The Fall of The Bear

The bear looked all around in circles to search for Matthew's whereabouts in the dust cloud. But no matter where he looked, the bear wouldn't be able to find Matthew who is currently walking very carefully to avoid his footsteps from being heard by the bear while being completely invisible using his chameleon aura ability.

Matthew slowly circled the bear and went near the bear's left hand, which is the last remaining hand that the bear could barely use because of Matthew's repeated attacks on the bear's hands before.

And after doing the sudden claw attack earlier that caused the dust cloud, the bear is now literally leaning the front part of his body to his left hand since his right hand is now unusable with the bones broken and the muscles were torn apart and it has caused the bear to completely lose the ability to control his right hand.

Looking at the unguarded left hand that only needed a little pseudo-crocodile bite from Matthew to get it into the same state as the bear's right hand, Matthew was tempted to just ditch his stealthiness and just jump forward to snatch a quick bite to the bear's left hand.

With only about less than a meter distance between Matthew's wolf mouth and the bear's left hand, it won't even take a second for Matthew to snap his mouth open and crush the bear's hand.

But looking at the yellow aura that covered the bear's whole body, Matthew was quite unsure if that was the right thing to do. This is the first time that Matthew had encountered a creature that was able to use an aura with a yellow color rather than the usual white color that the aura has.

Matthew did remember that the system had mentioned such things as elemental aura exists, but he didn't know what they look like and what they exactly do.

'Is this one of those elemental auras that the system mentioned before? If so, what element does the yellow color represent? And what would happen if I made direct contact with it? If it was a fire aura then would it burn my mouth if I decided to bite the bear's hand?'

'I should have asked the system about aura… nevermind it wouldn't give me any additional information regarding aura other than those basics stuff.'

Matthew was currently still laid low in the dust cloud that was about to disappear soon. Even with his full invisibility, Matthew somehow felt anxious that the bear would detect his presence somehow and sent another one of those flying yellow lights to him again since he didn't know what would really happen to him if it did really hit his body.

Seeing the huge dust cloud that even took more than 10 seconds to vanish, the power of the yellow light certainly packs a considerable power that can severely harm Matthew even with his crocodile scutes.

Matthew had already thought of running away after seeing the sudden appearance of the unknown yellow light on the bear's body. But he was startled earlier, and he just went with his instincts to counterattack the bear and used the dust cloud to his advantage to disappear out of the bear's sight.

And now that he is literally beside the bear's left hand, and with his panic and confusion from earlier subsided significantly, he still didn't want to give up. Matthew already saw the finish line only a few steps away from him. If he succeeded in breaking both of the bear's hands, then the bear would lose its attacking capabilities significantly.

And not only that, with two of his hands being unusable. The bear either has to stand on its two legs or lean its body to a tree somehow since putting more pressure on its already shattered bones and torn muscles will give the bear an unimaginable level of pain.

Which means that the last thing that Matthew has to worry about is the bear's legs. Since the bear's face is literally about 1 and a half meters above his own and with that distance, Matthew could dodge easily if the bear decided to use its mouth to bite Matthew.

'Whatever the element that the bear used right now might be, it shouldn't be the fire element since I didn't feel any heat at all even when I'm in close proximity with both the yellow blade light and the bear itself.'

'My best guess is either the wind element or the earth element.'

'The worst possible thing to happen to me is either being suddenly blasted off by a surge of wind or I would be biting into bones that were as hard as steel, both of them are nothing that I couldn't take.'

When the dust cloud finally vanished from the area, Matthew had also finished considering his next plan of action.

Matthew didn't know how the elemental aura ability worked and if the bear is capable of utilizing its legs to make one of those flying yellow light blades. But considering the gains and losses from succeeding in breaking both of the bear's hands, in the end. Matthew decided to do it.

Steeling his nerves for what's about to come, Matthew locked on his eyes to his target, which is the bear's left hand, before positioning his body to pounce towards the hand.

And when the dust cloud had disappeared, Matthew looked at the bear who was scanning its surroundings to search for his whereabouts. The bear looked to his left, right, in front and behind him, but Matthew wasn't hasty at all and waited for the right moment to come.

And when the bear had finally looked upwards towards the trees as if expecting Matthew to do another jumping attack, Matthew quickly kicked off his feet against the ground, opened his wolf mouth wide, and pounced on the bear's remaining usable hand. Matthew's mouth penetrated the yellow aura just like the white aura without having to deal with any backlash that he expected.

Matthew didn't waste any time as the moment the bear's hand was inside Matthew's mouth. Matthew quickly bit down as hard as he could, utilizing the added crocodile parts to his body in an instant he started biting down avoiding any delay.

While Matthew opened up his mouth, he also visualizes his aura rushing towards his jaw muscles, the bones and teeth inside his mouth, in hopes that the aura that was spread all over his body will gather at that point to boost them even further to help him break the bear's bones as quickly as possible to prevent the bear from putting up any resistance before it was already too late.

With Matthew currently using the chameleon's aura ability, Matthew wasn't sure that he would be able to easily break the bear's bones if he didn't use the assistance of the wolf's aura ability. Hence why he tried to control his aura to surge towards his head to enhance the body parts that were used to break the crocodile's hands.

With his success in defeating the bear and his life on the line, the strength of Matthew's will and determination to defeat the bear is at its peak as it all depends on whether he would be able to successfully break the bear's hands before the bear was able to retaliate.

With his firm will and resolute state of mind, the aura inside Matthew's body heeded his call to rush into the certain body parts that he had told them to go. The aura rushed in and Matthew felt his biting power doubled and he even felt that his current biting strength is even stronger than when he used the wolf's aura ability.

And just like that, Matthew succeeded in partially recreating the wolf's aura ability to enhance his jaw muscles, and the bones and teeth of his mouth while he was still using the chameleon's aura ability.

With the boost of strength that he suddenly got, Matthew finally succeeded in breaking the bones of the bear's hand with another loud cracking sound that reverberated towards the nearby area. And with that cracking sound, it signaled Matthew succeeded in breaking both of the bear's hands.

The bear who was still searching for Matthew's whereabouts didn't expect that a sharp pain would suddenly strike his left hand. He saw nothing on his left hand, but the bear knew that such pain wouldn't just appear out of nowhere.

But before he was able to jerk his hand out of Matthew's mouth, the bear felt the pressure in his hand increased significantly and soon another loud cracking sound resounded and an immense pain assaulted his left hand.

Fortunately for the bear, after Matthew heard the cracking sound and he felt that the resistance on his mouth was gone, Matthew hurriedly released the bear's hand from his bite.

The bear felt a really intense pain that it even affected his head to feel the pressure. The bear was so enraged that he wanted to just jump out and fly into a fit of rage by swinging his arms blindly. But he couldn't even do that as both of his hands are practically just boiled noodles at this point.

After finishing his task, Matthew took a few steps back before deactivating his aura ability. He didn't know how many drops of aura were left in his aura tank, but he definitely felt that it would soon run out in the next 10 seconds even if he didn't turn it off on his own.

But now that his objective was completed and the bear had become a way easier target for him, Matthew confidently, but cautiously went on the offensive as he took special attention to the bear's legs and mouth as they were the last defense method that the bear had.

Matthew took his time harassing the bear as he didn't use his wolf's aura ability and his ordinary claw attacks were only sufficient to leave shallow cuts on the bear's yellow aura-cladded body, but he still did it nonetheless to annoy the bear as he waited for the bear's aura to run out.

The bear did try to use its legs to launch another yellow blade light but the control was so bad that Matthew could leisurely dodge them without putting much effort and the same goes with the bear's attempt to bite Matthew's head off using its mouth that was full of saliva.

As minutes went by, the bear's yellow light dimmed and soon, it disappeared completely.

And Matthew's earlier question about the yellow light's effect on his venom was answered the moment the yellow light disappeared.

After the yellow light vanished, the bear started to wobble uncontrollably, its eyes losing their light and the bear's huge body fell to the ground with a boom and blood started flowing out of both of his hands where his muscles were cut off, the huge cut on the left side of his body opened up once again, and the countless cuts that Matthew made to the bear's body finally shown their effectiveness as some of the cuts are deeper than the others that blood started to flow out as well.

'Ah finally, let's borrow the bear's nest for a bit. A sleep sounds really nic..'
