(7) Fire

Sapphires POV:

'Hey Sapphire, me and your other shifters are going to go train for a couple of months, so since your dragon is new she will be left with you. This is goodbye for now' awww dang it! 'Fine my wolf I guess that would let me and my dragon, Phoenix, some time to get to know each other' i said back while falling asleep.

Waking up in the morning I felt empty, I guess my shifters have left me. I get up and start packing. Today we are going to make the last trip to my mom's mansion. "Hun let's go!" my annoying mother yelled.

Getting into the car I waited for my sister and mother to come outside. Once we were all in we headed off, me getting more and more nervous as we got closer to our destination.

3 hours later~~

We were walking up the steps to my mother's house when I heard a light crying coming from the woods, knowing no one else heard it I told my mom I would be back in 30 minutes.

Shifting into my dragon form I flew to the field I thought I heard the crying come from. 'I think it's coming from those bushes' my lovely dragon informed me.

Walking over to the bushes I saw a little bundle laid there in a pink blanket. Grabbing it our eyes met and something clicked, with one word whispered from my dragon 'protect'.

I am so confused. I held the baby walking home. Once I got to my room, unnoticed, I laid the baby on my bed unraveling it from its blanket. A note slowly fell to the floor. This is what was written :

Dear whoever,

This is my child. Her name is Storm Rain. I hope someone can help her with her weather-controlling powers. Whoever finds this, please love her and take care of her.

Wow, this baby is awesome. I used my powers to conjure up a crib and everything else I needed for her. I walked downstairs with her in my arms.

I smelt a wonderful scent, that smelled like chocolate, getting closer. Chase. I walked into a random room feeling him follow me.

"What do you want?" I asked. "Oh, I was just passing through and smelt your scent so I-" he paused as I turned around. He seen Storm in my arms.

"You had a mutt with a rouge!" Chase yelled. 'How dare he' my dragon snarled. My hair was on fire now. I sat Storm down and my hands caught on fire. "DO YOU SERIOUSLY THINK IM THAT STUPID, I FOUND THIS BABY IN THE WOODS ALONE! FOR CHRIST SAKE SHUT UP FOR A BIT AND LET ME EXPLAIN BEFORE YOU COME TO CONCLUSIONS!" I yelled at him, teleporting the baby to its crib with my powers.

I walked outside needing fresh air, when he pushed me into a wall saying "I am stronger than you, as I am a dragon, so you better respect me!" oh heck no. I shifted into my dragon, surprising him.

I got really mad, and my whole body was on fire now. He shifted into his dragon also, which by the way, was much smaller than mine. I growled with so much power he instantly bowed. I shifted back to human form and so did he.

He stood up straight and said " I Chase Sarr reject you Sapphire as my mate" i looked at him and said " Wow, and i thought after all my other mates rejected me i would have at least one to accept me" with tears in my eyes i walked away.

I walked in the kitchen and saw Terrisa, she is adorable! She's a dragon shifter that is in Chase's 'pack'. "Hi Ter how have you been doing lately" i asked her in a sad voice.

"Good Saphi, you dont look to happy" she looked up at me concerned. "Oh its just the usual, got rejected again" she looked really sad when she said the next thing "Im so sorry, i heard that most of your mates even marked another female right in front of you" i know what it sounds like, its no big deal right?

Well in the werewolf community it shows that the female that is that males mate is not good enough for them, it is also very painful. I heard someone growl. I knew instantly who it was. I rolled my eyes, "Oh shut it bird brain" i said as Chase walked in with eyes blackened. "Well i will leave you two alone" Ter said backing out slowly while i gave her the look that said 'this aint over'. With that Chase made his way over to me.
