Chapter 49: It did go wrong (3)

" Which pack do we kill next?" asked Gao Xuan as he was the first to recover completely.

" According to the latest update, a few squads have eliminated their targets as well, but there were a few casualties. Squad 16 lost one person, they are the closest squad to us, their job is harder then so is ours.

Meanwhile the Advanced mages still needed some time to kill the Commanders, so we need to kill the pack that is closest to their commander now, at the same time keep an eye on squad 16. We move out in fifteen, bring a few more Undead crystals.

"The closest pack has five Warriors and fifty to sixty minions, what's more troublesome is that squad 16 next target is also fairly close to the Commander" Luo Heng interjected.

"Then we kill ours fast and help them out, it's morning now Undead won't interfere anymore and stealth isn't necessary any longer, we are here to kill the Blood Tabi Beasts entirely anyway".

The group quickly reached their next location after resting up. Undead crystals were a godly tool for humans to recover their spiritual energy. It didn't have any side effects either.

Song Xia scouted for the group and figured out the location of the pack nearby. They seemed to be a little flustered as they were moving towards the location of their Commander.

"We have engage them forcefully, they are moving towards the commander. No time for strategies" said Song Xia.

"Alright" said the three of them in unison.

A lunar white gate opened as a white-blue wolf jumped out to face a Warrior level Blood Tabi Beast, Flame Belle jumped out of the contract space not wanting to be left behind by her brother and faced another Warrior level, beast.

"For efficiency, you three fight the Warriors while I quickly take out these Minions" 

"Affirmative"

Cao Guang joined his Lightning Nebula and released an Exploding Apex into the midst of a rattled crowd of Blood Tabi Beasts killing them. He turned around to use a space spell to push another couple of beasts back for respite when he heard hoof beat and saw a pair of horns coming at him.

A warrior level Blood Tabi Beast!

Cao Guang activated his defensive equipment before he was knocked back. He flew out like a deflated balloon on to a tree before landing.

He saw another pack of Blood Tabi Beasts appearing. The leader of the pack was a Great warrior level beast that decided to ambush Cao Guang. The pack was unreasonably small with only ten minions and two Warriors.

"Damn it squad 16 was wiped out"

This was a risk of tactical warfare with small squads in their scenario. They could avoid annoying the Undead or even letting these Blood Tabi Beasts become one, but they would increase their casualties and reinforcements would take a long time to arrive from Ancient Capital.

By the time they would arrive, the only battle left would be the Ruler.

Cao Guang stood up with great difficulty as the Minions rush towards him. He completed the Space spell he had previously prepared and slowed the pack down before activating his only area of effect magic equipment.

These were rare stuff and cost him a lot to get. As an intermediate mage his physical prowess was only slightly better than elite athletes, without equipment he would die when facing a large number of enemies.

"Can you hold on Cao Guang? " Gao Xuan screamed at the top of his lungs. 

"I'll keep them busy, reorganise we will fight as a single unit" Cao Guang replied while releasing a Fiery Fist towards the Minions.

Cao Guang cast him dimensional Summon spell and called another spirit wolf he had made a contract with. 

As a summoning major he had to have more than one dimensional Summon even if he took the elite path. This spirit wolf would be useless in a fight of this level, but it was useful enough to be his legs and eyes.

Cao Guang hopped on the wolf as it barely escaped from being boxed in by every minion. He lined up another Fiery Fist to cut the number minions to half as much from the beginning.

The warriors charged at him with another horn attack when a wall of earth seperated them.

Gao Xuan used his second tier spell with his full power to protect his brother.
