Alpha Wolf

After Arthur entered the lower floor, something extraordinary happened.

All of the younger wolves retreated, leaving only the Alpha. Likewise, the acolytes moved behind Arthur.

It was a duel. The Alpha wolf being an intelligent being, it naturally wanted to reduce casualties. It was quite obvious that the human party was in a difficult position, and besides Arthur, none were capable of fighting anymore.

The Alpha Wolf was enraged. Losing half its pack for a puny 5 humans was completely unheard of. It had underestimated the power of weapons.

It wanted to bite Arthur's head off. With its huge body, it swallowed Karl's arm as a sign of determination before growling. Arthur understood its intention, and showed no fear. Even if it was stronger, it overlooked something. Arthur was armoured and equipped, whereas the wolf only had claws and teeth.

Even if they were very sharp, they couldn't be more resistant than steel.

*CLANG*

The first clash was very noisy.

The sound of Iron clashing with claws was extremely fierce, and the acolytes seeing this scene were shocked.

By deflecting the claws with utmost accuracy, Arthur had created an opening in his opponent's defence. The Alpha Wolf was huge, and unbelievably strong, but it was only a beast in the end. Still, it was impressive for a dire wolf to reach this realm of strength.

'It is almost as strong as an intermediate knight in terms of physical attributes. How many beasts has it eaten?', Arthur wondered

Waving off these thoughts, Arthur moved forward, and breathed out while activating his family's knight killing technique. It was his most powerful attack, and obviously, its lethality was exhilarated by 'Celeste', which was sharper than any of the swords he had wielded in the past.

Having 10 points of vitality, Arthur assumed the beast had around 100 Health Points. With one strike, Arthur had significantly weakened the beast.

Still, an alpha wolf was a pack leader.

After it received the sword, it quickly turned to face Arthur, and tried to bite off his head. Unfortunately, Arthur was too fast, and proficiently dodged the attack.

"Be careful, Arthur!", Evangeline kept shouting while looking at the inhuman combat with great fear

The young body refinement acolyte, however, was overpowering the wolf with incredible swordsmanship.

Each clash with the alpha wolf ended up in the majestic beast receiving one more wound. Although Arthur was panting from the incredibly high stamina consumption, the Alpha Wolf's attributes were dropping by the minute from blood loss.

Eventually, the beast howled in pain, causing the rest of the pack to run away.

*BOOM*

Its leg giving out, the Alpha Wolf glared at Arthur in defeat. It couldn't move anymore. After all, Arthur's had been targeting his opponent's tendons. It was impossible for the mighty Alpha wolf to survive now.

"You were a worthy opponent", Arthur muttered.

As if it understood Arthur's words, the beast closed its eyes as he approached.
