A was momentarily caught off-guard, his gaze darting around the mirrors as he tried to keep track of Ryomaru's movements. Ryomaru seized this opportunity, striking from different mirrors, his ice-cold fists lashing out at A with renewed fervor.
His strikes, however, were still evaded. A's superior speed and agility were a daunting match for Ryomaru's relentless onslaught. His frustration grew, the taste of defeat bitter on his tongue.
"Enough!" A's commanding voice echoed around them, bringing the assault to an abrupt halt. The ice mirrors dissipated into thin air, and Ryomaru stood panting heavily, his body covered in a thin sheen of sweat, his chest rising and falling with the effort.
"Your attacks are predictable, your frustration a hindrance," A commented, his gaze unyielding as he faced the young shinobi. "The art of battle lies not in the power you wield, but how you wield it. Control your emotions, focus your chakra, anticipate your enemy's moves."
Ryomaru's heart pounded in his chest, A's words sinking in. Despite his cold demeanor, the Raikage's advice was valuable, echoing the principles etched in the very heart of Kumo. Ryomaru's gaze met A's, a silent acknowledgment of the wisdom behind his words.
Silence descended upon them, a quiet reminder of the long road that lay ahead. Ryomaru's path was becoming clearer with each passing day. A shinobi of the Hidden Cloud, guided by the Will of Lightning, shaped by the ice of the Yuki Clan.
The silence in the training ground was deafening, broken only by the heavy panting of the young shinobi. A's stern gaze swept over Ryomaru, taking in his exhausted state with an unreadable expression. After a moment of contemplation, the Raikage broke the silence, his deep voice echoing in the quiet air.
"That mirror technique..." A began, his eyes narrowing slightly, "where did you learn it? I don't recall anyone in the village knowing such a technique."
Ryomaru blinked at the question, his gaze meeting A's. There was a hint of curiosity in A's tone, an anomaly that caught Ryomaru off guard. Gathering his composure, he responded with honesty, his voice steady despite his physical exhaustion.
"I...I don't know," Ryomaru confessed, his brow furrowing slightly. "It just...came to me."
A's eyes scrutinized him, his face unreadable. "Miori doesn't know that technique, does she?" He asked, referring to Ryomaru's mother, the only other Ice Release user in the village.
Ryomaru shook his head. "No, "
A fell silent, his eyes glazing over as he delved into deep thought. "Perhaps it's a latent ability, an offshoot of your Yuki lineage that has somehow awakened in you. Or a result of an unique combination of my own genes with Miori's..." He murmured to himself, his voice trailing off as he lost himself in his thoughts.
After what felt like an eternity, the Raikage finally turned his attention back to Ryomaru, his gaze bearing a newfound seriousness. "Ryomaru, I need to talk to you about your future," he began, his words carrying an ominous weight.
Ryomaru's heart skipped a beat at the mention of his future. He knew this conversation was inevitable, the inevitability of his destiny as the son of the Raikage. He met A's gaze, his icy blue eyes mirroring the determination that simmered within him.
"Our village is built on the foundation of trust, loyalty, and the strength of its shinobi," A continued, his tone stern. "As my son, the expectations from you are immense. Your progress, your growth, your strengths and weaknesses...all of it matters to Kumo."
A pause, a moment of silent understanding passed between the two. Ryomaru's heart pounded in his chest, his future seeming more daunting with each passing second. But his resolve did not waver.
"I understand, Raikage-sama," Ryomaru spoke up, his voice filled with unwavering determination. "I will do my best to uphold the pride of our village and clan."
A nodded at his words, seemingly satisfied. "Good. Remember, Ryomaru, strength is not just about physical power, it's also about having the mental fortitude to make difficult decisions and stand by them."
A raised his hand, electricity sparking and hissing around it. "There's one technique that I'm known for, and it's also a technique that has helped our village gain its reputation: the Lightning Chakra Mode."
A brief demonstration followed, the Raikage's body becoming a beacon of raw power, arcs of bright, lightning-charged chakra dancing around him. Ryomaru watched in awe, the sight of his father harnessing such a force instilling both a sense of respect and anticipation within him.
"The Lightning Chakra Mode increases our strength and speed exponentially," A explained, his voice echoing amidst the static discharge, "It's our village's trump card."
The demonstration ended, the charged atmosphere gradually returning to normal, leaving Ryomaru with the faint scent of ozone and the lingering image of his father shrouded in pure energy.
"I know you have a Lightning Chakra nature, Ryomaru," A continued, meeting the young shinobi's gaze. "But I haven't seen you excel in it yet. This...will have to change."
Ryomaru swallowed at the implication of his father's words, understanding the gravity of what was being asked of him. He knew mastering the Lightning Chakra Mode would be no easy task, but it was a challenge he was ready to face head-on.
"I understand, Raikage-sama," Ryomaru responded, a surge of determination reinforcing his words.
"Good," A replied, a subtle hint of approval in his tone. "We'll start your training tomorrow. Remember, Ryomaru, the Lightning Chakra Mode is not just about power. It's about control. It's about discipline. Harness it, and you'll become one of the strongest shinobi this village has ever seen."
A lowered his hand, the electrical aura around him dissipating, leaving the stillness of the training ground to settle once more. "This technique," he began, his tone heavy with an understanding that belied the gravity of his words, "it was once mastered by my father, the Third Raikage, and he became known as the 'Strongest Shield'. He could withstand any attack, his body seemingly impervious to damage. He became an unbreakable barrier, a symbol of strength and resilience."
