Reincarnated, But why?

This is my first book. I got a lot of ideas for books but never took the time to sit down and write/type one out. This is gonna be my first so we can see how well it goes. The story as of now will follow the protagonist Lit Tucker, who will be reincarnated into the world of Mercia. Mercia is a beautiful world full of elves, humans, demons, monsters, and magicians. Join Lit while he goes on an adventure to find excitement and love, and tries to figure out why exactly he was reincarnated.

Do all dogs go to heaven?

Once everyone backed away I started rain questions for the gods. What exactly happened to me for me to be killed? Where am I reincarnating too? Is there magic? Bloodlines? Superheroes? Babes? Dragons?

As soon as I started to think of all these questions Sylva interrupted me and told me and everyone else to sit before we start talking.

After everyone sat down they started to answer all my questions. After being a nerd who read tons of comics, novels, and played tons of video games, I wanted to know exactly what kinda world these gods were reincarnating me into.

"First of all, you died because of the gods present. Gods aren't to mess with lower beings because it messes up causality, fate, and depending on the severity, the timeline. The gods present got into an argument about something over your pay grade. While we were arguing a nearby planet exploded, naturally of course, but while it exploded, a pretty big part of the world broke and headed toward this Dimensions Door. It wasn't a danger, but more like an annoying fly, and while we were duking it out with each other, someone who shall not be named swatted it away like a fly.

*cough*

The redhead goddess actually looked embarrassed which could only mean one thing, she was the one who swatted the planet-sized rock. And if that wasn't enough evidence, the looked everyone was giving her was telling me that I was correct.

" Anyways" she continued while looming away from everyone.

"When the god swatter the rock away, it broke into a bunch of small pieces, almost all the rocks burned up while traveling and entering a bunch of other plants atmospheres"

"The one that hit your house and killed you should have taken out your entire world. We could have easily saved you, but then that means we would have had to pick you to survive while everyone else died."

"Huh, what do you mean," I asked

"What she means is that gods cant do everything boy." Replied Tristan

" If we saved you, that means we put a value on your fate and soul, all the fate, possible futures, and pasts of the people of your planet, we put you above all of that. Or, we choose to sacrifice you and save everyone else, which still puts a value on your fate and soul, but positively due to your sacrifice." finished Tristan

"But why did anyone have to die in the first place? Can't you just stop the meteor? Or destroy it? Push it off course or something?" I said angrily

"Because every planet and galaxy had a certain limit of how much divine energy they can hold," said Heimdall and he looked at me with pity.

"You see, all gods and divine beings emit divine energy even if we hold back, we still emit a small amount just existing, and while doing so, the galaxy and planets absorb that divine energy, turning it into a life force for the planets, and sometimes giving life to uninhabited planets. Some planets grow supernatural properties which can help grow strong beings."

" Usually the first thing to be generated and born into these worlds is mana, and then mana beasts and then beings who can weild mana. Your world has potential, and because of that, we have sent dreams and visions of other worlds to humans on your earth so your people can be prepared for your earth's eventual evolution"

"But since we interfered so much, there was very little room for us to use our powers to save you or destroy the meteor due to its limit"

"And before you ask about the limit and how it works I'll tell you" interrupted Blake

"Imagine a balloon filled with water, the balloon is your planet, while the water is divine energy. Too much energy and the balloon pops. Now you're a smart boy so I don't think I need to explain what happens if there is too much divine energy on your earth right?"

"Anyways, once the world is full, it will slowly absorb all that energy to its core and once that is done it will take a few centuries before evolving. The whole process will take a few thousand years to complete."

"Why couldn't you stop the meteor before it reached earth?" I asked

"Same concept as your earth, but for the galaxy this time." Replied Toli

"So many planets are undergoing evolutions in your galaxy that if one of them were to explode while being that close to evolving the pieces of that world would hit another planet, causing a chain reaction, killing trillions."

"Your galaxy also has a limit to how much divine energy it has, and it was very close to being full too, and if your galaxy explodes that will put other galaxies in danger" so we slowed the meteor and made it as small as possible that way only one person had to die from it"

So you mean to say that in exchange for my life, you saved trillions? I asked with an almost calm attitude. But I definitely didn't forget about how they mentioned there was another life in my home galaxy besides life on Earth. Earth only has about 8 billion people on it, which means all the other trillion people are not of Earth.

"Yes, that is why you will be reincarnated and we each will give you a personal gift from each of us for forcing such a burden on your shoulders." Replied Sylva

"But wait, I wasn't the only one who died in that incident, I have a cat who died, and what about my family? I said, almost crying when I thought about my cat who has been a good friend of mine for over a decade, and also my family who lost a son and brother out of nowhere.

"You don't need to worry about your cat, since it was a small animal, it wasn't going to create any waves in the timeline or rivers of fate" replied Samson with a proud yet sad smile on his face.

"More importantly, animals that don't have enough sentience and intelligence don't classify as beings, only animals. Most monsters also fit into this category. Once they reach a certain level they will be classified as a "Being", almost all usually have humanoid characteristics. Until they get to that point, if they die, they go to a different dimension that is basically heaven for animals, only their souls go there, not their bodies. But their souls act as a true bodies. It's a paradise, with plenty of food, plants that taste like their favorite food litter the dimension and never stop growing, also no fights happen, no wars, no territorial disputes. You have nothing to worry about, I've been there a few times with the permission of their God Emperors, and I can tell you now. Your cat will be in heaven for the rest of time, or at least until he gets bored and decides to enter the cycle of reincarnation again" announced Samson while looking me dead in the eye

"So that saying about all dogs going to heaven is true, but for all animals?" I asked with a stupid smile on my face

"Haha, yes that is right, except for the occasional dog that goes down to visit Cerberus, from what I hear from the dogs who go down there, he is a big brother to all dogs, and loves to share his collection of delicious bones with the dogs who take up the challenge to visit him" replied Samson who started smiling at me the same way a fat kid smiles at cake on his birthday.

"Hahaha, good, that's very good, thank you for that information sir Samson," I said. I was truly happy to know my lazy cat gets to be lazy even more, it's not like he will be able to get a girlfriend anyways.

"About your family, we can't use any of our powers to help your family directly, but we have some connections with some influential beings in your world, we can have them help your family with donations, and counseling and I promise to make sure that for the next 500 generations, your families prosper, obviously without affecting the world negativity." Finished Catherine, who had a slight blush on her face while smiling.
