"I am not a traitor."
The crisp yet resolute voice of the child pulled Sue Terin from her reverie. She was immediately welcomed by a pair of limpid dark eyes that shone amid the darkness. It was so pure that Sue Terin could not bear to think of any betrayal.
The corners of Sue Terin's lips tugged up. She caressed the little boy's smooth black hair. "Little one, Auntie believes you."
Seemingly displeased with what Sue Terin said, the mysterious boy pouted. His cheeks bulged. "I have a name. My name is not 'Little one'."
"Oh? The chit has a name, huh?" Lordie landed atop the child's head and stomped his small feet repeatedly on the kid's forehead. "Tell this Lord. What's your name, chit?"
"Xue… You can call me Xue."
