His body ached, and Billy was exhausted. He has rarely felt this way ever since arriving here. Even when he did tire himself, he recovered his stamina reasonably quickly. Even his throat was dry, and his body craved something to drink.
'Did our functions return to normal? If so, that would mean I'd have to hunt for food and find a source of water. Then there is the bathroom situation as well...'
Billy wiped the sweat from his forehead before he gazed down at the three wolf corpses.
'No. There has to be something else.'
Shaking his head, he tossed out the idea of eating the meat from the dead wolves. Although the option was not bad, he had no tools to complete such a task. Nor did he know how to start a fire without a match.
'Should I hunt ten or stop after I find a safe place to rest? Ten. Sounds good enough for now.'
Billy opened his status window and saw he had one stat point available. He had no spear this time, a weapon he was beginning to get used to. Gaining one of the elements might be suitable, but Billy feared that even if he obtained one, he could not use it. His mana reserves were at rock bottom, so he would still have to fight with his hands.
Thinking about it, Young-Dae also fought with his hands.
Billy glanced over three stats on his window. Fist, finger, and palm. What was different about the three?
The longer he looked at it, the more he wanted to try all three. But, Billy settled on increasing the proficiency of his finger.
He picked it because a finger strike can be more deadly than a fist. At least, that was how he portrayed characters in his novels who used such techniques. It was the same in other stories he has read. A person could hit pressure points with a finger, and in various stories, a skilled fighter can block chakra paths.
There was an odd sensation coursing through his hands. It caused his fingers to twitch for a second before the feeling calmed down.
[Weapon has been chosen, all other options are now closed off.]
[You have gained the class, Martial Artist.]
[Mana has been converted into Qi.]
[Sense has been converted into perception.]
Looking over his stats once more, he was ok with the changes. Although, there was the question if qi and mana used the same amount of energy. This left Billy wishing he obtained those pills before he acted out.
[Martial Artist skills will now be shown.]
[Breath of life - Everything has energy, and you take it into your body. Energy is the source of all life, and with it, you can do remarkable things. Enables Qi absorption. Cost 5 points.]
[Iron Bone - Bones are hard, but you can make them harder. No longer easy to break. Increases your bone strength. Cost 5 points.]
There were only two skills he could acquire right now. Before, he waited too long as he upgraded his stats and failed to obtain a skill. This time, he would get a skill.
Looking at both of them, they were both tempting to his eyes.
'I only wanted to hunt ten more times... guess I can go until I have both skills.'
Billy said to himself.
As long as he kept facing wolves, he did not have to increase his base stats by much. This would allow him to accumulate points with ease.
This may be the only thing he does for the day, as he wanted to find somewhere to stay. His goal was still surviving, so he would let someone else do the heavy lifting.
How long would they be here? He had no idea.
