Chapter 152: National Hall

Song Xia made her decision and presented her intentions to Mochizuki Ken, she had asked for a 5 v 5 single battle and she, Jiang Shaojun, Guan Chen, Li Kai and Zu Yuanjun would represent their team.

Li Kai would be the first combatant and went up to the arena and waited for Mochizuki Ken to sent someone up. Mochizuki Ken had no intention of going easy on his neighbours or losing this match and sent their second strongest fighter, Tachibana Natsuko a Wind and Fire maga.

The two took their places on the opposite ends of the arena and waited for General Kai's signal to start.

Li Kai was the first complete his spell as Natsuko delayed her casting intentionally. A Star Orbit quickly formed and released a breath of Poison towards Natsuko.

She quickly casted her Wind Trail, dodging the spell, Basic poison spell had very little manuevaerability while Wind and Space had the maximum in the same level.

A red Star Pattern appeared far faster than Li Kai as she released a fist towards him. The intermediate fire spell had a certain area of effect although incomparable to the intermediate water spell. Li Kai lacked the mobility and could only prepare his defences.

A Blue Star Pattern appeared as Li Kai launched his spell albeit a little slower than Natsuko, a fact that actually played into his advantage.

They weren't far from the stage of point of releasing intermediate spells in an instant and opted to use first tier spells when they weren't covered by their teammates.

Li Kai's water spells countered her Fire spells too much, their Spirit seeds were pretty much similar in strength as well preventing her from exerting the advantage she gained first.

A certain way Fire mages used to beat Water mages was to cast Ground Break and catching the opponent off guard but Li Kai was prepared.

Natsuko changed her style again and flew forward with another Wind Trail instantly. She decided to take advantage of Li Kai's lack of mobility as she prepared her magic weapon. Li Kai used a Poison Breath and forced Natsuko to avoid his right side and attack from the left as he prepared his defensive equipment.

Their equipment clashed a few times in a span of seconds as neither gained an advantage, Li Kai connected another Star Pattern and this time used his Poison element.

Natsuko used her Wind intermediate spell as defence using her spirit grade seed, this gave her better control over her primary compared to Li Kai who lacked a Poison material. Elemental magic had it's advantages too, not only were they easier to develop and break through with the resources for them were easier to find.

The compressed wind exploded on command and blew away the poisonous insects and knocked Li Kai off balance as soon as his equipment's duration was over, Natsuko charged with another Wind Trail and her equipment forced General Kai to declare her the winner of the match.

Natsuko troded off the arena to her teammates who were cheering for her.

" Hehe, they lasted for longer than I thought, have you gotten stronger again vice captain?"

While the blond haired guy's words appeared not insulting, any one could decipher the meaning hidden beneath an official member had just lost out to a substitute, their national team had showed weakness off the bat.

Song Xia gritted her teeth and send Jiang Shaojun next to battle as the blond haired mage was sent on by Mochizuki Ken.

The blond haired mage was a pure destruction mage with Fire and Lightning elements with spirit grade seeds in both of his elements. The guy prouded himself as the strongest output of this National Hall.

Jiang Shaojun casted his elementary spells faster than any of the contestants so far, he couldn't just cast basic spells instantly but his Mental Strength wasn't low either, probably in the second level, this was the same as Song Xia, only Cao Guang had reached the intermediate tier among all of the students present.

Jiang Shaojun wasted no time and didn't let the guy have any chance of making a comeback.

He made another Star Orbit instantly and reduced his weight and covered the distance between them instantly to knock the mage unconscious unlike Li Kai's battle that lasted for a while, he had won under a minute, the gaps between mages of the same level could be that vast as well.
