The Date

Eddie was currently sitting across from a beautifully dressed Kara, Staring at her as she ate her food. Seeing her look up Eddie smiled, "What." Kara asked with a smile of her own.

"Nothing, it's just you're so beautiful it's hard not to stare." Kara blushed hearing his answer looking down at her food.

"Thanks, you're not half bad yourself, but why did you ask me on a date, Jessica Green is so much more beautiful than I am."

"Kara, Jessica Green is an earthly beauty, I like to look to the stars, only otherworldly beauties catch my eye."

Kara was caught off guard with Eddie's choice of words though she believed there was no way he could know she was an alien.

"But that's enough about Jessica Green, I asked you on a date because I want to get to know you better."

"What do you wanna know?" Kara adjusted her glasses looking into Eddie's eyes.

"Any Siblings?"

"I have an older sister named Alex, she's probably studying right now for some big test. We were close but recently she's been more distant, she always looks so tired. A couple of months ago she got arrested for drunk driving but she's doing better now doing her best to stay active." Kara took off her glasses wiping her eyes before looking to Eddie smiling. "Sorry."

"No need to apologize, anyone related to you has to be just as amazing."

"I'm adopted," Kara spoke correcting Eddie.

"Sure family has a lot to do with blood, but I think some people are just meant to be family whether they're biologically related or not." Kara smiled hearing Eddie's reply.

"CHECK PLEASE," Eddie yelled calling for the waiter.

"I never did ask but why did we come to such a high-end restaurant," Kara asked confused looking around the beautifully designed room. "We've only just met fast food would have done the job."

"This place looks beautiful but the food is cheap." Eddie smiled as the waiter arrived with the check. Eddie quickly signed it, noticing Kara adjusting her glasses for X-ray vision his smile grew wider. He had already had the price lowered , he didn't want her to judge him for spending money so freely.

"Well Kara, how bout we get started with the second half of this date." Eddie stood up offering hiss arm to Kara, who smiled before wrapping her arm around his.

The movie theater wasn't far from the restaurant it was actually the reason he chose that specific restaurant he and Kara could walk hand in hand to the next location.

'ring, ring.' Eddie frowned hearing his phone ring he had warned everyone her knew that he was going on a date and that they shouldn't disturb unless it was truly important. Eddie quickly pulled out his phone seeing the number his grown deepened.

Looking to Kara he flashed a quick smile "Sorry Kara I have to take this." Eddie moved a couple steps away flipping his phones open. "Hello."

"My Liege we seem to have a problem."

"Speak"" Eddie said annoyed. Kara turned away she found it easier not to ease drop if she focussed on something else. Lowering her glasses she used her X-Ray Vision to survey the area. There were couples all around today seemed to be especially busy. A couple miles north she found a man kneeling in front of a Window aiming towards Eddie. Before Kara could turn back to Eddie sheer heard the gun firing. She focused seeing the world slow around her even the bullet was in slow motion. She reached out catching the bullet quickly moving her hand behind her time returned to normal as she dropped the bullet.

Eddie hung up hoods phone turning to Kara with a smile.

"Was it anything important?" Kara asked.

"Wrong number, I just wish the lady on the other end of the phone understood that." Eddie reached his arm out allowing Kara to grasp it.

The movie theater was impossibly close to the restaurant, it was the main reason Eddie chose that place to eat.

This movie theater played nothing but the classics it's best selling point of you asked Eddie.

"Welcome, how can i help you." The guy behind the ticket both spoke quickly.

"Two tickets to The Wizard of Oz please." Hearing Eddie speak Kara's eyes lit up she loved that movie it held a special place in her heart.

"How'd you know?" Kara asked Eddie.

"Know what?" Eddie raised an eyebrow.

"My adopted mother Eliza and I would sit on the couch with popcorn and soda and watch this movie all the time. When I first got there it was the only thing that made me smile, besides my cousin Clark."

"Let's just say you remind me of Dorothy, When I first saw you at the college, you seemed so alone. Like you were in a world far away only you can't click your heels and return home."

"Is that why you're doing all this? Sticking up for me, the dinner and now this. Are you doing thos because I remind you of Dorothy?"

"Kara I'm doing this because I think you're beautiful, and yes you seemed lost but the way you see the world, as if everything, everyone has good in them it's amazing. But if you think I'm doing this for some other reason we can end it here." Eddie waited to hear her answer as he started into her beautiful blue eyes.

"Let's watch it." Kara led the way soon entering the huge doors the place was empty not another person in sight. "Where's everyone else?"

"Not many people enjoy the old movies this place only plays them because the owners wife loved these movies."

Kara took her seat look at the screen playing trailers she couldn't wait for the movie to start.

"I'm getting popcorn, what kind of drink do you want?" Eddie stood from his seat waiting on her reply.

"Coke."

Eddie quickly ran to the concession stand buying both drinks and extra large bag of popcorn. He returned to find Kara singing along to the movie placing the popcorn down he listened as her voice filled the room.

"Your voice is amazing." Eddie spoke up shaking Kara from the T.V Screen.

"You're back?" Kara blushed realizing she had forgotten she wasn't at home where she usually watched this movie.

Eddie said nothing handing her the popcorn and a Coke focusing on the movie he soon lost himself in the movie as well. He couldn't remember the last time he watched a movie.

Once the movie ended both Kara and Eddie exited the theater walking arm and arm back to Kara's dorm rooms.

Stopping Eddie turned his head to look at Kara, "Kara I really Enjoyed spending time with you."

"Same." Kara started getting nervous especially when Eddie stepped forward and even as she took a step back he reached for her hand.

Eddie didn't pull her towards him instead he took another step forward leaning down towards her lips he sealed the deal.

At first nervous Kara reached her arms around Eddie's neck wanting more she tried to make the kiss deeper only to hear a crack.

Eddie's nose had broken from her being unable to control her strength. She backed up running towards her dorm room not stopping even when Eddie called for her.

Eddie wiped his bloodied nose with a smile on his face. His nose was already healing although he had found a problem with his current situation.

Kara was like a God one that currently couldn't fully control her strength where as he was only comparable to a super human one that healed quickly but in the end a human. Just a Kiss broke his nose he would end up dead badly injured of he tried to take the ultimate step without his full abilities.

Eddie put those thoughts behind him as he pulled out his phone dialing a number "I'm on my way." Eddie hung up.

Later

Eddie entered an abandoned warehouse inside was dark but down the hall there was a single light.

Eddie could see three people tied up and gagged. Kneeling down checking there pulses he sighed when three men appeared from the shadows.

"Did I not warn you not to call me if it wasn't important."

"We had not other choice you also warned us not to make a move unless you ordered it."

"Make them forget the last week, make sure her entire family is moved somewhere cold No casualties allowed. You're lucky she was distracted or you guys would have ruined my only chance at true love." Eddie walked away opening his hand inside was a bullet. The one the sniper fired at him, he was going to make a necklace out of it and give it to Kara Eventually.
