VOLUME 1: CHAPTER 7 KNOWING THE TRUTH

It had been a week since Lucryn left for his journey he had passed various towns and villages and had met new people he had journeyed nonstop heading towards his first point of destination which was yudome forest it was said to be cursed and all those who entered would never return and those who managed to come out were never the same they had lost their minds.

After another two days he had arrived in the forest he walked into it knowing full well about the consequences the forest was so dark that it gave an eerie feeling the tress which were supposed to look green and fresh were dark and for hours he had wandered the forest without encountering any danger soon the sun was setting he had to find a place to seek shelter since he was not aware of the dangers that were lurking in dark at night. Finally, dark came and he had managed to find a cave just in time it was hidden by the tall thick trees and was inside a mountain making it hard for people to find it, as he sat in the cave waiting for morning to come he could hear the rumbles of thunder and heavy winds blowing he immediately knew a storm was coming and if he wasn't careful he would be in deep trouble.

Soon after; it begun to rain heavily and within a few hours the cave was flooded it was in that moment that he knew he was in deep trouble he tried to find a way out but couldn't. Outside there was storm and further deep in the cave was a much bigger danger, since the time he entered the cave he could feel the presence of something deeper in the cave and the spirit energy it possessed was so terrifying that he was scared of moving much deeper into the cave.

As he pondered on what to do a lighting struck the mountain causing the rambles to roll down sealing the cave this caused the water in the cave to rise causing the whole place to be filled with water, He was bad at swimming and this predicament was his downfall he had sunk into the water and lost consciousness his body was then washed away by the water moving through the cave like a dead body flowing in the river.

After the storm cleared his body had washed up in another part of the cave laying down lifeless soon a silhouette appeared and could be seen carrying him away, the unknown person had dragged him into its habitat and had cared for him and after a week he woke up.

"Where am I? Ouch! My head what happened"

 His head ached as he had woken up his eyes couldn't see well so he had to rest and again, after a while he woke up and when he looked around all he could see was stones and the thing he slept on was a bed made out of the skin of an animal he stood up and walked around but found no one he then concluded that the person who had saved him had gone out but just as he was about to leave , he felt the presence of someone behind him and the spirit energy was overwhelming he couldn't move even his eye lids.

This was his first time feeling this and he felt scared though he had faced people much stronger than him this was different the level of power this person possessed was unbelievable though Lucryn was terrified by the level of the person the thing that got him more terrified was the shadow of the person he saw. On the wall before him the shadow was taller and bigger than him and it had horns on its head and this image alone made his heart pounded with a force strong enough to break free from his rib cage at thought of death looming before him.

"Don't be scared I won't eat you come sit your injuries aren't healed yet"

The voice that spoke sounded feminine and from what the person said it made Lucryn relaxed a little he then turned around to face his savior and to his surprise it was a beast 8 feet tall and had black scales all over its body its teeth were as sharp as a blade and could pierce through even the toughest armor. He didn't scream or tried to run he followed the beast's orders and sat down he sat down quietly and watched the beast as it did its own thing without saying a word, soon a bowl was placed in front of him with soup in it he quietly took it and ate he took all and asked for seconds the beast gave it to him without saying a thing and after he was done the laid down satisfied.

"Can I know your name? Since you helped me it would be wrong not to know who you are" He asked

"Aren't you afraid of me human?" she also asked him 

"Hahahaha! if you were going to you would have done it and besides from what I know spirit beast don't talk but you can talk and reason that makes you something else am I right" 

 "You are a smart one alright you win but before I continue who are you and why do you have the aura of the spirits around you"

Lucryn was confused when he heard what the beast said he saw familiar with the term spirit but the word aura was something he had never heard of; the beast stared at him and noticed his confused look she walked closer to him and said

"Are you trying to hide the fact that you are not working with a spirit"

"Wait am confused; all that I know is that I poured my spirit energy into a map and this old guy who looked like a wandering soul came out and told me about the legacy left behind by a race called the spirits and how they had gone extinct"

Lucryn had told the beast everything that had happened and the reason for his current predicament the beast quietly listened to everything he had to say and when he was done she now understood why he had aura of the spirits.

"Those damn spirits so it seems most are alive and are planning something evil in the dark again"

The beast's words got Lucryn thinking he was confused he didn't understand what was going on or what he had gotten himself into 

"Human boy you have been tricked by the spirit race the fact that you have the aura of a spirit around you means you are born with high innate spirit energy and this puts you and everyone you know in danger and the legacy you talked about is true but it's not something you want to have"

She said with a troubled expression; Lucryn too at that time was troubled when he heard what the beast his whole expression changed his spirit energy immediately busted out of him like an explosion being set of.

"Who are you and what do you mean by everyone I know would be in danger?" He asked with eyes filled with killing intent; the beast couldn't help but smile at his expression, suddenly a huge bright light came from which was so blinding and when Lucryn could see again all that he saw was a woman with crimson red hair and curvy body that everyman dreamed of she wore a red robes and she had smooth white pale skin and was mystically beautiful Lucryn was caught by this but he didn't see how her beauty could be compared to Faeryn's.

"I am known as Velstea and am a dragon and its time I tell you the truth about the past but first tell me your name" 

"Lucryn my name is Lucryn and what is a dragon"

Velstea looked at him not surprised by the question he asked since the dragon race are said to be a race that existed long ago and only a few know about them she then chuckled and started her story 

"Back when the races of this world were nomadic an unexpected phenomenal occurred beings of great power had invaded the world; these beings were the spirits, they came to take over this world and make it as their own but the laws of this world had prevented their leader from entering since he was a being whose whole existence able to break the laws of the world. This was what caused the spirits to begin their mayhem being led by the twelve spirit Apostles who were the guards of their ruler they had manipulated the races of this world and made them their puppets with their knowledge, power and treasures they controlled the races to wage war against each other with the purpose of wanting to have more power but what they didn't know was that the more they fought the more the laws that govern the world became weak allowing an even more dangerous power to enter.

When the protectors of this world found out about this they immediately waged war against the spirit these protectors were we the dragons we fought against them for centuries without stop causing most of the races to go extinct and even our were also almost driven to extinction to gain the upper hand in the fight the queen of dragons Alena decided to merge with the hero who had been born with power that could rival the dragons and spirits, with the power he changed the tide of the battle and with it sealed the spirits .This had ended the century year war and after that he was hailed as the saint of light the remaining races had decided to go their separate ways bringing peace to this continent but now it seems like some of the spirits had broken free from the seal since its grown weak and they want to use light spirit masters with high innate spirit energy to completely break the seal. And if they came out the world would be doomed the spirit masters of this era are weak an d with me being the last dragon am not sure I would be able to live long to fight against them and if I do am not sure if I could win"

Lucryn couldn't believe it if he had truly gone on this journey he could have died and even brought disaster to the world and from the part that Velstea was the last dragon got him thinking

"I thought you said some of you survived how are you the last dragon alive"

"In order to seal the spirits we had to sacrifice ourselves to create the seal that kept them from coming this far and I who was the next queen of dragons was exempted because I was the last hope of reviving the dragon race but with the chase by the spirits who managed to survive I was not able to fulfill that"

Now knowing the truth Lucryn vowed to himself to protect everyone he held dear to him and stop the destruction of the world and to do that he had to become strong and he had to take the kings proposal into mind and create the strongest spirit temple.

"Train me, teach me everything you know I would help protect this world and those spirits would taste my wrath if we meet again."
