Reality

Even after some time had passed there was no sign of the Wimpod coming back, so Jin removed some eggs from their nest and placed them aside as he took the nest for himself.

'The nest is damp, but it's warmer and softer than the cold hard floor.'

Jin was exhausted after what happened today so within seconds he dozed off as Pidgey nuzzled between his arms.

After some time Jin woke up due to the coldness of the cave, they were below ground and in a damp cave.

Jin's eyes felt strained as he wasn't sure how long he had slept.

However, now that he was awake he needed to check if Ursaring had left the vicinity of the entrance to the cave.

Jin didn't bother to take any of the Wimpod eggs, as he didn't want to care for another at the moment.

Not to mention their cowardly nature didn't appeal to him.

Checking his map which shows the sublayer, the cave he was in and a little bit of the entrance of the cave.

Jin quickly noticed a multitude of gray icons, did the Ursarings kill everything in their rampage?

Seeing that there were a multitude of corpses but no other Pokémon nearby.

Jin decided to move forward and as they neared the entrance Jin and Pidgey smelt the blood that was still in the air.

As they neared the entrance Jin realized that it was still dark outside.

However Jin was impatient so he decided to head out anyway.

Once out with the moonlight showing the area, Jin paled in fright as he saw a bunch of Teddiursa corpses laying around but that was not what made him afraid it was the fact there were a bunch of Ursaring, Rhydon and Rhyhorn corpses around.

'Just what happened here? Could it be that the Ursaring were causing so much ruckus that nearby Rhydons and Rhyhorns took offense.

Or did I wander into Rhydons territory?'

Jin didn't know for sure what led to the situation but with the map Jin knew that no one was around.

He quickly took out the knife strapped to his boot, and went to the nearest Rhydon corpse and tried to take its horn.

Jin underestimated the toughness of Pokémon as he couldn't cut the skin or take off the horn of Rhydon.

Instead Jin decided to pry off the claws of both Rhydon and Ursaring. Luckily they were easier to pry off despite the bloody mess it left.

As Jin was moving between corpses disassembling the claws of the Pokémon.

Jin took notice that one of the corpses seemed to still be breathing.

It was a Teddiursa, as he observed its condition, he saw many bruises on its head and on its body, but it also seems to have suffered from a claw attack on its back.

Since it was injured any reasonable transmigrator would help the Pokémon recover in hopes that the Pokémon would become a loyal companion.

However Jin didn't know if this Teddiursa would recognize him and if it did it might blame him for what happened to its kin.

Activating his identification ability Jin realized that Teddiursa had a blue potential, it must be rare since this is the first time he has seen this color potential.

It would be a waste to kill Teddiursa here, Jin would want to take it and see if he could sell it.

But he was too far from town.

Even if managed to take it to town if no one was capable of seeing its value it would be pointless.

After all, Jin didn't know if this world was capable of measuring talent, even if they could, who is to say that they won't just take Teddiursa from him.

Jin is an orphan there is no way he could go against them, at least for now.

In the end he decided to gamble and take Teddiursa.

If anything, he will learn something more about this world as he made his decision the sky was starting to brighten.

It was dawn.

Remembering that Pidgey and him were chased around noon, he must have been in the cave for around a little more than twelve hours or so.

He was hungry and he was sure Pidgey was too, so they both had some berries as they made their way back home.

Once home they could eat all the berries they wanted.

Jin just hoped that Teddiursa wouldn't wake up too soon or that it would succumb to its wounds.

Pidgey hopped along the ground as Jin carried the bear making sure he held its hands firmly.

As they walked Jin made sure to look at his map which caused him to groan as he saw that he was deep within the forest as the area he was walking in was all unknown.

Initially Jin wanted to take the path he ran in, but that area must be the territory of the Ursarings, they could easily spot or whiff him within the area of search range.

Jin decided it was best to head through the unknown, forming another path and hopefully he would be avoiding any major territories on his way there.

Just an hour in walking Jin spotted a tree with vines so he made his way over there and collected some cutting them with his knife that was now badly damaged from the crude disassembly he did on those corpses.

He quickly settled down Teddiursa and grabbed a few leaves and pulled out some oran berries.

He wasn't sure what effect the Oran berries had in this world, he hoped that it would be like in his world where it would heal the Pokemon.

Although he couldn't feed Teddiursa he could smush it and apply to the wound hoping for any effect, to which he did before covering with leaves and wrapping it and Teddiursa arm serving to immobilize Teddiursa and hold the leaves in place.

Crude work, Yes indeed. Effective? Who knows, after all it was all Jin could think of at the moment.

He continued on his journey back to town, when a Pokémon appeared on the map.

Seeing that it was a singular Pokémon and its icon was small, Jin continued hoping the Pokémon would scamper off.

As he got closer he saw that it was a Caterpie.

Caterpie simply eyed him with curiosity while he too eyed it with curiosity.

Pidgey let out a cry which took him away from his staring contest with Caterpie as he noted Pidgey flying vigorously towards Caterpie.

Although Pidgey could fly, it still had the splint, so it could only fly for a while and not too fast as Jin was afraid her wing had healed yet.

Though seeing her fly, with no problem or pain he could safely assume that she was fully healed.

As Jin was proud that Pidgey was healed he was quickly dismayed at how Pidgey tore Caterpie apart, quickly eating it.

'Hopefully that Caterpie didn't have any good potential.'
