Leveling up during a raid

Alex fell to the ground as he staggered backwards while he kept telling himself he couldn't do anything to save both Lin and Kael from the demons that were on their tail. He watched as Kael struggled to set himself free from the ferocious grip of the demon that was holding him and the more he watched, the more his fear peaked to a higher level.

Obviously he didn't want any one of them to die but he doesn't know what exactly was inside of him or what exactly he should be on the lookout for to activate so as to save both Lin and Kael. Lin managed to turn sideways just to see if Alex was making any progress yet but the sight of seeing the boy quiver in fear on the ground made him sigh exasperatedly.
