Yash was confused. He was fighting a minute ago but now he is in complete darkness with the only visible thing being this screen.
He tried but couldn't move his body below his neck. With nothing else to do Yash ended up selecting his class.
"Amm... I will select Thief."
[Class: Thief.

"Black Firebomb. I don't need to hear the rest, I select Black Firebomb."
Just as he selected his gift, the dark around him started to fade. Slowly the dark was replaced with light and he found himself locked inside a cell.
"This is Dark Souls, I was right with my suspicion after all."
Just then a lifeless body fell from the hole in the celling. Yash look up and saw Oscar in his iconic Elite Knight Armor.
"Wait! There is a demon up there!" said Yash but Oscar was already gone.
Yash felt defeated for not being able to prevent Oscar from his fate but he pushed through. He searched the corpse for the key to his cell and found it inside the mouth of all places.
He picked the key wet from the fluids of the hollow's mouth and used it to open the cell door. He felt gross but its no use complaining.
As he stepped outside the cell he noticed the glowing letters on the ground. There were 2 orange signs and 1 white sign.
The orange signs expanded into a message when Yash touched it. The 1st one said, "This is not a game, don't be reckless."
The 2nd message said, "If you want help with the enemies or the boss, summon sign ahead."
"Good to know, but I would like to give the enemies a try first."
Yash then went ahead leaving the friendly hollows behind. After climbing the ladder he reached the bonfire and right next to it was a ghost, a player ghost to be more precise. The ghost had his back turned towards Yash, it wore the Knight's armor set and Winged Spear in his hand.
Yash then stepped in front of the ghost and it noticed him. The ghost stood up and removed his helmet revealing a handsome face with white beard and hair. The old man then gestured Yash to follow and lead him back to the summon sign. Yash took the hint and summoned him.
"My name is David, what is yours young man?"
"Hello, you can call me Yash."
He then shook David's hand. The old man keep looking at him the entire time and Yash was getting uncomfortable from it.
When David noticed Yash being uncomfortable he spoke,
"Can I ask you a question. Its a little personal but important none the less."
"Yes, ask away."
"Have you killed anyone before?"
"N...No, I haven't."
"Have you butchered an animal before?"
"No, why do you ask?"
"You are going to have to kill a lot if you want to make it back to your world. If you aren't comfortable around blood then you are going to have a hard time ahead."
"Don't worry about that, I spent a good amount of time looking at gory images and videos in my early teenagerhood. I am sure I can handle the sight of blood."
The old man then pulled out a knife out of thin air and handed it to Yash.
"Prove it to me. Take this Bandit's Knife and kill that hollow standing over there."
Yash was hesitant but he took the knife and walked up to the hollow. He took a deep breath to clear his mind of any doubt, then he grabbed the broken sword and pulled it out of the hollow's hands. He then push the hollow against the wall not letting it move. Yash then grabbed both it legs and dropped it to the ground.
Yash then secured a full mount and then he pull out the knife. Now he can keep stabbing and slashing at the hollow all he wants but the hollow won't be able to hurt him in any significant way, and that exactly what he did.
The knife cut through the hollow's chest and neck with little to no resistance. The hollow struggled to prevent the pain but Yash didn't let him. Soon the hollow died leaving behind a bloody corpse with its chest cut open.
Yash felt nauseous but he didn't let it show. He then looked at the old man and said "Is this enough?"
"You surpassed my expectations kid. I am impressed, very much so."
"Can I keep this knife?"
"Yeah sure, you can keep it. And here take this as well."
The old man offered him a solid Humanity. Yash took it without saying a word, he was still recovering from the experience of killing that hollow.
"Come on, let's get your starting equipment."
The two of them then returned to the bonfire and then David said,
"Before we go any farther you should put that humanity in your inventory."
"How?"
"You just need to think about it with a clear mind and it will open. That's actually how you open statues window and equipment window as well."
"I am trying but nothing is happening."
"Clear your head in scenarios like this. Once to get used to doing this, then you could do it mid battle very quickly without any issues. Like this."
The old man then pulled out a fire bomb and then replaced it with a throwing knife with impressive speed.
It took Yash a full minute of trial to finally be open the inventory. Inside he found the Black Firebombs he selected as his starting class. He then transferred the Black Firebombs to his usable item slot and stored his humanity in the inventory.
"I am done, thanks for waiting."
"Then lets go, we have a boss to kill."
