Chapter Two

[A/N:- MC is 12 years younger than Hiruzen, so about 5 years older than Tsunade. I changed some things, Tsunade is currently 3, which should mean Hashirama would die in a year or two. But I'd extend his life by about 3 more years, so he'd die when the Mc is around 12-13. In this Timeline, Hashirama is currently 50 which means Madara stayed in the village for longer than he did in Canon. Mito gave birth after she became a jinchuriki, but it wasn't stated how many children she had so I directly ignored that (she probably had just one, as none of her descendants had the whiskers like Naruto). In this timeline she had all her children before becoming a jinchuriki]

....................

It took a few minutes for Indra to find himself sitting before the Hokage and his brother Senju Tobirama. Hashirama sighed as he looked at the appearance of Indra, this was the reason why he created the village, to protect children like Indra from the harsh realities of the world. He wanted to immediately accept Indra into the village but his brother didn't let him do that. A non-Konoha shinobi with the Byakugan, one with a Gunbai like Madara. That was a risk Tobirama wasn't willing to take, they had to find out where he's from first and if he had more family members out there that could breed out more Byakugan users.

"What's your name, boy?" Tobirama coldly asked, probably trying to intimidate Indra.

"My name is Indra," he replied, not even showing any sign of nervousness.

"Where are you from?" Hashirama asked this time, not before glaring at Tobirama.

"I'm from a small village in the Land of Rice Paddies, but it was destroyed not too long ago by bandits. I'm the only one left with their freedom, the rest were captured to be sold as slaves including my mother." Indra said, not leaving anything out. He needs to be allowed to stay in Konoha and learn how to be a shinobi and keeping such a secret would end up hurting his chances of doing that.

Hashirama sighed again, feeling depressed at poor Indra's situation. But the surrounding became heavy as Tobirama spoke not even caring about the boy's feelings. "Which of your parents had the Byakugan," he asked rather menacingly.

"Byakugan huh?! so that's what my left eye is called. I don't know, probably my father since my mother's eyes was normal. I can't really remember my father so I can't confirm that either," replied Indra while staring at the eyes of Tobirama who clearly didn't believe him.

"Enough Tobirama, the boy has been through a lot," Hashirama interjected, directly cutting off his brother that was about to continue his line of questioning. "This village is like a family to me, so before I let you I need to ensure you're not a threat to my family. Can you show me your right eye?" Hashirama asked as his countenance became serious.

But it wasn't really a question, Indra knew he had no option but to show it to him. He just nodded before moving his hair slightly, showing Hashirama and Tobirama his unknown dojutsu.

"Do you know what the dojutsu can do?" Hashirama asked but Indra just shook his head. No one doubted him as they didn't believe he could lie to them. "That's all then, welcome to our village Indra, as long as you're a member of Konoha no one would be able to harm you," Hashirama said with a smile, but right at that moment the door to the office was opened and in came the charging Hyuga clan head.

"What is the meaning of this, Hyuga Katsumi?" Hashirama asked while releasing his chakra.

"Hokage-dono, while you're the leader of this village, the Byakugan still belongs to the Hyuga clan and I would not let a non-Hyuga wield the Byakugan. The boy would forfeit his eyes or he'd have the curse seal placed on him," the man said while turning to face Indra.

Indra got up and bowed to the Hokage before speaking, "Thank you for letting me into your village, but I'm not letting any kind of curse seal be placed on me, nor am I going to take out my eye because some old man wants me to."

"You!!!" Katsumi chuckled, "You have no choice boy, you'd either do what I asked or I'd kill you right here. The Byakugan would not be used by someone not belonging to the Hyuga clan. Whichever traitor impregnated your mother is dead, our noble clan would not have the spawn of whores possessing our dojutsu. If your father was still alive I'd go find him myself and....."

Katsumi wasn't able to finish his statement when he felt the bladed gunbai dig into his skin dieing his attire red and subsequently send him through the walls of the Hokage tower. Indra quickly jumped out of the now destroyed wall chasing after the old Hyūga clean head.

"Anija, should we stop him?" Tobirama asked. "No, let him, "Hashirama replied. "We can see how strong he is this way. You watched him too didn't you, the boy was trained extensively in combat but it felt like he doesn't even know about that. His body moves like a shinobi but as a civilian too, while he has chakra reserves almost rivalling mine at such an age.

And his chakra didn't fluctuate throughout our conversation, so he's either telling the truth or extremely good at lying, good enough to fool the both of us. Have your Anbu head towards the Land of Rice paddies, confirm what he said. While I doubt he's a spy, we can't be too careful."

"And if he's lying?" Tobirama asked.

"I would kill him myself," came the cold reply from Hashirama.

Hashirama and Tobirama turned their attention back to the fight between Indra and Katsumi, Indra was able to hold his own well against the much more skilled Hyuga clan head. But he was slowly losing ground as the Hyuga patriarch rained blows on him forcing him to focus on defending lest he gets seriously hurt. Katsumi baited Indra into overextending his dominant arm before sending his elbow to his head, sending him to the ground. He picked up the dazed Indra, grabbing his neck and lifting him up to eye level.

"You should have taken the seal, now I'm going to be taking your eyes," He said as he lifted his left arm towards the left eye of Indra.

Indra struggled but the man was too strong, the Hyuga patriarch was a kage level shinobi, not someone Indra could face at this current stage. As Katsumi's hand got closer to Indra's eye, he struggled even more trying to free himself from the iron grip of the Hyuga patriarch. Right at this moment, Indra's pupil turned bright yellow as he disappeared and reappeared behind the Hyuga Patriarch, with black rods stabbing into his back.

"Bastard, I hope that kills you," Indra said as he collapsed, completely exhausted.

"Did you see that? He disappeared completely as I couldn't even sense his chakra. And those black rods where did they come from? Is that the ability of that unknown dojutsu?" Hashirama asked no one in particular. 'The mystery surrounding this boy is increasing, if he's nurtured well, he'd prove to be a valuable asset to the village.'

Hashirama walked towards the unconscious body of Indra and picked him up, 'I should get those rods to study.' He thought, but as he turned to look at the Hyuga patriarch he noticed the last bits of the rods were turning into dust particles.

'That's disappointing,' He thought but smiled as he looked at Indra. 'I will teach you myself and you'd be the protector of my village, you'd ensure no one else goes through what you did.' Hashirama chuckled as he left with Indra.

Three days had passed and Indra was still unconscious, as you can imagine, almost killing the Hyuga patriarch is kind of a big deal and the Hyuga clan elders have been calling for his head but Hashirama would have none of it. Directly telling them Indra was under his protection and if any of them harmed him, it would be considered treason. This made them quiet down a bit as the other clans were already getting tired of their incessant murmuring.

It took a further week for things to die down and for Indra to wake up. The moment he got up, Hashirama was in his room. "How do you feel, Indra?" Hashirama asked.

"I feel completely fine, I'm ready to leave the hospital." He replied stoically.

Hashirama chuckled before replying, "I see! don't worry you'd be able to leave today, just let the medic-nin run a few checks on you."

"Ok."

"Now, do you have any idea what you want to do now that you're a member of Konoha? You should know this is a shinobi village, while we can allow you become an ordinary civilian, I think someone of your talent is more suited to be a shinobi and if you are interested you can be enrolled in the academy. Although they're a few weeks into the session, I doubt it would be hard for you to catch up, you have shinobi training after all." Hashirama said, staring at Indra intently.

"I want to join the shinobi academy, I need to be strong enough to be able to find my mother," Indra replied, ignoring the part about him having shinobi training.

"Good, that's decided then. You'd be shown to your house later today, your living expenses would be covered by me so you don't have to worry about that. Tomorrow I'd send someone to take you to the academy." Hashirama said, turning towards the door he left Indra all alone in the room.

The moment he left, Indra cuddled up in a ball with all the suppressed emotions finally getting released.
