The Beginning Of The Journey

Both Gojo and Grisella kept quiet about their encounter with the goblins that night. The sisters were puzzled when the group of adventurers informed them about the goblin corpses.

Four years passed since the incident. Now Gojo was twelve years old. He had leveled up greatly in those four years. His current stats were :

Lapse Blue technique: level 6

Infinity: level 6

Six Eyes: level 3

Reverse Curse technique: level 3

Reverse Red: level 3

Appraisal Eyes: level 4

Master in hand to hand combat

Black flash learned

He had leveled up gradually. After the goblin raid there was no other attack of such a large scale. He and Grisella went to the forests and killed a large number of goblins as well as a few wild boars.

Grisella's level had also steadily increased greatly. Apart from basic sword skills she could now use some special techniques as well.

One day Sister Isabel summoned Gojo and Grisella to her room.

" Both of you come to my room after lunch. I have something important to discuss with you two. " she said.

As discussed both Gojo and Grisella went to Isabel's room after lunch. There they saw her sitting on a chair faced towards the door.

" Both of you have grown pretty strong, am I correct ?" she asked.

Both of them were puzzled at this statement. How did Sister Isabel come to know about their leveling.

" I have seen Grisella training and improving from time to time. As for Gojo, just from a look I can tell that you are unordinary. " said Isabel.

" Um, then why were we summoned here. " asked Grisella.

Sister Isabel with a faint smile on her face continued: " Now moving on to the reason I summoned you. I think you have heard of Eric Flavel, the spice trader. He came to this village two days ago along with three adventurers escorting him. The thing is that two of the adventurers need to stay in this village for a few more days for a job. "

" So your job would be to escort him to the nearby town of Bardin. From there onwards whether you want to come back to Seldis or continue adventuring. Will you accept the job ? Tell me your decision by tomorrow morning. "

Eric Flavel was a successful merchant who lived in Geradin, the provincial capital of the duchy of Alkorn. He had come to Seldis on his journey two days ago. After staying for four he will resume his journey back towards Geradin.

" Hey Gojo, are you going to join Eric Flavel and his horse carriages on his journey to Geradin ?" asked Grisella.

" I haven't decided, but I might join him on his journey. " said Gojo.

" But, then what about Seldis. Once we leave this village it will be hard to get back, since the roads are not safe. " replied Grisella.

To this Gojo replied " Look, I also don't want to leave this village. But I want to experience what's beyond the village. Through experience I will grow. So I want to leave Seldis. Moreover if you don't want to join you can just get off at Bardin as Sister Isabel suggested. "

Grisella thought for sometime and nodded her head. " Alright, I guess I'd like to venture out of Seldis. " she said.

Both of them told Sister Isabel about their the next day.

The day of their departure came. The both of them along with a few of their clothes that they packed and a small amount of food walked out of the gates of the orphanage. There they saw a well decorated carriage and a horse cart waiting for them.

Both of the sisters came out to deliver their blessings. Sister Felicia broke down to tears as she blessed them and handed two silver coins to each of them.

After receiving the blessings and bading the sisters and their friends farewell Gojo and Grisella boarded the horse cart.

Gojo was very excited. Afterall, he was going to venture out of Seldis. What kind of adventure awaits him ? he thought to himself. The cart sped out as they left the village.
