The Unspeakable Truth

The ferocious glare of that huge monster beast gave me goosebumps. His blazing, fiery appearance emitted an overwhelming pressure that fazed me. I was unable to tilt my body.

"The Adventurers are here!"

Before I realized it, silhouettes of several individuals appeared above me in an instant, similar to those of the Assassins I've watched in movies back on earth.

Three of them were dressed in auburn protective hooded cloaks and equipped with different types of weaponry.

"Enhance physical strength!" As one of them instantly threw a spear directly towards the salamander.

One of them crouched on the ground while placing both of his hands on the cold floor. "Earth Bind!" While the ground surrounding the salamander shook and entangled its legs, preventing the salamander's movements.

The salamander was unable to move, while the spear flew towards it with extreme speed.

The salamander tried resisting the spell that bound its movements. Upon noticing the approaching spear, it immediately raised its arms to block its arrival.

While a fast-approaching individual, covered in an Auburn protective hooded cloak, quickly pulled out his sword and uttered, "Lightning Steps!" While both he and the spear were equal in terms of speed, they were fast approaching the bound salamander.

I was struck in awe, realizing that I, who was so proud of myself and wanted that fantasizing adventure, couldn't even see what reality looked like.

This is the reality of living in a fantasy world.

Piles of corpses were scattered all over the place. Burnt houses amidst the freezing weather while here I am, Paralyzed due to fear, this cold sensation over my body shivers through my spine.

And yet....."

*Boom!* 

A large explosion occurred near where the monster beast was positioned. The salamander's cut-off arm was flying while showering blood across the ground.

And amidst all the action occurring, Father was in front of the wounded Salamander, performing a swordsmanship stance, while I stared at him from afar.

Then suddenly, my ears began hurting, and my body trembled after a loud growl occurred and pressured me overwhelmingly.

"Axel!"

I instantly turned around and saw my mother, with a distressful, worried expression, running towards me as she held her dress.

"Mother." Axel mumbled.

She then immediately hugged me while Axel stood frozen, "Why did you run!? Where's your father!?" She asked worriedly.

"Father's currently fighting against the salamander." As Axel pointed towards them.

The salamander was heavily injured by the adventurers' and Father's combined attacks. The salamander's movements were quickly reduced thanks to the Earth Manipulating Adventurer. While the remaining two adventurers continuously attacked the salamander along with my father.

"Luke! Arthur! Geld!" As Damian yelled happily.

"Haha, why do you look so happy?"

"Come on! Let's do this like the old times!"

"Yeah, I'll be counting on you guys!" Damian yelled and grinned.

Geld manipulated the ground as the floor turned smudged and formed into pillars, while Arthur jumped onto the earth pillars and held his sword while bursts of electricity slowly enveloped his sword. Followed by Luke, who had the enhancement skill, strengthened his own body, held Damian's feet with his opened palms, and pushed Damian with extreme force.

"Moonlight Swordsmanship! First Form!"

"Earth Bind!" Geld uttered and manipulated the terrain around the salamander's feet, once again making it unable to move.

"Lightning Strike!"

"Excalibur!"

*Boom!* *Shingggg!*

Their combined attacks shook the entire area, while flashing lights occurred and brightened the place.

Mists of steam covered their position, concealing the occurrence that had just happened.

And after several seconds, the vague appearance of the salamander stood silently inside the smoke.

While Damian and Arthur slowly walked away elegantly.

*Thud!* As the salamander's body fell to the ground, lifeless, it blew away the steam that enveloped the area.

A huge hole was seen in the salamander's body, and blood started streaming all over the place.

"Haha! Your exits are still as elegant as always." Geld said and laughed.

"Seeing you both attack reminded me of the good old days." Luke said and smirked.

Damian and Arthur smirked as they both did a fist bump. "I guess you haven't gotten rusty, Arthur."

"Likewise damian."

With the salamander defeated, the four of them reunited in an unexpected situation.

While Axel, Alexandra, and the Knight stood silently as they watched their reunion from afar.

This is the unspeakable truth. I'm still the same old guy I was back in my previous world.

The same old guy who wanted to live a vigorous life but was too scared to fight back."

The same old guy, when hurdled with struggles, would immediately falter and give up.

The same old guy that would instantly tremble in front of a superior being."

I am still... that same old guy."

I thought I'd overcome it."

I thought having loved ones would change me..."

Too scared to lose them. But I can't even do anything in front of my loved ones being in danger...."

Fuck, I'm still pathetic even being given the chance to live for the second time."

I thought I had changed after honing my skill excessively."

If I want to live in this world filled with extraordinary things, I must contemplate and renew myself.

This world's dangerous threats can't even be compared to Earth's, where only money revolves.

In this world, where something like this incident could occur anytime, I must strengthen myself and completely remove the fear inside of me."

Seeing Father and the other three adventurers, I feel like I don't belong here. A scaredy cat like me would just get killed immediately." Axel pondered deeply.

"Axel, what are you thinking so intensely about?" Alexandra asked.

"Oh, nothing, mother. I was just glad that father was safe." He replied.

"Yes, your father seems to be hurt; I'll have to heal him, so let's go to them."

While the four were happily chattering, Axel and Alexandra slowly approached them.

But before Alexandra and Damian could hug each other, the ground shook intensely. As if a bullet train was about to pass.

Axel and the others were aware and immediately surveyed their surroundings. While they saw the salamander's corpse still lying on the ground.

But as Luke stared beyond, he witnessed a horde of monster beasts running towards their location.

"Damian, there are more monster beasts approaching!"

"Alexandra! Hurry up and bring Axel to a safe place!"

"But--- "No buts! Just do what I tell you to do!" Damian yelled desperately.

But Axel, who acted immature and was scared to run away anymore and wanted to confront reality, Suddenly, he ran forward and stood alongside the four individuals.

"Axel what-- "Father! I'll fight too." As Axel said in a serious tone.

Damian, seeing the sincerity in Axel's eyes, could not complain since he also saw himself in Axel's actions.

"Okay, you better not die, son." Damian said and smirked.

The three adventurers were forced to grin, but internally they felt worried.

"Axel! You come here this instant!" Alexandra yelled angrily.

"Stop dear, Just go hide in the back. Since I'm sure you won't be running away without our son."

"But-- "Look at Axel right now. I'm sure you can't argue with that seriousness in his eyes." Damian said in a serious manner.

Alexandra stared at Axel, who was totally focused. She then hid herself further back and attentively watched Axel.

While a horde of monster beasts came rushing towards their position, Axel noticed that they weren't as large as the Salamander. The horde was comprised of wolf-looking monster beasts. He then stood his ground alongside the four and was ready to change himself.

"Let's do this!" Luke yelled excitingly and bumped both of his fists together.

As the monster beasts got closer, they immediately pounced like wild cats, while Geld instantly manipulated the terrain and built pillars in a slightly aggressive position that struck the monster beasts away in an instant.

While Luke enforced himself and started punching the monster beasts with his gauntlets, every punch he threw made a hole in the monster beasts due to the extreme strengthening enhancement he had.

Damian elegantly performed his swordsmanship and continuously slashed the monster beasts, while Arthur swiftly slashed the monster beasts in a blink of an eye while emitting small bursts of electricity.

Axel, who had honed his skill, instantly released and used the sharpened string as he whipped the monster beasts in half throughout the battlefield.

"Poison String Release!" As several threads condensed in poison came out of Axel's hand, they struck several monster beasts around the area.

This is it. The time to change my pathetic self, As he mumbled in his head.

While the battle continued, Damian glanced and smiled secretly at Axel, who was totally immersed in fighting.

"Keep it going! They're almost defeated!" Damian yelled loudly as he raised his sword and continuously attacked the approaching monster beasts.
