locations within his grasp of a few meters.

I. Telekinesis – He can manipulate items and people psionically. Brainwashing is not in his list to do.

J. Elemental Manipulation – Matthew Strange can generate, control and shift 5 different elements into weapons, shields or to create some elementals.

K. Levitation – With the help of the Cloak of Levitation, he is able to levitate and hover. The Cloak can greatly lessen the impact of falling from great heights by effortlessly reducing his speed.
