The Revelation

"If what you're saying is true, then I suppose we have to prepare for the worst,"

The librarian lady said with a resolute voice. She pulled open a drawer and grabbed a thing from it.

It was this old-looking amulet, covered in weird symbols that glowed. She eyed the amulet like she wasn't sure she wanted to know what it had to say.

She muttered some words over it, looking more suspicious by the second.

Then, the amulet lit up, showing us some wild scenes—crazy storms, tornadoes, red rain pouring, shadow entities lurking, and... a dragon growling.

It was like a bad forecast for the end of the world.

"This amulet tells the future. It can only work once a year; I'm glad I didn't use this amulet for other purposes."

She sighed. Her gorgeous face looked weary,

"Have you ever come across information about the significant event known as the Great Collision?"

Arlo looked at me for a second, "No... I haven't heard about something like that."

"I see. Well, it's not common knowledge. I have only managed to know a little piece of this important revelation."

The librarian lady stood up and roamed through the bookshelves. She grabbed a thin book from one of the big shelves. I could see specks of dust flying as she retrieved the book.

She took a moment to wipe off the dust from the book, then shared,

"This book is one of the pieces of 'The Revelation.' There used to be just one big book, but the shadow people tried to wipe it out. Oddly enough, they couldn't get rid of it completely. So, they decided to split it into four volumes and hid them away. The one in my hands is the only volume people know about."

As she carefully turned the aged pages, she added,

"It's like a puzzle. Each volume holds a part of the whole truth. Some say these books reveal a prophecy or a secret about the great collision. The shadow people couldn't erase the revelation, but they made it harder for anyone to find the whole story."

She paused, looking at the worn pages with a mix of curiosity and caution.

"It makes you wonder what they were so keen on hiding, doesn't it?"

Arlo fixed his gaze on the book, anxiously chewing his lower lip.

"Anyway, the reason I brought up the great collision is because..."

The librarian paused, occupied with finding a particular page in the book. She located it and then presented the page to us while pointing, saying,

"This!"

Her wise demeanor changed to that of a fanatic.

"Mmh! They say a dragon's gonna show up as a sign of the big collision. Can you imagine, a dragon? I'm dying to see it. I heard that the claw of a dragon would be very beneficial in magical experiments. And hey, did you know that if we manage to tame the dragon, every other monster and friendly critter will obey you?"

I could see a picture of a dragon and some text scattered on the page. I couldn't read the text because it was written in a language that I wasn't familiar with.

"Can you explain what's written there? I can't read it," Arlo asked her.

I winced at Arlo's words, "So, you can't read it too?"

The librarian scanned the page,

"It's because this revelation was written in an ancient language. Rest assured, I can read it for you guys."

The librarian lady read from the ancient book, telling us more about the dragon and the big mess it could cause.

The book said that the dragon wasn't just a symbol; it was a key that would unlock chaos during the Great Collision.

This Collision was like two worlds crashing into each other, bringing crazy storms, tornadoes, and blood rain.

She explained that parts of a dragon's body could bring great benefits such as its claws, scales, saliva, blood, bones, skin, and most importantly, its heart.

It is said that a dragon's heart could heal someone completely and grant them the dragon's skills.

"But," she paused.

"Defeating a dragon is not an easy task. Since performing the act of defeating a dragon requires a divine force, I'd say it's an impossible one. I researched the term 'divine force' but I couldn't find anything. Maybe the other 3 volumes contain some information regarding this 'divine force'. But, we only have this book."

The atmosphere became tense; I could see Arlo was gulping out of nervousness.

Arlo opened his mouth; he was going to speak when the lady interrupted him,

"Hold on, I'm not done yet." Arlo shut his mouth and eyed me.

"The great collision will eventually lead to the end of the 2 worlds. And no, I have no idea about the other world and what it is like."

Her gaze fell on me, "But, I think some of the other volumes are hidden in that world, your world."

My thoughts began to stream, "So, you're saying that my world and your world are colliding?"

I was startled by the librarian's statement.

She nodded, "I'm a hundred percent sure that's the case."

I gulped at the thought of my mom dying. I felt hopeless and weak, "How could this be?"

The lady librarian approached me,

"We have to do something, or else the revelation will truly come true. I suspect that your advent has something to do with the collision. Therefore, I need your cooperation."
