Chapter 46

In the evilus base, Olivas, a mid echelon member of the evilus organization was getting impatient. He had a cruel personality and was very knowledgeable about the adventurers of Orario.

"Now that the city has been weakened, why aren't we attacking??" Olivas said to Erebus.

"Tsk, shut your mouth and stick to the plan, the second part is about to start" Valletta replied while Erebus kept silent.

"I wasn't asking you bitch" Olivas replied. Valletta looked angry and it seemed like she might do something to him. Erebus then raised his hand to stop them and spoke.

"What do you think true evil is??" Erebus asked Olivas. He couldn't answer immediately but had a contemplating and confused look. Seeing this Erebus continued speaking.

"Being evil is simply being hated but, being true evil is our goal, which simply means destroying everything" Erebus said. The room was quiet with everyone listening in as Erebus continued speaking.

"You all have a role to play so things have to be done properly, so my name will not be tarnished. Do you understand that Boy" Erebus said in a chilling voice, which silenced Olivas protests for good. Erebus then decided to go on a walk to see the destruction they had caused and also talk with Vito.

Ryuu had still wandering around the city, slaying any evilus members that she encountered. Ryuu still received the complaints and dissatisfaction of the civilians with her and other adventurers. She kept on replaying Erebus words in her head about justice until she met Asfi, who was nearby.

"Hey Ryuu, are you ok?" Asfi asked as Ryuu seemed absentminded while she talked.

"Oh yea, you were saying?" Ryuu replied.

"Can you help with tracking down where the evilus higher ups are hiding, since you seem to be currently free" Asfi said, repeating what she asked earlier.

"No, I don't think I am suitable for such a job and I don't want to see you die. The evilus will have their strongest members with them so what will you do then??" Ryuu asked Asfi.

"But someone has to do this or the situation will not change" Asfi replied.

"The answer is still no, I will just keep hunting the nearby Evilus". Ryuu replied back but Asfi didn't give up and continued trying to convince her.

They didn't have much time to speak anymore as the evilus arrived and started attacking everyone in sight. They both had to confront the evilus.

While Kaguya and Lyra left, the Astraea familia went back to work. It wasn't too long before Neze, a member of the Astraea familia, started complaining about the amount of items they received while pointing out that they wouldn't be able to resist with the current amount.

"Calm down, we will manage" Alise said trying to cheer her up. Alise was just putting up a strong front as she too was worried about the whole situation.

The Astraea familia had arrived close to the hostess of fertility. Alise needed some time to think about the situation and what they should do next, so she left the group and walked a small distance away.

Putting on a concerned face when no one was around in contrast to her usual cheerful expression, she got lost in thoughts. While she was thinking, Syr who was still distributing food spotted her and decided to approach Alise with a bowl of soup. Upon arriving at Alise's location, Syr noticed her troubled expression.

"What wrong, are you ok?"Syr asked Alise. This snapped her out of her thoughts. She then noticed Syr offering her a bowl of soup. Alise needed an outlet for her troubled mind and Syr looked trustworthy enough so she poured out most of her thoughts and complaints. Thinking for a moment after listening to Alise, Syr finally spoke.

"I don't know the right answer because justice is not tangible but I do know that it's still here" Syr replied. Her reply was a bit confusing but it seemed to have satisfied Alise.

"Thank you Syr" Alise said before leaving. She needed to find an answer for Ryuu and tell her the same thing Syr had said.

After clearing out the evilus, Lyra and Kaguya left the hostess of fertility to continue their search for Ryuu. They had arrived way earlier and left before Alise's group arrived.

Meanwhile Draco was sent out of camp along with some adventurers on a supply escort run. He left his goddess to his familia members and safety of the camp.

Lyra and Kaguya kept walking until suddenly they encountered someone they knew. It was non other than Erebus. They quickly went on the defensive because Erebus wasn't alone.

"Ah the Astraea familia, we meet once again. Where is that little elf that is always with you. Hmm I think her name is Ryuu??" Erebus said while looking around for Ryuu. Both Kaguya and Lyra were perplexed on what an evilus god would want with Ryuu.

"We don't know, what do you want with her" they replied. Even if they knew where Ryuu was, they wouldn't tell the evilus.

"Hmm, when I see such an innocent little girl. I find it enjoyable to corrupt them and see their reaction to absolute evil. But I am merciful, I will let her go if any of you can give me an accurate description of justice" Erebus said in a serene voice.

Both Lyra and Kaguya were creeped out by it but, still tried their best to answer. Erebus found their answers unsatisfactory.

"Sigh, you can go" Erebus said, dismissing the girls but they refused.

"We will not let you go" They replied.

"Vito, deal with this" Erebus said before turning to leave.

I was on a supply run with some adventurers when my heightened senses picked up the scent of both Lyra and Kaguya nearby.

Don't ask why I know their scent and no I am not creep, just have sensitive senses. I decided to go check up on them since I hadn't seen them for a while with all the evilus shenanigans going on.

"You guys go on without me, I will catch up soon. I just saw some people that I know" I said before leaving the supply escort group.

'They should be fine, besides would they even miss one level 2' I thought as I went towards the direction of Kaguya and Lyra's scent. The location wasn't far but the closer I got, the more scents my nose picked up.

I decided to sprint and soon arrived very close to their location. My heightened sight saw someone else I knew which was Erebus.

I quickly hid because he seemed to be talking with Lyra and Kaguya. I also wanted to stay out of sight in case there was an ambush or this was a trap, that way, I could assist from the shadows.

I then summoned my grimoire and quickly drew my earth and wind runes in case combat broke out.

I listened in on the conversation that seemed to be almost done. The only thing my ears picked up was "You can go".

Hearing this, I felt a bit relieved that a fight wasn't going to break out. Vito was with Erebus after all and we couldn't even beat him with 4 people on the 18th floor.

The next words from both Lyra and Kaguya made my heart sink. Like seriously did they think that the big boss of the Evilus would walk around the city with just one guard.

But I didn't get to dwell on my thoughts for long as a figure that I hoped to never meet again entered the range of my senses. It was Alfia.
