three, three left. Okay, okay.

How much time is there left until the portal is ready?

I looked behind me with <The many eyes of Argus>, I saw the artifacts about 95% there. Usually it'd take about half a minute, an amount of time I wouldn't be able to last while fighting this weird 'thing'.

But considering {Chronos' pocket watch}, it'd take about 12 seconds, if my observations on the speed-up were correct. Which they were.

But I'm currently out of useable artifacts, and my mana reserves are almost dry...

'This is going to be annoying.' This was my conclusion.

I started to think, and quickly came up with a classic stratagy.

I first used a very common spell -Earthen wall-, I don't use many spells, but this one was one of the ones I still knew after I went into a more skill-focused path.

I created about 15 walls all around the arena that had been almost turned to rubble where I was at, and the moment I was out of it's vision, I quickly used <Misty step> and <Cloud chasing foot-work> as a skill cell.

Due to the high amount of dust and debris in the air currently, the being didn't notice the increased amount of mist in it's vacinity as it spewed out flames of darkness that eroded matter to nothingness.

The moment it didn't see me do some obscure mix of skills and artifacts to get out of dodge, it imeadiately smelled signs of trickery, and took only a second to make the choice to spew it's flames at everything around it.

Of course I used a few skills to resist the ability of <Flames of erasure> around the beautiful portal that was almost ready, and me.

When the flames had dissapated enough for the beast to realize I was still alive, there were three seconds.

Just three seconds to go.

Still, three seconds to go.

All that I could think of that in the small amount of time was to use three skills <Savage wounds>, <Salted wounds> and <Excruciating Hemorrhage>.

There was a small wound on it's neck because I kept attacking only that specific spot.

Suddenly, the weird bird/reptile yelped. It's actually 'Yelped', like, how???? How did it do that???? It shouldn't be able to do that, it's a reptile/bird/wyvern, not a goddamn dog!

Though it is in pain, it's vocal chords shouldn't be able to produce a yelp, but... I have yet to inspect it's vocal cords with autopsy.

At least, it's sudden pain was far more intense than anything it had for at least a century and caused it to get dazed long enough for me not to die.

As the automatically assembling portal, with it's space anchors and it's fuel, it's trigger ready.

I immeadiately threw in my mana, and jumped through the portal, which then promptly destroyed itself after use.

It was created by the cries of the community for a way to runaway, so of course it's a single use, mono-portal.

Quickly, from the transmitter right below the 4th area, from the portal, a smaller hole opened from it, and I came out of it.

I was only a little roughed up, since almost all of the damage dealt to me had been avoided by negating a fatal strike or death. And the little amount of visible damage came from me running around in a danger zone filled with holes and floating stone.

I quickly stood up and patted myself down casually as everyone there watched, mostly SSS-ranks.

"What?" I asked them "Do you think I'd come back through the portal without fancy new swag if I could actually defeat that thing?"

And so, a new story in my great 'Epic' (Un-official) had been created, as I narrated my battle with the great beast, with some embelishments, about how every that had hit me had actually missed.

The fact that every attack that connects kills me, and I needed to negate it to live to see another few seconds of light, was going to be a secret 'till my oblivion.

Quickly, and by that I mean by my subjective perception of time, so; Like, maybe a half a year or so.

The voyage was ready, the boat had been made with the highest quality materials on the continent, which I know of. The artifacts had been mostly made with SSS-rank magic stones and such.

Though sadly, elizabith had chosen to stay with her church. On the bright side, I now have one extra ring space, out of the twenty I can use. An opening being created after removing the ring that connects to the ring 'Liz' uses and causes her to stop arguing for herself and just obey.

Though it's not absolute, it helps.

Let's just throw in an artifact that increases stats by 10%

I quickly wrote a mortem or something, just to give me some fame when it's found that I left, gave it to some news guy that I've helped for a few months, then stepped aboard my giant boat with all those gullible enough to join.

Including a lot of SSS-ranks and that MAX-rank because they don't believe they can't do something I can, and daring to sail the ocean blue is one of those.

Though I dislike the arrogance needed for this mind-set, it also means they usually join me in my many, dangerous, adventures.

I quickly activated the many artifacts working as a boat with extremely high-level materials as the support created and designed by the community. And it worked perfectly, since this was the 17th itteration, the first exploded into a mess of blood and guts.

Now, no problems were found, and it had been improved from the 16th itteration, now being called 'Patch 1.3', 'Patch 1.0' was the first boat to not fail miraculously.

Seeing the boat light up with blue streaks along it's silvery and black-ish hull and all that stuff brought a smile to my mouth.

It looked really cool, for me, and certainly for others.

Why do I care?

If you ask this question, then I don't consider you to have more than 60 IQ.

No matter whatever random test you use to disprove that.

But I'll still answer for those out there with 0 IQ, everybody wants to look cool.

No matter what they say, it's human nature to be socialable, and being cool makes people want to talk to you more.

Anyways, nothing big happened for a few days on the open sea, until there was a strange change in the colour of the sea.

To be honest, this strangely calm voyage was unusual since fish monsters were supposed to kill you, so I quickly inspected all the artifacts, and discovered they also had a collective effect of scaring away filthy monsterous fishes.

Probably made by a certain guy that personally hated the constant monster attacks, not sure who.

Though I honestly appreaciated them for their great achievements in the art of artifact design, since it lowered my artifact use by 1%. That's 1% I could use in the battle at the first barier!

Speaking of the first barrier, I think I can see it now, seeing as there's a violent storm raging about 72km out.

"Activate protocol 'Veil-travel'."

Sadly they hadn't had training in this like all the other things I had to teach them, so I had to do it myself.

In the end the ship was inbetween being physical and meta-physical, which allowed it to be more resistant to both types of forces, as the water passed through and was stopped at the same time, causing a loss in momentum, meaning less of a chance to overturn the ship.

Though the storm just shows that the barrier is close, the real first barrier is 'That'

A peak MAX-rank monster, the 'Leviathan', a sub-species to be exact.

Vulerable to flames and ice, resistant to electricity and water.

It kind-of needs to be able to take a lightning strike, since those are everywhere.

But knowing a weakness or two makes all the difference, let's start...

73 potions increasing or adding on ice damage. A copy of {Infinite rainbow} for ice called; {Perma-forst curse}, a few dozen extra SSS-rank magic stones added to increase the original effects. Then of course oils, and other alchemical products added on to the sword to deal even more ice damage.

Then a few skills specifically sought to deal with this levaithan too, also a 'Supreme skill' as we call it, to make it feel the beauty of nightmares for the rest of it's filthy life.

Though it probably wasn't going to survive this anyways, so no moral problems here!

I quickly exchanged my {Astral treads ittteration-327} which increased attack and speed by a small amount, and put on a pair of {Hermes' boots itteration-4377}.

A real classic this one.

Allows you to litterally walk on air, though I'm currently working on a prototype to make this line of boots to be completely redundant.

It's currently in it's 'Private testing fase', some of my more elite 'Associates' are testing it. Just pushing it to it's limits, but the moment it shows sufficient results, I'll make sure to refine it's design.

Though, for now, the hermes line is the current hegemon among shoes, for those who can produce them.

Back to reality again, I jumped from the ship, but instead of falling, the air beneath my feet became solid.

I went far faster than any ship currently in existence, that's normal too. You have no clue how focused I am on damage and speed right now.

The levaithan didn't actually notice me, as it passed though the water and the air, causing great waves and typhoons. A little ant walking on air wouldn't be noticed, would it?

Though it sure as hell noticed when I used another 'Supreme skill'

Suddenly my existence was 'reframed', and I was suddenly far closer to the great beast.

I quickly used a dozen skill together, same with '???', that weird wyvern-thing. It was a classic. Made as such by the council of 9 kings, since all nine of them used it pretty often.

All of the improvements added on to {Perma-frost curse} all activated at once, making all slowly freeze within a mile wide area.

Suddenly, the levaithan's blood started to freeze, and frost started to build-up, so easily that it was certain that there wasn't even an attemped by it's body to stop the process.

And it was beautiful, though, sadly, the long snake like creature of myth did not die as I wished. Not giving the exp I deserved.

Only a part of it's long, long bodily frame had been frozen. And the wrong part of it to kill it.

So, like the ancient beast that it is, it threw away it's 'duty' to stop people from passing the storm and entering the earthen fog, to live another day.

This caused it to rain on my parade of leveling-up, which is sad, extremely sad in fact.

I didn't even turn it into my pet, sadly I couldn't do such an attack again, for the ice element specifically, and I was actually just hoping it would die in one attack. So I didn't have the fire element ready for this voyage, because I did not consider the chance of the levaithan becoming my pet a good enough reason to delay my travels to another month or two.

I was almost certainly going to fail anyways, so who cares if I skip the small chance of getting a MAX-rank monster as my pet? I don't.

Time is money, and my time is far more valuable than some levaithan. Well... The small chance of getting a levaithan, getting one with certainty for like a month of work in this place, would be well worth it.

But that didn't happen, so I prepared protocol 'Veil-breaker'

And as the name implies, it's going to beat the shit out of the 'Veil', and make it so, that this boat can do whatever it wants.

Not actually whatever it wants, but it will be able to do something it shouldn't be able to, if it wasn't a lesser artifact array.

What a 'Lesser artifact array' and what stands above it, demanding it's lunch-money, will also be explained later.

I quickly took out every magic stone from SSS-rank to MAX-rank, I actually have a lot of MAX-rank magic stones, since there's little use to them. Except as temporary fuel for artifact arrays, which they are usually too strong for.

But this big boy, ship, it can take a few hundred. It actually needs dozens for protocol 'Veil-breaker'

But a few times more MAX-rank crystals won't hurt.

I specifically made it so with higher quality materials than predicted for creation.

After three days of constant storm, and two more peak MAX-rank monsters to scare away, a roiling fog appeared. One of the things you could call a 'Veil', but this isn't the veil that 'Veil-breaker' beats-up.

After a few artifacts arrays that I built on the ship activated, the unnatural mist around the shit started to flee. making a dome of sight.

Though I could now make a vague shape out in the fog, wait... Isn't that, 'That'?

And is it charging at me to eat me and my ship in one bite?

The answer is yes, so... I gotta scadadle, Come-on 'Veil breaker', don't you dare fail me!

Suddenly, reality itself started to break, not in the way with '???', where it slowly corrodes. But small cracks started to accumilate around the boat, as if dying by a thousand cuts. Becoming less certain, and more maliable.

Then the second part of protocol 'Veil-breaker' activated, as all the MAX-rank magic stones burned with various lights, colors and elements. As the boat and all that were on it rapidly transistioned into a new state of existence, where 'Common reality' was a meer suggestion.

And it was so nice, to see the thing halting my journey to transendence for at least a few centuries just pass through me.

Though, while it was passing through a few of the members of the crew got inflicted with [Panic] and [Fear], making them 'Abandon ship', causing them to be 'normal' again, making them instantly die. After about half-a-minute the 'Veil-breaker' protocol died off due to lack of energy.

Though the grand beast that had killed all had long since passed through us, even if it had thousands of meters of length.

I could finally take a deep breath, as in the span of a day, I had seen gravity become strangely weak, the fog had dissapated. But debris of an ancient civilization sure did like floating.

But, I did see land in the horizen, so I could finally use the final protocol that I could feasibly use.

Protocol 'Land-fall'

All I had to do is press just a single button in the captain's deck.

Reality folded over an hour of free time, where everyone celebrated their grand achievement. Especially me, as I felt like an omniscient being right now.

I had avoided another Z/ZZ/ZZZ-rank being, and even went beyond my own expectations.

I totally thought I was going to die.

But, just as I wished, the boat hit land after going through the portal created by protocol 'Land-fall'.

I stepped ashore, and just felt the breeze.

[Unbelieveable achievement!]

"Ah~"

But suddenly

Suddenly, thousands of rocks hit me, the only one of the coast.

[Skill <Half-dead savage dragon> negates death]

[Skill <Heart of eternity> negates death]

Then, all of my skill stopped.

and I got the notification.

[You were dealt 1 point of damage.]

[You have died.]

"F^&*($&@)$^(*@#)(*%&@*(#%@(#^)#(%*^_@#&#!_)(&!)%*#@*(^)#!_(&^_)^&#(*#@)(^#)(&^)@#!"

I screamed, trying to get everyone to kill these goddamned children.

But no one heard me, since I was floating out of my body.

In the end, they all died, well, the SSS-ranks, the few SS-ranks that chose to surrender became slaves for the rest of their measly lives.

Back on your continent, you remained the greatest of the great, and the small report of the fact you died, reported by the soul crystal within the palace.
