"Opportunities for what? Let go of your responsibilities and revel in the troubles of others? Not doing the work I gave you and slacking off?"
Felt stabbed and his instincts ripped apart. Alfin didn't look surprised when Harry knew his ulterior motive.
"I have my reasons, Harry. And please just give her this one chance," said Alfin finally. Still did not want to give up because he believed what he believed in.
Harry kept calm.
Very mysterious. So maybe no one can understand his heart.
"If you don't want to work for me. Just say it. And I'll kick you out right away! So do you need to keep going against my will?"
Alfin sat limply.
Alfin looked at those dark eyes in disbelief.
"I don't want Aimee to be fired, Harry. Although she is not a reliable secretary. She is an honest person. And during the 4 years she worked for me, she helped me a lot." Alfin said confidently.
Harry scratched his temple.
"But, haven't I told you before? You have nothing to do with hiring someone and firing them?"
Alfin found a loophole of injustice.
"There it is! How can I not do that when Aimee is my personal secretary?! I don't have that authority and I'm not granted access at all?!"
Nodding confidently, Harry confirmed it.
"Yes. Because it is listed in the company rules. And I've been checking her performance all along."
Harry sat up straight. Didn't have bad habits like smoking. Including the people around him. Made the air around him did not congested.
However, this did not guarantee that it can provide the same air comfort as the other person.
"You, of course, knew all the mess she made. Not included in the competent secretary and entered this company then survived so far. Maybe it was all due to luck," said Harry based on his judgmental glasses.
So Alfin could already guess that Harry had investigated Aimee more before the two of them spoke. And Alfin bit his lip nervously because he didn't have a strong statement to refute Harry's negative accusations.
"Yeah… I admit it. She's a troublemaker. But you can't underestimate her. She's done a lot of things right and works neatly. Even though it's rare."
Alvin grimaced.
Actually, what was the reason that Alfin was so eager to keep Aimee?
And why was it so hard for him to give a proper compliment without dropping it a bit?
Did he go this far, only out of pity and didn't want his people to be troubled?
Oh, come on!
That was impossible right, Alfin?
You were the most ignorant person of other people's business. Even though you sometimes liked to tease them by acting like you were interfering when you were actually really stupid because it was for a moment's pleasure.
Harry added his words.
"And you can't forget. I am the boss of this company and my word is absolute."
Alfin shrunk every time the patent's words come out.
"Yes. You are right. And that fact pissed me off even more. So, should we switch places for a bit so you can understand how complicated my position is?" Alfin bargained because of his spontaneity.
Squinted and let Alfin daydream. Before Harry gave another response. Alfin first corrected his words.
"No. I don't think that's a good idea. Even worse than the worst! Because I don't like mountains of work that keep piling up on your desk without pause and knowing the time. But, can't you just let this matter flow naturally?" persuaded Alfin again.
And Harry kept quiet. So Alfin was forced to lift a few fingers up.
"3 months. At least give her a chance and see how she develops." Alfin asked seriously.
Harry's eyes flashed slightly. Tried to listen and considered it.
"I believe with the help of Zack from the Mad Empires company. The project will be a success and without any interruptions! Then, Aimee's skills are honed!"
Harry suddenly spoke.
"The day after tomorrow! Tell them to directly conduct a field survey and construct a building framework. Arrange that business trip and keep an eye on them!"
Alfin looked cheerful in an instant.
"Wait. Does that mean you're going to give her a chance?" asked Alfin, still not sure.
"Who knows. We'll see and observe. I'll demand a lot of damages doubled if this plan of yours fails."
Alfin hastily saluted.
"Yes Boss!" he shouted. It didn't matter which way the prediction results. Alfin was sure the result would not be as bad as he had feared.
"Deal! Don't go back on your word and keep your promise! I'm sure everything will go smoothly because I'll be keeping a close eye on her!"
Harry shook his head weakly.
It wasn't that he was trying to be royal and different from his usual demeanor.
Harry just wanted to try out a new prospect.
Because maybe what Alfin said was true. And Harry was sure, Alfin would not be able to waste his trust.
Alfin then said goodbye. Walked out of Harry's room and breathed a sigh of relief.
"Humph! One problem was solved easily beyond my expectations. Now, we have another important matter!"
Alfin accidentally looked out the window.
Saw two people chatting outside. When he was about to walk towards his room.
Alfin frowned when he recognized Aimee.
"What's she doing down there?"
Glanced at the man who was with her outside the building.
Alfin mumbled nonchalantly.
"Is that the man who is rumored to be close to Aimee?"
Recalled the brief conversation that Alfin overheard this morning between Aimee and her co-worker.
Zack suddenly approached him.
"Who were you talking about? And did why talk to yourself?" Zack asked while walking towards Alfin after greeting him.
Alfin turned his body. He was smiling friendly and welcoming Zack.
"You're still here?" asked Alfin.
He nodded slowly and followed Alfin's gaze.
Zack gave a slight glance.
