You are adopted

Anastasia: "What the hell? Why is my name written on this tombstone? And why did it says that i died in 1998? I was born in that day. So how is this possible? And if i died on my birthday then how did I grew up? " She said panickingly

Agnes: "Listen child, i want you to calm down. I know what i am going to say is going to hurt you alot, but you deserve to learn the truth. I can't keep you in the darkness forever."

Anastasia: "What do you mean? What truth? And what darkness?. Miss Agnes please tell me everything, i have seen many weird things in my life but this case is very abnormal. Are you trying to say that I am a ghost? Is this why i could see all the supernatural creatures?"

Agnes: "No, you are not the ghost. You are a human just like everyone else. But the only difference you have is that, you are not a normal being."

Anastasia: "huh!?"

Agnes: "Anastasia De Rossi, the first daughter of claudia and Eliss De Rossi died in claudia's womb while she was in labour. I hope you are understanding what i am implying."

Anastasia: "No i am not, i don't understand anything you are saying. And why are you taking my name in the third person? You are talking about me, right?"

Agnes: "Anastasia you are not understanding!" She sighed "you are adopted."

Anastasia felt her world stumbling before her.

She is adopted? So the people she has been living with for 22 years are not biologically related to her? Her life was a lie.

She has been living as a substitute for their real daughter. Even her name is not hers. If that's the case then who is she?

She didn't even had the words to ask anything to Agnes because she was too shocked to say anything. That's why she kept silent.

Agnes: "Claudia went in coma after giving birth to a dead baby and Isabelle knew that claudia would be very heartbroken if she learned that her child died. That's why she prayed to god everyday in wish to get her grand daughter back. And one day the wish came true, she found a little miracle in her doorstep waiting for her." She looked at Anastasia with serious expression "Do you want to know who that miracle was?"

"It was you."

5 September 1998

Isabelle lighted the candles in front of the statue of the god and started to pray again.

She was doing this for past 5 days and she is not going to stop unless she gets what she wants.

She intervened her fingers together and closed her eyes to pray.

Isabelle: "God you gave me everything i wanted, but this time you took away my biggest happiness. Claudia lost her baby girl and currently she is in coma. I could bring her out of the coma with my magic, but i can't bring back my dead grand child." Her eyes started to become watery. "What is the point of having powers if i can't even save my own family?" She sighed.

"I feel so powerless right now. But i know you are going to help me in some way. Please just give me my granddaughter. I promise I will never ask for anything again in my life. Please,  i have saved many people with my powers without asking for anything in return. But please, just this time. Show me that you are looking after me."

She opened her eyes to see if something has changed but nothing was different. She again closed her eyes in disappointment, but then she heard a noise, the noise was of a baby.

A baby? Why is there a baby's noises in her house?

She quickly ran towards the place where the crying noises were coming. She went towards her door and opened it. Their she saw her, the wish she has been dying to get.

It was a baby.

The little baby girl stopped crying and started to look at isabelle with her big green eyes and after that, she gave her a beautiful smile that could even melt the coldest heart in the world.

She was like an angel's incarnation.

Isabelle holded the baby in her arms. And noticed that there was blood flowing from the babies palm. Who could have done this with this little innocent soul?

She glanced at the basket where the baby was sleeping and inside it there was a paper where something was written on it.

[Don't let this baby feel any kind of negative emotions otherwise this world would be in danger]

But Isabelle just ignored the paper and kept staring at the beautiful baby's face.

After that, she took her inside of the house so she could heal the baby's palm.

She kept the baby in her lap and started to caress it's head.

Isabelle: "What should I name you? Kaitlyn? Diana? Or claudia's favourite name Emilia? No that doesn't suit you, she will name it to her next child. But what should your name be?" She begins to think. "For me, you were reborn and you are the resurrection of my dead granddaughter. that's why i have a perfect name for you. From now on, you are Anastasia De Rossi."

The baby also giggled that means she also like this name. Isabelle smiled at her.

Her phone started to ring that's why she took it. The call was from her son in law Ellis. He was in panic

Ellis: "Mom, it is a miracle. Claudia woke up from her vegetable state. But the problem is, she is asking to see the baby. I don't know what to do. I am so messed up right now. I told her that the doctor will bring our baby. I know, it was stupid but what should I do?"

Isabelle: "Don't worry son, i am coming there with your baby."

Ellis: "What!? Mom, my daughter died. What are you talking about?"

Isabelle: "you'll learn it, when i come there. But make sure claudia don't know anything about it." After that she pressed the red button to end the call.

She looked at the baby and gave her a smile. "Come Anastasia, let me introduce you to your parents."

Anastasia looked at Agnes carefully with her swollen eyes and then asked her with a trembling voice. "So is this really true?" Her voice started to crack a bit because she was in a verge of tears. "I am really adopted."

The atmosphere around them turned cold.

Agnes embraced herself as she could not bear the cold in her old age. She tried to calm Anastasia down because only she could make the weather into normal.

Agnes: "I know, hearing this might be very hard for you, but please don't forget that your family loves you. And you know that too."

Anastasia: "Yeah right, My family. But it doesn't matter anymore. I was a substitute to them anyway."

Agnes: "No, no why would think something like that?"

Anastasia: "You know what Miss Agnes? I should leave now." She said while wipping her tears. "Thanks for giving me your time." After saying that she straight up ran outside of the house and was no where to be seen.

Agnes: "Anastasia wait!" She sighed. "I hope she stays safe. But now what should I say to Isabelle? How will she react?" She took out her phone and started to dial Isabelle's number. "But i need to tell her this."

Isabelle picked up the call and waited till Agnes speak. "Hmm? What happened Agnes why did you call? Is Anastasia there with you because ruby only brought Emily home. Give her the phone i want to talk with her." But she only heard silence from other side. Thays why she became annoyed.

Isabelle: "Come on Agnes, Speak something. Is she with you or not? I don't even understand what important thing does she wants to talk with you about? Hello? You there?"

Agnes: "Isabelle, i told her everything."

Isabelle: "What do you mean you told her everything? Please don't tell me that you told her about" Her heart started to beat faster.

Agnes: "Yes i did. I didn't had any choice alright? She came towards me and ask me to make her another red knotted bracelet for her so she could stop seeing stuff again. But what else am i supposed to say? I didn't made that thing. And i am telling you, infact everything that happened is really a good thing because atleast now she don't need to hide her powers anymore."

Isabelle: "Fine, everything you are trying to say is making sense, but what about her? How did she react when she learned about it? Did she cried?"

Agnes: "Sadly yes she did. It is very hard to endure the pain when you learn that the people you are thinking as your real family turned out to not be biologically related to you."

Isabelle: "But why does it matter if she is biologically related to us or not? You know that both Claudia and Ellis loved her more than they loved their real daughter." She tried to control her pain. "But anyway, give her the phone. Let me talk to her."

Agnes: "She left just now. And after that i called you. But don't worry she will be alright."

Isabelle: "Wait! You let her go alone." She was stunned "Agnes you don't know, but she is very emotional. What if something terrible happened? N-no i can't let it happen." Her voice begins to stutter.

Agnes: "Isabelle don't be too pessimistic. She is not a child anymore. She knows what is right or wrong. So just trust her for once."

Isabelle: "I don't care, i am going to find her now." She quickly ended her call and satted on her sofa and started to go in deep thought.

The worst day has finally arrived. She tried to hide the truth from her but still, it came out.

Now what is she supposed to tell her? What if Anastasia asked her about who her real parents are? Even she don't know the answer for that.

Isabelle was getting very anxious because the situation was the same when claudia left the house."

[17 Years ago]

"Mom! Mom, where are you? Come outside i want to talk." Claudia said while looking angry and frustrated.

Isabelle came into the room and looked at her with worry. "What happened claudia? Why do you look so miserable? Were you crying?"  She went ahead to wipe her tears but her hand was shrugged by claudia.

Claudia: "Don't touch me, just tell me the truth." She took a paper out from her bag and showed it to Isabelle. "I took Anastasia to get a medical checkup. And you know what i found out? The doctor told me that except our blood group nothing matches. They told me that i am not biologically related to her and the DNA reports also confirm it. So tell me you know anything about it?"

Isabelle: "Claudia, baby i am so sorry. I know i should have told you about this, but i thought that you would be so broken if you learned the truth. That's why i decided to hide it from you."

Claudia: "So this is true?" She bitted her lip to control herself from crying. "No, mom i can't believe it. I gave birth to her, i raised and loved her dearly and now you are saying that she is not my daughter. How could I believe it?"

Isabelle: "No, she will always be your daughter but you should stop being in a denial."

Claudia was not in denial, but her mind was going elsewhere. "If she learned the truth then will she never see me as her mother? Would she ever call me mommy again? No, hell no. She is mine. I gave birth to her and no one is going to change my mind."

Because of the loud commotion, Anastasia who was playing in the garden came inside the house to check what happened.

"Mommy is everything alright?"

Claudia glanced at her with teary eyes and took Anastasia in her arm while hugging her tightly. "Don't worry baby, everything is fine. Just, we are going to leave this village."

Isabelle: "What!?"

Claudia: "Agnes told me everything before. I just came here to confirm it from you. And by the way, she always told me about what happened on Anastasia's 5th birthday. That's a good thing that you guys took off her memory. I don't want her to remember that accident. That's why i am not going to blame anyone for it. But just to keep her safe from any harm, i need to take her away from this village. I hope you understand."

Isabelle was sad when she heard it, but she knows, this thing was good for Anastasia that's why she stayed quiet.

Claudia: "If you ever missed us, then you can come to London and visit us. I have decided to live in eliss's old house. Because that's the only place where I have his memories left now."

Isabelle shook her head sadly "No need, you know i can't abandoned my village even for a day. You know what will happen if i did that."

Claudia: "As you wish." She looked at Anastasia who was in her arm and kissed her forehead. "Come Love, let's go and wake up Emily." After that she went up the stairs and started to pack her bags to live the village.
