Muna

Seating around a long table were beings clothed in white shining robes. Then at the head of the table was one whose face was engulfed in flames, no one could see his face.

"The devil has risen," the mighty being said, his voice echoing like that of multiple voices coming out from the deepest abyss.

"It shouldn't have happened," one of the beings seated around the table muttered and the rest shook their heads.

"Fortunately, that one has no memories of his past life and is still clueless about his origin. We must eliminate him as soon as possible!" The mighty being said to them.

"Who then will go and carry out the mission?" One of those seats around the table asked and they began to look at themselves turn by turn.

"Does it mean that none of you can?" The mighty being asked them and they all kept quiet.

"Our lord, it's not like we don't want to but you know... Since the last war, many of us haven't recovered fully. Eliminating the devil now is nearly impossible to accomplish," one replied and the others nodded in agreement.

The mighty being fell quiet, he had no words to utter in the meantime.

"My lord, I will go!" A female voice echoed and everyone turned to look at the entrance door.

A young lady badges into the hall and some soldiers rushed after her to stop her.

"I am willing to go!" She repeated but at that moment, the soldiers caught her and pressed her down. She fell to her knees and struggled for a while but her efforts proved useless as the soldiers were more powerful than her.

"Who are you?" The mighty being asked her.

"My name is Muna," the lady replied.

"A mere immortal!" The mighty being mumbled. "What gave you the right to barge in here and disrupt the meeting of the Gods?" He asked.

"I only want a chance to save my master," she replied.

"And who is your master?" He asked.

"My lord, aren't you the all-seeing being? How is it that you don't know who my master is or is it because she is of no significance?" Muna boldly asked and the atmosphere changed immediately. She suddenly dropped to her knees completely while his body began to tremble.

She wasn't the only one affected, the other beings there were equally affected by the mighty being's killing intent. It was so much that they began to tremble.

"My lord, please have mercy on her," one of them implored.

"Yes. She was ignorant!" Another added.

Fortunately, the mighty being listened and released his killing intent on the lady who gasped and fell flat to the ground.

"You want a chance to save your master, right? You can as well save yourself. If you aren't able to kill the devil within the next two days, forget about being an immortal and forever live as a human!" The mighty being said and waved his hand.

A portal opened behind Muna and she was engulfed instantly. After her disappearance, all the Gods and Goddess stared at the mighty being in silence. They knew what he had done but no one dared to utter a word about it.

"The meeting has been dismissed!" He said and instantly disappeared. After he left, the Gods and Goddess stood up and began to leave one after the other. They were scared to say a word of what had happened to anyone.

*Back in the human world*

Arsenal woke up from what seemed like a long deep sleep and the first thing his eyes caught was the clear blue sky hovering above him.

"How long have I been here?" He asked himself as he energetically rose to his feet. He leaped into the air and in the next second, he was out of the hole.

Out of habit, he began to stretch himself and when he was done, he stood confused.

"I've never done this before," he muttered but no one could explain the reason behind it.

As he took his first step, perhaps to go back home, he noticed something unusual behind him and when he turned around, the pointy edge of a sword swept past his face, creating an enormous surge of wave that impelled him to move backward.

He was quite confused for a while but he knew that his life was far more important than anything so he must save himself.

Muna launched another attack with gritted teeth, she was determined to kill the devil because it was a mission that determined if she would save her master or not.

"Die!" She yelled frantically and dashed forward again with her sword that glittered with each swing she made.

"Ha!" Arsenal sighed as he dodged the attack. He must say that the unknown lady was good at playing with her sword but aside from her beautiful sword style, there was nothing incredible about her. She was unknowingly wasting her strength while wasting his time at the same time.

"Can you stop?" He asked her.

"No, you must die!" She replied and continued to swing her sword. Arsenal deflected once more but he suddenly hit his leg on a rock and it caused him to trip and fall.

Muna saw it as an opening and quickly launched an unexpected attack. She stabbed him in the spot just below his heart and for a moment, he didn't move.

When he did, he looked down at the sword that was still stuck inside of him and his lips curled up in a smirk. Realizing that something was wrong, Muna had to take some steps backward but the realization came late, and before she could do anything, he had already grabbed her in the neck.

"Who are you?" He asked her, tightening his grip around her small neck.

"L-let me go," she muttered with difficulty.

"That doesn't answer my question," he said to her. "Oh, that fool up there sent you to kill me," he added and Muna was taken aback.

"H-how do you know?" She asked him.

"Of all the ones he could have sent, it is you? A mere immortal?" He asked back and scoffed. "He knows that you can't win against me, yet he sends you down here. Hmmm, still as vile as ever," he mumbled and released her from his hold. "Go back to him, tell him to come down, and let us finish what we started," he said to her.

"I can't go back until I have succeeded in killing you," Muna replied with a helpless look on her face.

"Hah, I see," he laughed. "Very well then, since you can't return, you can as well become my servant. This is your punishment for trying to kill me," he said to her after laughing.

"What? No!" She yelled but he scoffed and stretched out his hand toward her.

Using his fingers, he made a hand sigh, and after that was done, a small red transparent diagram in the shape of a triangle appeared and rested on her forehead.

It soon vanished like it was never there before and then she collapsed right away.
