Laxan Guild

He got into the sleek black limo parked by the roadside, receiving VIP treatment from the guild executives themselves. As he settled into the plush leather seats, he couldn't help but notice that the interior of the limo was like a 5-star hotel room on wheels. It was equipped with every luxury imaginable, from a mini-bar stocked with exotic drinks to a state-of-the-art entertainment system. Including him, there were seven people inside: two high-ranking executives, two A-rank warriors, a maid who served him food and drinks, and of course, the driver.

The journey to the Guild building took half an hour, during which Lloyd marveled at the opulence surrounding him. The Guild building itself was located in the heart of the city, a massive structure divided into two distinct parts. The outer section was bustling with activity, housing all the administrative functions of the guild. It was a hive of energy, where members trained, strategized, and collaborated. This part of the building was open to the public and featured a training facility for members, a spacious canteen, an impressive museum showcasing the guild's history and achievements, and a well-stocked library. Every conceivable facility was available, making it a vital hub for both guild members and visitors alike.

The guild's expansive grounds covered tens of acres, a testament to its influence and prestige. In fact, the Laxan guild had become something of a tourist attraction, drawing visitors who were eager to witness its grandeur firsthand. The meticulously maintained gardens, the towering statues of legendary founding guild masters, and the state-of-the-art facilities all contributed to its allure. The museum, in particular, was a highlight, featuring artifacts, trophies, and memorabilia from the guild's storied past.

'Quite grand,' Lloyd thought, his eyes widening at the sight.

"Welcome, Mr. Lloyd. We have been eagerly awaiting your arrival. Please follow me, and I will guide you from here," said a distinguished-looking man as Lloyd stepped out of the limo. This was the branch manager, who bowed respectfully before leading Lloyd towards the entrance.

Since there was no other form of transportation available to reach the inner sanctum of the guild, they had to walk. The pathway was lined with lush greenery and intricate sculptures, creating an atmosphere of serene beauty. As they approached the inner building, Lloyd noticed the increase in security measures. Guards were stationed at every corner, and surveillance cameras were strategically placed to monitor every inch of the premises.

Upon entering the inner building, Lloyd was struck by the stark difference in ambiance. The security presence was significantly heightened, which made sense given the invaluable artifacts and confidential documents housed within its walls. The inner building was a fortress, designed to protect the guild's most precious assets.

The office of the Guild Master was located on the second floor, so they took the elevator up. As soon as they stepped out, Lloyd was greeted by a familiar presence who startled him with a sudden, tight hug.

"You're finally here!" Lise exclaimed, holding him tightly as if she hadn't seen him in years.

While lightly hugging her back, Lloyd gently pushed her aside. She seemed much clingier than during their last encounter, but considering they had stayed in touch after the incident, their friendship had deepened. Her affectionate behavior, though surprising, was not entirely unwelcome.

Lise was wearing a simple black dress that complemented her figure perfectly, and she smelled softly sweet, like a rose in full bloom. Her hair was neatly styled, and she radiated a cheerful energy that was infectious.

"Is there something your dad wanted to talk to me about?" Lloyd asked, trying to get back on track.

"I don't know. He didn't tell me anything except that he had invited you," she replied, looking puzzled. Her confusion was genuine, and it seemed she was just as curious about the meeting as he was.

"Well, come with me. He's in his office," she said, taking his hand and leading him down the corridor.

Lise didn't bother to knock. She burst right into the office and announced, "He's here, Dad!"

The office was spacious and elegantly furnished, with large windows offering a panoramic view. The Guild Master, a distinguished man with a commanding presence, looked up from his desk. His eyes twinkled with a mixture of warmth and authority as he rose to greet Lloyd.

"Welcome, Lloyd. I'm glad you accepted my invitation. I hope I didn't cause hindrance to you," he said, extending a hand.

Lloyd shook his hand firmly. "N-no sir not at all It's my pleasure to be here."

"Please, have a seat," the Guild Master gestured to a pair of comfortable chairs in front of his desk. "Lise, I would like you to give us a moment of privacy."

"Whyyy, Dad?" she asked, her voice filled with a mix of curiosity and mild frustration.

"Please do as I said," her dad responded firmly, yet kindly.

Even though she pouted cutely, her lips forming a small pout, she complied and left the office, giving them a moment of privacy. The door closed softly behind her, leaving Lloyd alone with the Guild Master.

"Is there something you wanted to discuss with me, sir?" Lloyd asked, trying to maintain a respectful tone.

"You don't have to address me so formally. You can just call me Mr. Valentine or Mr. Leo," he said with a soft, deep, calming voice.

In appearance, Lukes Valentine was tall, standing about 6'2". Like his daughter, he had black hair, and his features were sharp. Despite his youthful appearance, which could easily fool anyone into thinking he was in his twenties, he was approaching his thirties. He was a handsome man with a good sense of style, presenting himself neatly and professionally. His deep voice, while resonant, had a calming effect rather than being intimidating.

"Yes, I invited you to personally thank you for saving my daughter and expressing my gratitude for saving the only memory of my wife," Mr. Valentine continued, his expression sincere.

Saying that to show his gratitude he bowed his head in front of Lloyd.
