Chapter 77: The Great Auction

"So what do you think about the recent events about the mortals?" asked Ken Hai with a small smile.

"I don't really care. It has nothing to do with me." said Si Lan coldly. Like almost every cultivator she felt nothing towards them not only that she was raised by cultivators with giant sticks up their ass.

Of course she'd looked down on them because their weak. Ken Hai kept up his calm but smiling facade.

"I see, but it's been the talk of the city so far, I heard many cultivators from the various sects, who had mortal parents are worried."

It was same for the mortals at Neo Arcadia, Ken Hai then started plans to take over the country. But he'll be travelling a lot and he'll need someone to look over the country while he's gone.

I sat in the VIP lounge in the Auction house. Si Lan and I were surrounded by a few other high end individuals.

I took a sip of my wine and smiled as I looked down, Si Lan sat beside not speaking. There wasn't much to speak about anyway.

However a young man strutted over, he looked like a shitty brain dead young master.

"Well well well, if it isn't the great sword maiden of the Tyrant Sword Sect, my name Laohu Qian of the floating tiger sect." he introduced himself with a cocky smile on his face.

Si Lan gave him a glance before looking down back to the stage. Seeing that he's being ignored the young master who Ken Hai didn't even bother to register began to flex his cultivation.

But a glance and wave of massive amounts of killing intent weighed down on him. His skin turned pale as he began to break out in a cold sweat.

"Young master Lu Pou. It seem Si Lan isn't in a good mood today, you can speak to her some other time." says Ken Hai with the most kindest smile ever.

Lu Poatzi(Not even the narrator is bothering to remember his name.) walked away and didn't say anything.

Soon a beautiful woman came out who came rivalling that of Si Lan if not surpassing her in looks due to having a more mature figure.

"My name is Cai Mei and I'm here to host this annual auction again and hopefully many more to come. However before we begin I'd like to apologize, due to the disappearance of the mortals from a few days ago we have no mortal slaves. As such we apologize." she finishes with a bow.

Hearing this a bout of rage erupted in Ken Hai, but he understood that this world is primitive and that explains why a small amount of mortals were in chains.

Though it looks like he'll have to free any slave he sees, he doesn't care if any or cultivators or mortals it was wrong.

"Now for our first item is a mysterious jade found in some ruins up east." she says as a trolly rolls with a beautiful a piece of emerald coloured jade.

"Next we have a a piece of Crimson Star Meteorite that landed over a few hundred years ago." say Cai Mei as a piece of a pure black rock with blood red markings which looked like stars in the night sky appeared.

That was a lot of money being thrown around, if Ken Hai when he just started his journey heard this he'd gape in shock and held his chest in pain at the high number.

"I see." Ken Hai didn't really study the economy in the country much. When he takes over they'll be no need as Neo Arcadia is very self sufficient country that wouldn't even need trade.

"I bid 350,000 golden lien!" said a beautiful blonde woman, with pink eyeliner and pink fur like scarf around her neck, she had a fan which she used to cover her face, she also was apart of the VIP booth.

"And she?" Si Lan gave him the side eye, wanting to know if she had competition. But seeing the look on his face, she knew he had no interest I her.

"Her name is Heun Jun, she's head of one of the major trading families in the country."

[Seriously? The one time you decide to come to an auction a bunch of high level individuals show up? You really are a cultivation mc.] said Eva, Ken Hai internally sighed.

It was time for him to bid.

"Going once going twice! If you don't bid now you might lose this chance!" said Cai Mei.

"I bid 550,000 golden lien." said Ken Hai who felt an invisible punch to his gut.

You see one of the reasons Ken Hai steals from rich clans and sect is because he likes money.

Hearing his bid both Tie Huxu and Heun Jun turned their heads at Ken Hai and narrowed their eyes.

Ken Hai looked at them with an unchanging stoic expression. They said nothing as Ken Hai won the bid.
