Roses

Amidst the roses in full bloom,

Under the starry night's bright loom,

A girl sits in the garden alone,

Penning down her heart's sorrowful tone.

The moonlight casts a dim hue,

Reflecting on her hair's brown hue,

As tears flow silently from her eyes,

Longing for the one she loves but denies.

The garden is filled with red and pink,

But for her, they hold no sweet link,

For her heart is heavy with love's pain,

A love she can only cherish in vain.

And so she sits, writing her heart out,

In the midst of the garden's beautiful bout,

A solitary figure in the dim light,

Aching for her love, to hold him tight.

But alas, it cannot be, she knows,

For distance and fate are her love's foes,

And so she'll continue to love from afar,

Crying silently under the moon and stars.
