After finishing this, Basmon finally had time to check the notifications from the system.
'System, Please relay the messages you sent that I ignored...But skip the quest completion one' Basmon asked the system.
<Hidden Quest Complete: Kill a magical creature: Gained Reward: Aura, +40TP>
<Arrow Summon Level Up, Now summonsed arrows are stronger>
<Ice Arrow Leveled up, Now Ice Lance>
<Note: Due to limitation(Bow), Ice Lance Devolved into Ice Arrow, Ice arrow gained new attribute: Piercing>
<Arrow Bounce Level Up: Lasts 2 seconds longer>
<Teleportation level up: Now Can teleport anywhere within a 12 Meter radius>
<Large Announcement: Spectral body Level up. Limit on Spectral body full release; Now can move living objects>
Finally, the system notifications stopped ringing and gave time so Basmon could read them all.
'Hmm...The only things here that interest me are Ice arrow, Spectral Body, and Aura...' Basmon thought and then decided to test them.
First, he tested the ice arrow. It turns out it just buries itself deep inside an object then explodes, freezing the target from the inside.
Next is the Spectral body. He already kind of understood what this meant. Earlier, whilst trying to save Clarke, he couldn't move him at all. It should seem that has changed. To test this, he picked up Vatue, and sure enough, he could do it just fine.
Now. Aura. The new attribute/skill. 'System, Information of Aura, Please...' Basmon requested.
<Aura: Bloodlust, can be used to threaten enemies, any with a weaker aura than you will fall from the pressure, suppresses those stronger than you (Stronger but do not have aura/ weaker aura), if they have a stronger aura you will be suppressed. Currently have 20, increases by 1 for each kill (Living Creatures only)>
'Oh wow... How interesting. It should seem that I cannot form it like Vatue, as he has a slightly different skill... Aura Domination. But still, this should be quite useful... Lets try it on Vatue first...' Basmon thought, telling Vatue to come to him.
'Vatue, I'm going to try and suppress you with my aura. At first do not resist, but after a bit resist.' Basmon told Vatue.
'Ok, Dada! I won't hurt you!' Vatue said cheerfully.
Basmon summoned his Aura and pressed it down on Vatue. Unlike Vatue, his Aura was not red. His was pure black.
(AN: Spoiler: Keep his Black Aura in mind)
What then surprised Basmon, was that his Aura did not affect Vatue at all. Basmon assumed that was because he had 160 Aura, while he only had 20. Suddenly, Basmon felt pressure shove him down.
<-1 Damage- Spectral Body Died>
<-10 Durability>
<-10 Durability>
<-10 Durabilty>
'Stop! Stop Vatue!' Basmon yelled using telepathy. How did he take more damage? Last time whilst in bow form he did not take any durability damage!
'Hey! Vatue! Why did I take more damage this time?' Basmon asked Vatue after summoning Spectral Body again.
"Oh, That's because you resisted. When you resit you take more damage, just like if a large wave slammed into you, it would hurt more if you resisted than if you just let it take you away.' Vatue explained, surprising Basmon with his level of explanation. He expected it to be another explanation like; 'Aura is Aura!'
'Oh... I guess that makes sense. Could you maybe teach me how to manipulate aura?' Basmon asked Vatue.
"Oh... I don't know... It comes naturally because of my skill, but I guess I could try... You know how with mana, you don't force it into a place, you kinda guide it? Well auras the opposite. You force it?" Vatue said, a questioning look on his face as though he didn't even understand it himself.
From what Vatue had said, Basmon gathered that, unlike mana, Aura had to be forced around to be shaped. After learning this, Basmon went to practice.
He sat down by a tree and got into the meditation pose he generally did for preparing himself. On that note, he remembered he had lost 30 Durability, so he healed that first. Then he started to try and move the Aura. First, though, he had to find it. After a bit of searching through his body, he learned that aura was not contained in one place, like his mana in his consciousness. Turns out it just wanders around his body, and first he had to gather it up.
The first thing he tried was the opposite of what he should have. He treated it like mana. He tried to just move it, let it flow naturally like mana and/or a muscle. Sadly for him, the Aura didn't even react.
'Oh yeah... Vatue said forcefully...' Basmon thought, realizing he had been dumb.
He then tried to release his aura, just to study it. Like a boar unleashed, it charged out of his body, pressing down on everything around them. Sure enough, it taught him something. With a wild boar, you don't just let it do whatever you want. You shoot it. Now, obviously, Basmon wasn't suicidal, but he understood he had to literally force the aura to obey him.
At first, he could barely budge the aura, but after a while, it slowly became easier. After about 10 hours, Basmon could finally move the aura, albeit only a small amount. He could now move it to one part of his body. The next step was the gather it all in one place.
This seemed to be the hardest part, as he had to press all his aura together. Basmon guessed he was lucky, because he didn't have much aura, so it was a bit easier.
After a couple of hours of struggling, basmon was finally able to start shoving all the aura together. He felt like he was using his hands to press together a strong water balloon, with random parts escaping his tight grip. After a 'bit' of time though, he was finally able to force all the aura to one point. Now, the second hardest part of the whole thing was done.
Finally, to shape it into some shape. This wasn't really needed, but just in case, for the future, when Basmon needed it, he could theoretically form some sort of weapon or use it in some other way. At the very least, he could focus his pressure on one point and not hurt any teammates.
This was what felt (And Was) the hardest part. Trying to mold the aura. Now that he had all his aura gathered in his hand, he now had to shove it out of his hand then mold that aura, and KEEP it formed.
The first couple of times trying to get the aura out of Basmon's body failed, with his Aura rushing out like before. After a couple of tries, Basmon was able to restrain the aura sufficiently and keep it in a black ball outside of his hand. Now, to try and shape the aura.
Basmon felt like he was living as the people who had carved out Mount Rushmore. Shaping the aura felt impossible, like shaping clay with already hard clay. It turns out you need A LOT of force to shape your aura.
(AN: I know they used dynamite when carving Mount Rushmore, just pretend they didn't)
Basmon slowly started to chip away at the aura, forming it into the shape of a bow. He was actually copying his own design. A couple of times he failed and released his aura, but after a couple of hours, it only took him 3 minutes to fully gather his aura back into the ball.
Slowly, shaping the aura became easier. It took a while, but slowly the bow started to form. Soon, he had everything except for the string made. It turns out that was the hardest part to shape, as it was extremely thin. Another thing Basmon learned was that aura would never make a bow, it was much too brittle to make a bowstring. He still wanted to form the bow though.
After about 16 hours of shaping, Basmon had finally gotten down how to shape his aura. He quickly stopped making the bow, however, as not only was it unnecessarily hard, it was useless. Take Vatue's axes for instance. They needed to be hard, and the shaping of them did not have any extra and unnecessary carving. '
After doing that, Basmon decided to just form some daggers. At least he could use them as throwing knives, and he could control them as they were made of his aura. At least, that was his original idea. But then he realized that moving his aura while shaped more than a couple of inches from his was almost impossible. It was no wonder Vatue couldn't show Basmon his axes. Turns out it becomes almost impossible to keep it formed. Basmon then gave up on the throwing knives up, and decided to just practice forming a sword. He guessed he could use it in a time of need.
After learning how to form the sword in under 5 minutes, Basmon started to test it. And yes, Vatue did make fun of Basmon for how slow he was.
'First, let's test this thing's durability. Or I guess my auras durability.' Basmon decided.
He slammed the sword into a tree... And it just bounced off. 'Oops... I forgot to make it sharp...' Basmon moaned, as he would now have to make the edge of the blade sharp. The one thing he realized was that his aura was almost indestructible, so it might make a good shield. Sure enough, that was a good idea, after all, Arrow Bounce couldn't always save him.
