The Wild Boar Encounter

A few months passed since the killing of the giant monitors. Taking a number of quests and saving money Gojo had enough to move to a better place. Gojo and Grisella planned to move to a nearby inn with better rooms very soon.

Back at Seldis not much had happened in all these years. Besoff who was the quietest among the kids had left recently for Bardin to register as an adventurer there. The bully Victor had also decided to join the army, he would leave the orphanage a month later when he beame sixteen years old.

Letters usually took around two weeks to reach Seldis from Geradin. So there was not much news from either side.

One day Gojo and Grisella went to the adventurers guild to take up new quests. As expected they went to take the quest from the board. As they were searching for decent quest to take on, they heard a lot of commotion outside.

Suddenly the doors of the guild slammed open. A gentleman in disheveled and torn clothes rushed inside and ran towards the reception. The clothes were pretty decorated, meaning that he must be from some house of nobility or a merchant.

" Help me please, please help me. We have been attacked. " shouted the man at the top of his voice.

" Sir, please calm down and explain the situation to us. " said the receptionist.

" I don't have much time to explain. We need to send help immediately. " said the man and he looked around.

Seeing no one interested the gentleman was crestfallen and was going to leave. This is when he heard, " Can we go with you ?"

Gojo stepped forward closely followed by Grisella. He walked up to the gentleman and said " Let us go with you, we will help with what we can. "

The man's face lit up, he said " Alright then, follow me. " He walked out of the guild building.

Outside the building, on one side of the road were standing two horses. Beside them stood a young man in his early twenties. It was this man that the previous gentleman walked up to.

" Let's go now, I managed to get some help at the guild. " said the gentleman.

" Will they really help ? I mean it's just two adventurers who are young. " said the young man.

" For the time being two is enough. We can't afford to waste much of our time here. " said the gentleman. He then turned towards Gojo and Grisella and said " Quickly get on these horses. We will be going to Parsin village, located to the east of Geradin. The rest of the information I will tell you while riding. "

They quickly got on the horses and the horses started galloping down the road towards the eastern exit of the city.

" Well, then now listen what happened. My name is Damien Law, I am a travelling merchant. I was on my way to Parsin village on my carts after my long stay at Dostark town. As we were nearing the village we started hearing loud grunts from the nearby forests. Suddenly an entire herd of wild boars descended on us. One of my drivers and a helper were immediately killed. " he stopped to breathe in.

He the continued " Although one of my drivers and a helper were killed, most of us managed to escape only because of the two adventurers whom I hired from Dostark. They fought and distracted a number of wild boars as we escaped. I don't know if they are alive, but please do rescue them. "

It took around two hours to reach Parsin village. There they met the other people who survived the attack and then headed towards the forest.

They soon reached the spot where the attack took place. There they saw two overturned horse carts lying on the ground alongside them were two corpses belonging to the driver and the helper.

Searching the surroundings, Gojo spotted some movement behind a tree. He went behind the tree. There he saw a female beastman adventurer holding a handkerchief against an open wound on her right hand beside a male beastman trying to comfort her.

" We need to retreat now the wild boars have stopped their attacks for now. " the male beastman said. He stood up and helped the female beastman stand up. They were about to leave when they heard loud grunts coming from the bushes opposite to them. The boars were back.

This time Gojo and Grisella walked out and stood at the spot where the cart was attacked. They didn't have to wait long. Out of the bushes on their opposite side came out a dozen wild boars grunting aggressively at them.

All the wild boars charged towards them at once. In order to dodge them Gojo jumped to his right and Grisella jumped to her left landing pretty far away from each other. As soon as that happened half of the boars turned towards Gojo and attacked him, the other half attacked Grisella.

Gojo used reverse red at first but the boars ran fast and managed to dodge it. Seeing this he waited for them to get close to him. As soon as they got near him he used reverse red on a nearby boar to crush it. He then turned his attention to the next boar.

He punched on it's face and then punched again, this hitting it against a tree temporarily knocking it out. He the used lapse blue to break the neck of a boar. After that he used reverse red and his punches in quick succession as he slaughtered all six of them.

On the other side Grisella also put up a tough fight. She first struck at an eye of one of the boars and as it halted it's movements struck at it's neck killing it. She used a combination of her swift sword slashes and thrusts from her daggers to take the rest of them out.

After killing all the boars, Gojo and Grisella escorted the two beastmen back to Parsin village.

The two beastmen were named Bezel and Almond, they were adventurers. They were wolf beastmen and were siblings. They were from a remote village located in the Duchy of Alkorn. They thanked the both of them for their help. The merchant, Damien Law, wanted them to escort him to the spot of the attack to check if any of the goods in the carts were safe or not, which they decided to check the day after.

The next morning Gojo, Grisella and Damien Law set out to check the spot of the attack to check on the goods. They soon reached their and started checking the surroundings and amongst the broken carts. The cold corpses of the boars still lay there scattered.

Suddenly they heard loud grunts coming from the same bushes from where the boars had emerged the day before. The three of them got up and Gojo and Grisella walked forward. Out of the bushes came out a huge wild boar.

Something was peculiar about this boar. It had two pairs of tusks instead of one. From the looks of it, this one was the leader of the boars.

The four tusked boar charged towards Gojo at full speed. Gojo also ran at it clenching his fists. He tried to punch the boar on it's face but missed. The boar turned towards Gojo very soon and attacked him but thanks to infinity it didn't hurt him.

Gojo gathered all his energy at his right fist and waited for the boar to approach. As soon as it came very close he punched on it's face with his right hand. This created a black flash and the boar flew into a tree gravely wounding it. Then Gojo walked up to it and using lapse blue broke it's neck.

That day got their reward from Damien Law who was happy to get back some of the goods undamaged. Then they returned bavk to Geradin next.
