The first thing Basmon had to do was spread his aura out in a circular fashion. This part wasn't extremely hard, and he soon was able to do that. After doing such, he started to design the shield. He raised the inner circle a bit, and made it look more like Cap' America's Shield.
After doing all that, the sole thing left was for Basmon to test the shield, and speed up the time it took to summon it.
To test the shield's defense, Basmon had Vatue attack it. Basmon swung at the shield with all his might, but his attacks just bounced off. After doing that, Basmon decided to do one last test, to make sure it could defend against magical attacks.
Basmon had the shield on the back of his left forearm, so he could still shoot a bow. He summonsed a magical fire arrow, and released it. After it had traveled a bit, Basmon used arrow bounce, sending it back towards Basmon.
Basmons arm raised up, ready to deflect the flaming arrow. The arrow flew towards the shield... And passed right through it.
<-1 Damage, Spectral Body Died>
From this experiment Basmon learned that mana can pass right through aura, so his shield can only block physical attacks. It should seem that the shield would not be perfect. At the very least, Basmon could focus using Arrow Bounce on magic, and let his aura shield defend against physical attacks.
After doing this, Basmon started to practice forming the shield quickly. After about 18 hours of hard work, Basmon succeeded in summoning the shield in under 20 seconds, which was his goal. One final thing he learned whilst testing with Vatue was that Aura is not unbreakable. If your opponent used aura to fight you, should they have the intent, they could break your aura, causing immense backlash. The reason this didn't happen in the first test was because Vatue had no intention of harming Basmon's aura, lest Vatue would utterly destroy it.
<System Notification: Hidden Quest Complete: Basic Aura Control: Reward: +20 Aura, Basic Map>
'Ohh! That's convenient, I need more aura. Now I can make the shield stronger. I think I am starting to understand these hidden quests... It seems they appear every time I do/learn something significant, like aura control. That makes sense.' Basmon Stated. 'Also, that map could be extremely useful...Not sure how it relates to the quest, but I'll accept it... System, the map item information please'
<Basic Map: 1-time use item, makes a map of the surrounding area>
After making the map, Basmon and Vatue decided to leave the forest, and go to a neighboring country, Egren, which according to the map, was the sole country surrounding the forest that was friendly towards beasts. They had decided that they were strong enough now to defend themselves.
After 8 days of walking, Vatue and Basmon finally made it to the edge of Egren's territory. Surrounding the entire country there was a large wall, with places along it supposedly for coming in/out. After a bit of debating, Basmon and Vatue got into the long line going inside. Vatue, as a large and quick-growing child, was already big enough to sling Basmon across his back.
Therefore, Basmo had Vatue sling Basmon on Vatues back, for ease of carrying and transport. After a couple of hours of waiting, they finally got to the front of the line.
"Sir! Papers!" The man waited to asked of Vatue.
Sure enough, they would have to provide proof of identity. So now, Vatue would have to make an excuse to get in. The other problem was that Vatue was not only a minotaur but also a child. This could easily be a problem here. The minotaur problem was obvious, you would have to be blind to notice it. Thankfully, this country accepted all humanoid species other than; Dragon, Monster types (Ex: Goblins)
"Oh... Well sir, I was just born... I don't have any papers..." Vatue answered honestly, shocking Basmon. 'Wow... I would have responded with some like 'I dropped them all when I was robbed' or something. I can't tell if that was smart or pure luck and a perfect setup...'
"Oh... A newborn... Alright, I'll issue you your papers, just remember next time it will cost 1 gold coin.
<System Information: 1 Gold=100 Silver, 1 Silver= 100 Coper. 3 Silver is enough for a basic family to survive for a year.
"Alright son, come here" The worker motions, having basmon come to him. Some sort of equipment appeared out of his hand, and scanned Vatues eyes, then his whole body. After about 15 minutes it was done.
"What does it say" Vatueyelled, asking what it said.
"Hmm... Ok. Age: 1 Year. Name: Vatue. Aptitude: 6.0 (1-10)." The man responded, showing Vatue his results. The officer gave Vatue the passport, then the guard let Basmon right into the country. Sure enough, it wouldn't be super hard getting into this country.
*Somewhere Else
"Akk! Help! SOMEONE! Help!" On the floor, a Minotaur called out for help. No one heard it, or if they did they ignored it. "Somone! Please! This is illegal!" The Minotaur called out in desperation, but sadly for it, no one came to its rescue.
*Across Egren
In another place, the same scene happened again.
"Help! This is illegal!" A dwarf yelled, but every one near him ignored him, letting the people holding him pass.
"Shut up magot... The laws will change soon anyways!" A large man holding the dwarf by one arm yelled, frightening nearby people. Sadly, it should seem that maybe this country wasn't quite as accepting as it should seem from the outside...
*Back To Basmon
'Look! Dada!' Vatue exclaimed, pointing to a large 5 story building, in the shape of a circular tower. Vatue ran around, looking at the sites excitedly. Everywhere there was something new, a new sight, a new smell. Everything was new to him, and it even surprised Basmon how clean the city was. In his memory, he remembered that a basic city in the middle ages should be disgusting...
After looking around for a bit, they decided to focus on their original goal.
